Can't have enough of these in the closet for a New England winter!

It holds smells. I went out to hike for a couple of hours and it smelled like a metallic kind of sweat. I thought merino wool base layers didn't hold smells. I couldn't believe it. It was brand new unless it had some sort of smell from the factory. It feels good but not happy due to the ugly smell. I ended up throwing it away. Waste of money, they're too expensive for what they really are.

This is an Xmas gift however my son recommended this particular shirt as he has previously ordered same shirt. He has nothing but good things to say about this product as he works outside in all weather conditions.

Very comfortable. Mostly wear them for winter fishing and hunting. I would definitely recommend.

Great fit and feel. Always warm, never hot. Great for an under-layer, although I wear it primarily as a top layer over an undershirt.

Bought 2 of the 250 crews to use as a baselayer for snowboarding. The layers are comfortable and good at temperature regulating but one of the garments got multiple holes on the back, near my shoulder blade after only a few wears despite being worn under a fairly thick jacket. I have many other pieces of merino wool clothing and have never had them tear even after years of continuous use. In this case the garment just does not seem very durable. I contacted smartwool who told me this is not covered under their warranty so purchase at your own risk. It is hard to justify spending $100 on a shirt which only lasts a handful of uses.

I really like this shirt for a base layer, but I'm only giving it 4 stars because I've only worn it a couple of times. If the shirt proves durable after several wearing, I'll change my rating at a later time.

Bought this crew to go with my base layer bottom. Warmer than most synthetic tops, but not overly hot. I now wear this over the other synthetic base layer and between the two, I am comfortable.

Really like how warm this stays in cooler weather. The main drawback is that it's not as form fitting as I'd expect from a base layer. I like base layers to be next to skin for maximum effectiveness, and this fits closer to a long sleeve T-shirt.

I wear it during the fall, and winter. It absorbs sweat very well. It'll last for years, but I would avoid washing it in the washing machine. I would either hand wash it, or wash it inside a lingerie bag.

I gave it to my son for Christmas. He loved it. He says it's very comfortable, soft and warm. A great base layer in the cold. Its not at all scratchy and it's true to size.

Very pretty and well made. It's a fitted style at least for me. 5'7" 130# and the medium fits snug.

Little bit baggier than I would like, but it still gets the job done.

I miss the old, thicker wool material that was used. It has really changed over the years.

Another customer here thinks the sizing has gotten loser, I think it has gotten tighter. Maybe it has just gotten less consistent. I wear these base layers as sweaters all winter long, last one lasted my 10 years. This one will be warn only as a base layer on the slopes because the fit is actually inappropriate for public use.

I have a few of them enjoy them all...the last one was an xl, same as all my others but definitely too big, that was disappointing. M

Consistent with some of the reviews here, the fit is a little baggy. In terms of arm and torso length, it's perfect, but it's much too baggy in the arms and a little too baggy in the torso. They're comfy and warm, but for the price point, I need a better fit.

it is true to size, has a nice feel, and is very comfortable; it pills very easily. My older one does not show that propensity.
