Like the thickness of top but the length could be 1 1/2 to 2 inches longer. I have many smart wool shirts I have purchased over the years and this one is a bit too short for me.

This base layer feels like a warm hug. It is long enough to stay tucked in, no matter which activity engages me. One quality of wool I have always loved is its ability to breathe and adapt to temperature fluctuations. This top does that and its opaqueness lets me feel comfortable when i feel the need to strip down to my base layer. I followed the size charts carefully and the top fits as a base layer should. My only disappointment is that apparently my skin is pretty sensitive even to merino wool. Although I'm comfortable wearing it all day, when I take it off in the evening, I'm a little itchy around wrists and neck. I find a camisole under this does help and doesn't lessen the "hug" factor or its warmth. I'll be buying another in a different color, just for variety.

I love the versatility of this "base" layer. Quotations are because it works just as well when worn like a sweater. These are amazing as the wool seems to actually regulate body temps: keeps me warm but NEVER overheated. The quality is incomparably excellent. They launder well are very versatile. My husband and I are stocking up on Smartwools so we can keep the house temperature lower in an effort to combat the rising cost of heating the house. Worth. Every. Penny.

Beautiful but not very warm. I'll take that over being itchy. It's only slightly itchy when I have a jacket over it.

I bought this top for cold weather outdoor activities. So far I have used it for skiing in 10-30 degree weather. I stayed plenty warm, but never sweaty. The material is very soft and comfortable. It worked well under another long sleeve never bunching up.

This shirt is lovely, I am 5'4 and 105 lb and got size small. I wear it with another wool base layer underneath. In another words, I wear it as a sweater.
I give it 4 stars only because of the colour. I got moonbeam heater, which looks stunning on the picture. In real life it's greyish with pink and baby blue streaks. I wanted a light colour, so I kept it, it's OK to wear around the house.
I love Smartwool products, but I have to admit, that their colours are not flattering.

This top, and the companion bottom, got me through a very cold week in Minnesota! Thin enough to go under clothes, warm enough to make a real difference.

I have had the Smartwool base layer top for many years and decided to buy another in the patterned top. The sizing is different than what I had previously bought. I had always had size small in Smartwool tops, but based on reviews I went up a size to a medium. It seemed too long in both the body length and sleeve length, but the arms seemed tight. The size wasn't nearly as bothersome as the fabric, the fabric was rough and scratchy. I returned this and got a solid color instead. It should be noted if you look at the description details the pattern tops are made in a different country than the solid color tops - the solid color tops felt just like my previous base layer top (soft not rough and scratchy). I think there's a quality issue with the fabric manufacturing being done in different countries. I ended up going with my original size small in the solid color and the size works great - I would not recommend sizing up from your usual size. I took off a star because the price is steep especially since Smartwool isn't fair trade for clothing.

Love these for hiking, skiing, running, around the house and watching sports. Desperately seeking a white version but this is not it. So sad.

Love the softness and reliable warmth of Smartwool.
Was surprised to see that sky blue and rose pink threads are woven into this "cream" colored top.
Quite a surprise !
Could not tell from the website shot.

I am nearly 6' tall and don't have much of a bust. This fits closely but loosely, and is both warm and soft (not itchy). I love the color, and I love how it fits and feels. I wish I could wear it all the time! But it isn't quite dressy enough for work.

I ordered white as in the picture and received tan and some color in it. It's not what it was pictured I was disappointed in company's dishonest with color wise.

My mother who always talked of being cold isn't complaining. In fact, she brags to her friends of how toasty she is now .

The cut on this base layer is really tight around the mid section. It's not the same cut as previous shirts I have purchased. The wool is a bit itchy which it hasn't been in the past. I had to exchange a Medium for a large even though I wore a Medium in the past. Lastly, I use to wear this shirt as a T-shirt on it's own. My past shirts hung nicely, not too tight and not too lose. Not sure if the large will work as a t-shirt. May have to wear under sweaters.

Excellent! The lilac color is beautiful.
Been a Smartwool wearer for about 20 years, so you don't have to "sell" me on it's versatility: snow sports, outdoor winter tennis, kayaking, hiking, or put sweaters with a skirt...
Thank you for continuing to offer quality , Su

Bought this for my daughter for skiing. She absolutely loves it and says it's very warm. She'll also wear when she runs or bikes in the colder weather.

I am really happy with the feel and fit of this crew. An XL is taller, with long enough sleeves for a taller woman (I am 5'9" with long arms and long body), without becoming a tent and long enough in the body so that it tucks in and stays tucked in. I have at least four SmartWool crews now, and I will wind up with more, I am sure, for all the days of the week in winter. Also, the colors are beautiful. I bought a fuchsia and a purple mist heather and I love them both. #sweepstakes

Hands down, THE warmest, most comfortable base layer I have ever worn. I've been wearing the thermal base layer for many years - in the past it has been my go-to first layer on the ski slope, and these days it keeps me cozy warm on cold, early morning hikes with the pup. It's absolutely worth the price tag and I highly recommend for outdoor activities in cold temps.
