Definitely keeps you warm from the frigid cold, , tested it out in Fairbanks Ak from November to March/April and it met my expectations, kept my neck nice and warm, which is vital

I own a couple pairs of these in different colors and they are very comfy.

Wore these backpacking and I was so comfortable in 40 degree temps with wind. I layered them under my pants and will be using these all winter for outdoor activities.

Used a ton, got holes after a while, haven't gotten used to the new waistband yet but it seems good enough. Well-loved last pair so I hope these live up to my expectations

I'm 6" 1' tall and I ordered a large. This is definitely one of the softest bass layers I've ever had the fit the length the cut everything about it is absolutely perfect and definitely recommend it to others

Comfortable base layer for winter hike

Bought these as a replacement for a pair of SW bottoms that I got more than 10 years ago that are worn out. I have been a SmartWool user for over 30 years and these new ones are just what I wanted. Great fit, wonderful feel and the right balance between warmth and breathability. Love it!

These are comfortable and breathable. I plan to wear them as pajamas for use with a down quilt in the backcountry, for that extra bit of warmth, an insurance policy.

Wanted something a bit warmer than my normal baselayer. These are perfect, not too thin, not too thick. They also have just the right amount of stretch and don't excessively bag out like some other brands. I am a 33 waist and went with a medium and they fit great.

The legs are long enough and these are very comfortable.

I needed a good base layer for outdoor cycling during Ohio Winters. Temps can get anywhere down to around 0 (I don't ride once it hits 0 or below), but January & February we're up in the teens and twenties. I wanted something that was Merino wool (for the superior moisture wicking), and something that can keep you warm. I find synthetics like polyester or others are great at one or the other but not both. The Men's Classic thermal base layer bottoms are great, they're comfortable, not too "clingy," (fit true to size), the wick away sweat, and they keep me warm while riding. Kinda pricy, but I expected that when dealing with Merino wool. I pair these with the Intraknit Base Layer crew top.
