They were super tight out of yhe box, but softened up nicely by the end of my first work week. These were exactly what i was looking for, no stitching or laces to burn off when welding. Unfortunately after 3 1/2 months of use, all of the material in my heel has been worn through, including the stitching on my right heel. I have an inch and a half wide hole in the heel of my boot. Safe to say it is no longer waterproof.

I bought these boots at the end of October 2023 and started wearing them in November. Now, understand, I now work in a classroom environment at a program teaching trades. Over 90% of my class time is sitting behind a desk or with students, very little field work, so these boots only see any real wear and tear walking to and from my truck. The inside of the right boot, at the heel. is completely worn through, the lining torn loose, and just generally coming apart after six months of what I would call casual use at best. Heaven help me if I was climbing all over heavy equipment (excavators, scrapers, bulldozers, etc.), in the mud and muck, working construction, etc. like I used to do. I bought these to replace a previous pair of Merrell safety-toe work boots on which the stitching on the uppers just gave way just over a year after having bought them. (Wrote the company about the stitching failure, the answer was it's a few weeks past the one year mark: too bad.so sad) I have been involved with trades requiring safety-toes for 30+ years now, and I am used to getting 2-3 years of use out of a quality boot. I have been using Merrell products for work and leisure for many, many years, and that makes the failure of my last two purchases so shocking and disappointing. (I have one pair of trail shoes bought nine years ago, and while coming apart now, gave me many years of great use.) These will be the last Merrell products I buy, the quality just isn't there anymore.

Least comfortable boot/shoe I have ever worn. Had high hopes of using these boots on my farm property, but too uncomrtable (hurst toes, is not secure to my heel and slippery on minor slopes). Very disappointed my spent money on these. Expected more from Merrell.

I returned these because they did not fit and came damaged. I would not suggest ever buying these. They are not to the quality of other products.

The inside of the boots has a felt/fabric lining, this lining tore and caused the boots to be un wearable within a period of 2 months.

These boots don't hold a candle to the Bergens work boot. They are heavy and clunky. They were not waterproof and the inner liner already separated making it extremely difficult to get the boot off. Why did they stop making the Bergens, their supposed best selling work boot. After getting soaked in the Stronfields, I put on my five year old Bergens and they were way more comfortable. I really wish they would go back to the Bergens. And yes, women wear work boots too.

I bought a 14 because I obviously have a size 14 foot. Yet I can't get my foot down the neck of this boot. It's extremely small compared to the many others I've owned. Looks to be well made. And if it built by Merrill you know it's got to be comfortable and rugged. Merrill is the only brand shoe/boot in my closet. I'd love to get my foot in these boots. Merrillcan we widen the necks just a little bit. Like wide enough that the foot that fits the boot can make it into the boot? I love you guys. But with this I'm disappointed. No worries. I'll still not buy another. It's us til the end.

I ordered these boots for the ease of getting them on and off without having to deal with laces. When they arrived, the foot portion is wide but the neck of the boot does not allow my foot to even put the boots on. there is no clearance for a wide foot. The added leather re enforcement on the sides makes the opening even tighter. do not order these unless you have a wide foot with pencil legs. I am a merrell fan, just not these boots.
