Ordered my usual size, 12 EE. These were about a 1/2 size too small in length and didn’t feel like a EE. Too tight. Sent back.

First up, the Rider 24 is a great shoe. Comfortable, responsive and just real nice to wear for your daily run. I love the new Air Mesh upper and the fact Mizuno finally got rid of the weird nylon strip that connected the tongue to the tip at the front of the shoe, it really hampered breathability. Good job axing it but why'd it take you 5 years!? The padded tongue and ankle collar are heaven - thank you for not making those all flimsy like so many other brands. Tweaks to make this shoe perfect: 1. Slightly lower the weight. The Rider17 was 8.6 ounces, this is 9.9oz (men's size 9). Okay, this is a comfier shoe but I think you could cut it to low 9 oz range. I wear a size 12 so every bit of weight saving really adds up. Definitely the quality materials and cushioning but, for instance, is the extra rubber atop the heel necessary? 2. Offer more colors- where's the plain black with white, or white with say blue? And where'd Mizuno's fun side go? The Rider17 had a multicolored outsole that drew lots of compliments. These shoes, while fundamentally good looking, are just a bit blah when it comes to colorways. 3. I'd love more reflectivity for night safety. Currently it's only the little run bird logo on the heel. That's it, other than this it's a superb shoe. I look forward to every run whether it's long or short in the Rider 24. Thanks, Mizuno!

Great shoe. The color is good, but I wish I just went for a more black based shoe as I feel like it goes with more colors. Love Mizunos in general though!

My husband loves this brand! They are super comfortable and they relieve his plantar fasciitis. The material stretches out a little too fast for the price, which is why I gave only 4 stars for style.

Use my shoes for all my activities walking exercise, the fit is good the only drawback it needs a better insole more support.

I am adding an addendum to my earlier review entitled, "Buyer Beware". I felt I may have been overly harsh in my evaluation and recommendation. I do stand by my observations; however, I would like to add some clarity. The Wave Rider 24 does run long and is more snug in width compared to previous models. I normally buy running shoes in size 12. My right foot is slightly smaller than my left. As a result, the 24 in size 12 was fine for my left foot, too long for my right foot. Because I also have a high arch and instep, combined with the fact that Mizuno did away with the achilles support material in the 24 (cost savings), and the 24 is more low profile (not as deep) as previous models, I found my right foot slipping out of the size 12 Wave Rider 24. When I went a half-size down, the length was fine for my right but too tight for my left foot. If your feet are equal in length, average in width, and you have more of a flat foot, in other words, one not requiring a deep foot bed, you will enjoy the 24. Mizuno has added additional heel and mid-sole cushioning. Many runners will enjoy this added cushioning. I prefer less cushioning. My cushion preference is influenced by the fact that when I ran track and cross country in high school, there were only two running flats on the market at that time. Both flats had 1/2" of cushioning max. I realize most runners today enjoy more cushioning. The 24 delivers added cushioning. Materials and build quality is typical Mizuno. In other words, excellent! The shoe fabric is superb. Colors are nice, but fewer than the 23. Despite the fact that the 24 doesn't fit me as well as previous Wave Riders, and unfortunately, I can't buy this shoe for myself, I acknowledge my situation is unique. I believe the 24 will delight the majority of runners, especially those with flatter feet, a modest arch/instep, average width, equal length feet and a neutral running style. I hope this helps.

Been a Wave Rider since the 15 Series. Put at least 250 miles on each pair then I switch. Sometimes I even had to buy a 2nd of the same series. At 23 Series I was experiencing right ankle pain. This enlightened me to the fact that my right ankle (bone bulging on outside) is actually dropped a little lower than my left. The 23 Series cup under ankle seemed like it was modified to be a bit higher for support and i read that they decreased padding at ankle for lighter weight. The stars aligned as to why, now at Series 23, I was experiencing the pain. It may also just be aging on my part but I do believe it was the modification. Regardless, I couldn't wear them anymore because every time I landed the pain was unbearable. I switched to Brooks Glycerin which had a lower cup under ankle and more cushioning. The ride was nice but it's a heavier hotter shoe and not the ride I've grown to love. Then the Wave Rider 24's came out. I read somewhere that they added back a little more cushioning at ankle so I jumped back on board. So far so good on the ankle, BUT don't wear low ankle socks if you're doing distance. The tag on the tongue curls over top of the tongue and rubs on the mid-top of your ankle and you'll get cuts from the constant rubbing. That's a new one! (See image). I know now, high ankle socks for this Series are a must. Aside from that my runs feel great! Glad to be Wave Riding again. Recommendations: drop the ankle cup a smidge, add a pinch more padding at ankle cup to be safe and leave the rest as is!

Super impressed with the new Enerzy foam in the heel. The Wave Rider continues to blend the line between trainer and fast shoe. Fits a little long for me with no toe spring. For those who need a bit more length and a wonderful transition, this is your shoe!

The Wave Rider 24 has the major update of the Enerzy Foam midsole in the form of a heel wedge that extends up through the midfoot. This makes the ride even smoother and softens the region where the plate was exposed in the 23. The upper does fit a little long and the stitching rubbed on the top of my big toe initially. After a couple runs I forgot about those things. Overall a great midsole update though!

The cushioning is ok, but feels very flat (no arch support), which makes it more challenging to warm up and sustain long runs.

I've been running in Wave Riders for about 20 years. It was the only shoe that accommodated my wide foot, and was great for training, 5Ks, trail races, half-marathons, endurance relays, you name it. I beat on these shoes and they never let me down. FOR ME (I'm sure other people still love it) the latest version just isn't the same shoe. It is still well-made through and through, but the comfort is gone. I had to order a half-size down because the 11-2E was too long. After less than 20 miles in the 10.5 2E's, I knew they weren't working. My right foot hurt and both feet felt like they were in ovens. There seems to be less material overall which makes for a snug, lower profile. I tried to ignore it, but on my third time out with them, I just wanted to take them off and barefoot it home. Again, I bet most people will still like them and even welcome the changes. I credit Mizuno for trying something new rather than relying on and old design. I just wish I had stocked up on earlier versions.

The quality of this shoe is excellence. But I think the service should be improve. I did online order at 9/13. Muzuno shipped at 9/22. I was waiting for a long long time.

Shoes fit well but was disappointed when they showed up and the box and contents wreaked of marijuana. Box stunk so bad I had to leave it in the garage for 2 days before bringing it inside.

I am so confused!I have been running in Mizuno Wave Riders for 16 years! I wore a 7 1/2 for many years. Suddenly, that size felt too small, but I know feet can get bigger as you age. I was surprised that I needed to go up all the way to an 8 1/2 though. I just ordered a new pair of Mizuno Wave Rider 24s in an 8 1/2, and they are a full size larger than my current pair!! Are different factories turning out shoes of different sizes?? I LOVE Mizunos, but I cannot find them in stores. Obvioulsy, I need the sizing to be consistent to order them on-line!

Fit and size are some of my favorite shoes, but they are starting to fall apart after only 6 months. Parts of the sole are coming disconnected from the rest of the shoe on both shoes in multiple spots

13 EE was too narrow for me. Shoes looked nice, but comfort is most important.

I loved the model before this one, bought 3 pairs of them. I was skeptical of moving to the new model but I couldn't find the old model anymore. The new ones do not have nearly the support, it is noticeable. I always hate it when you are forced to get a new model and it is not as good as the prior one.

The Wave Rider 24 didn’t work for me. I have high arches and under pronate when running. The Wave Runner felt heavy and the sole was unforgiving. I returned them after 1 three mile run. Zappos was great in taking the return.

We loved these running shoes! The comfort and fit was great. We got them ahead of school starting and they lasted a few weeks before the lugs started coming loose and then falling off the bottom. We've never had this happen before with a pair of my son's shoes. They became too risky for him to wear after one piece fell off during a run at school.

The sizing chart is wrong. I bought a pair of these for my mother last year. Last year's sizes: US 11.5 UK 9 EURO 43 BR 42 PJ 28.5 This year's: US 11.5 UK 10.5 EURO 45 BR 43.5 PJ 29.5 US size is wrong. It should be 12.5. They are too big. Otherwise good sneakers. My mother really likes them.
