The straps came out of the whole the first week and you can't put them back in.

It hurts to wear because the straps are not padded well and it does not hold much at all

This was the first time I bought anything from The North Fave and I have to say that I am sorely disappointed.
The backpack I bought for my daughter has torn near the seam in two places in the first week of using it. My daughter does not carry heavy books, so there is no reason why this should've happened.
I have written The North Face and am hoping that they have good customer service and make this right.

Bought this for my daughter to use at school. She used it 3 days and it already ripped at one of the top seams. Tried to return it. The color she had was out of stock. Ordered another color and waiting to get it to try again. Hopefully this one will hold up better.

I bought this expensive backpack for my daughter entering into 9th grade. It said free returns up to 60 days. It's only been 2 1/2 weeks and she took it her 1day to school and she said nothing would fit into it but 2 binders. She has 6 and a laptop. This was a false Description & pic of the item. My second graders book bag is twice the size of hers. So now I'm out money for a brand new book bag we cannot use and I'm stuck going to spend $100 on a new one. There is no reason why they could not have taken this back or exchange it for something else and we pay the difference. Btw, my foot is a 7 1/2 if that gives you an idea how small this thing is they lied about. Do not order from them

The redesign holds much less than the previous Jester backpacks. Previous versions held a laptop, one 2-inch notebook, two 1.5-inch notebooks, and an AP book with room to spare. The new design can only hold the laptop and two 1.5-inch notebooks, and this strains the edges to the point I doubt it will last a year. Students no longer use lockers, so this is a big deal. Highly dissatisfied and returning.

I use it for school. Very uncomfortable and it's shaped weird so you can't fit anything into it. Do not buy this if your gonna be planning to be putting textbooks and a lot of folders in it because it won't fit.

I researched bags for 2 weeks before I commited to this one in the fall of 2019. I wanted this for its smaller size and pocket features, and for cost it was cheaper than the competition. That fall I had incredible issues as none of my college texts fit into the bag, my bag became dedicated to simple my laptop and pens/highlighters (the laptop pocket was inconvenient because the lip of the zipper would catch it nearly every time I pulled it out, will definitely be looking in the future for a bag with a separate laptop zipper pocket) and the outside bungie cord held onto my hammock that I took everywhere with me so I could hammock in the park on campus in between classes. The outside pocket takes up space inside the bag instead of pushing out so that took away more space and if I had paperback books in the bottom of the bag I would have to take everything out to reach them. Very inconvenient. In addition to all of this I also rode my bike 3 miles to school everyday, and the flex ventilation did not help I would be soaked in sweat everyday. Now with COVID I only used this backpack for that one fall semester in 2019, I have recently brought it back into action in Granby, CO where I am a camp counselor and we have to have daypacks with rain gear, warm layers, 2 nalgenes, sunscreen, bug spray, and a first aid kit everywhere we go. The first 3 weeks went smoothly with again the space issues where I would have to take everything out to find things in the bottom of my bag. The fourth week hit this Sunday and the zipper has come off it's trak out of nowhere and I've had to resort to safety pinning it until I have a chance to go to a larger city with an outdoors outfitter to pick up a new daypack. The highs here are around 70 and I find I'm still sweating significantly more than normal where the bag rests on my back. I'm 5'2 and the bag has developed a weird curve perhaps because of my torso being shorter and it's not the most comfortable.

My mom bought me this back pack 2.5 years ago when my $15 gas station backpack I had been using for 4+ years wore out. It is a really pretty floral and gray designed Jester Backpack. But this only took 6 months before it began to wear out. The zipper of the main pocket began detaching from the body of the backpack in 2 spots. This ended up creating a hole in the top of my backpack in one of the spots, so I safety pinned it and used the two zippers to come as close at they could to those pins. Now after one year of that, the other side officially has a hole. I knew of NorthFace's lifetime warranty so immediately when the zipper began to pull apart, I looked it up. Turns out that because my mom bought this as a gift and expected it to be good given the price and reputation of northface she did not keep the receipt so I could not do warranty. Even if I skimmed through her emails to find her order confirmation from years ago, I would have to pay for the shipping for them to assess whether or not it was the backpacks fault or mine and I would be without a backpack for 6-8 weeks while they decide if they can fix it for free. As a student who's school is all year round, I could not afford that. Additionally, I knew it was the backpacks fault because I only ever had my 11 inch laptop and one regular sized notebook in it. I am highly disappointed.

The laptop sleeve is said to be 12.75" X 11" but this is NOT TRUE. My laptop is about 9.75" wide (I measured) and it cannot even squeeze into the laptop pocket. Very disappointed because I needed another backpack ASAP. I don't understand why they would put a false claim.
My last backpack was a women's jester and I really liked it. This new one is MUCH smaller. My old one fits my laptop fine. Unfortunately, my puppy chewed through one of the straps. Was excited to get the same bag and I don't understand why they shrunk it 3 sizes.
Returning immediately and now hesitant to buy a different North Face one now that I know the measurements given are false.
Note: I have a 15" MacBook for reference

I'm a college student, so I put my laptop and a notebook in this backpack. After a little over a year, the zipper completely unraveled from the backpack. It did not rip off; there are threads dangling from the zipper seam. It was so poorly made that it didn't even last through two years of use. Do NOT waste your money.

Ripped after 3 months of use by my daughter. Tools it to the North Face store and they refused to cover it under warranty. So much for the warranty!

I strongly do not recommend this product.
I purchased this backpack less than one year ago for school because it was the backpack that everyone had, so I assumed that it must be good. It was not. It is so small. It only fits two of my binders, and the design is poor and it makes it hard for me to get anything out of it. After a few months, the zipper started to give out. I contacted the company, and they said it would take 2 months to repair. I am in school, however, and need a backpack so now I have to use the broken backpack safety-pinned together.
I strongly recommend not purchasing this backpack as it is very expensive and will be a waste of money!!!

I use this product for school. I only put my laptop and notebooks in it (it's too small for most of my textbooks). I've had it less than a year and it has already ripped at the seam of the zipper. Extremely disappointed in the quality and would not recommend to anyone.

I use this bag for school. As a high school student with tons of books binders and folders this does not cover it. It is way too small. I absolutely hate it. I end up carrying so much stuff because I can't fit anything in this bag. I wish I got the borealis.

I'm a nursing student and needed an upgrade from my very old north face I was previously using. I thought this moderately priced one would be fine. Since all my books are electronic, I only have to carry a laptop, a planner and accordion folder. This backpack is so small, it barely accommodates these items and it's a struggle to get things in and out because it's such a tight fit. The zipper is also poorly designed because the teeth are so sharp that when I'm pulling something out, it literally scratches my skin. Also it has two side mesh pockets for drinks or an umbrella or the lime and it can only hold one at a time because it's such a tight fit for everything else. My walk from my car to school is about 8 minutes and by the time I get there, my shoulders and back are in pain. This backpack was too expensive to throw it away but I would NOT recommend this to anyone.

Purchased this backpack for college and walking to classes from apartment. The shoulder straps are so thick and stiff it rubbed exposed skin raw and caused shoulders to hurt from wearing it.

I bought this jester as a gift to someone because I had one myself.. I did not know the women's jester would just be poorly designed from the interior front pocket did not fully extend to the bottom it stopped half way. For it to be the same price as Men's jester backpack is just ridonculous. Also one of the adjustable straps was not stitched, it just came as if. I was happy when it came in the mail, but unpleased when my girlfriend & I unbocked it. The Men's jester backpack still goes hard tho. I'd recommend the women's jester for a middle schooler.
