They keep my feet warm and dry for winter beach walks. I also love them for trail hiking year round.

Love these hiking sneakers, I'm certainly not an avid hiker but we are out trail walking frequently with our pups and try to get in a family hike when we can. I'm not a fan of hiking boots and these are still sporty and sneaker-ish enough that I like them. I was skeptical spending the money but they're worth it. Comfortable, they look good, the sole is moderately rugged with good grip. Apparently the laces are delicious because one of my pups snacked on them and I couldn't tie the shoe. Funny not funny. TNF was great and sent me 2 new pair of laces for replacement! :) Really love most all TNF products

I just moved to the high mountains and wanted something sturdy with good traction (and still stylish) to replace my usual black Nike sneakers I wore daily around town/running errands. These shoes are IT. They have excellent traction yet are low profile and not bulky. They're great on snow and hiking trails, but still appropriate to wear around afterwards too (without that feeling of needing to change out of your bulky hiking boots - my other TNF hiking boots are like that). I even wear them to workout indoors now and love the added support.

Stylish and great for someone who wants the benefits of hiking shoes without the traditional bulky look or weight. They have good cushioning and support and are relatively light. They are true to size but I ended up returning for a half size bigger to accommodate thick hiking socks. The toe box is a good width, not too wide or narrow. I'm a light hiker (a few hours to half days on easy to moderate trails) and I think these are perfect for me. So far, haven't tested out the waterproofing but overall I'm very happy with this purchase.

My biggest pet peeve is wearing shoes and getting your feet and socks wet... Just the grossest feeling! So I bought these hiking shoes (my first time purchasing any sort of hiking shoe) and I was extremely pleased. I wore these around Vancouver Island and was literally walking up streams into waterfalls while everyone else around me struggled. I must have looked like a crazy person because these look like regular runners and here I am just walking through the water lol. The bottom cushion is also a major plus as these are very comfy. I highly recommend! Make sure you size up though, I usually wear 7.5 and got these in an 8!

I'm no trail runner and a novice hiker at best, but these shoes are amazing for hiking! The grip is outstanding and they were a perfectly comfortable fit from the second I put them on. I felt more confident in my abilities knowing I wouldn't lose traction in certain spots. I hope these last forever!

I bought this shoe at the Northface store in braintree MA. They are very comfortable and the cushion is especially well made. highly recommended. I think it can be used for neighborhood walking or mountain hiking.

The North Face's product can't be too bad. I wear size 7.5 and this fits more like a size 8. It's a little stiff. Overall, it's ok.

I have worn this shoe for about one month. It is an comfortable hiking shoe, that i can wear it year around. But somehow, at the toe area, it is very roomy...so makes my toe shifting around...compare to Ultra 110 GTX hiking shoe, the toe area is slim, so my toes are not shifting when walking...but GTX can only be worn during fall/winter season...as it is too hot for summer months....

the shoes are very comfortable and give good support. However, the waterproofing lasts about 2 month. the membrane is too thin; abrasion wears holes in it and then no more water proof.

The shoe looks really nice, but ran slightly small. Usually wear an 81/2 and ordered up to a 9, but toes touched and big snug

I bought these to replace a pair of Ultra 110 GTX trail runners that I use for hiking/ walking. They have a stiffer sole than the previous shoe, and they run a half size smaller. I exchanged the first pair to go up a half size, and have taken a few days to break these in. They have great cushioning and comfort, and the traction is good on pavement, dirt and gravel. I live in a rainy, muddy place, so the waterproofing is good to have. I will get a lot of use from them.

While it is true to size, for a little extra comfort go .5 size up!
Comfortable and stylish both on the trail and around walking shoes.

Tire-like tread feels secure when hiking but lightweight enough to walk and run. Only issue is fit can be peculiar - might have to size down for narrow feet or size up for wide feet. My normal size 8 felt very comfortable at first but my toe box (widest part of foot) tends to splay or spread a bit, which can lead to sore feet after prolonged wear. Still prefer the fit of TNF athletic shoes compared with other brands like Nike (narrow fit) or Asics (short toe box).

I had the previous model of this shoe and loved it, apart from it's NOT A SAND SHOE. They took on 1/2-1 C sand while desert backpacking and I had to cut holes in the Gortex liner to drain it out. New model does not fit me as well.

If I had gone a 1/2 size bigger then what I normally wear it would have been perfect I think.

These shoes are comfortable and held up great for an intermediate 8 mile hike in the snow. Not the cutest shoes but they serve their purpose well. Also no ankle support is you are concerned about that.
