This bag has no disadvantages for me. Two friends have already asked me about it. I bought it at the price of Black Friday, and I feel super satisfied.

I love how compact this bag is. Enough space for my laptop, small purse, keys, a notebook and school necessities. It looks fantastic too. Love it

I was looking for a tote for work - I loved the neon pops on this. I have actually ended up using it as a backpack and love it. As others say, you can't really put anything in the side pockets probably intended for water bottles; they're too small. But that's not an issue for me. Love this bag!

Bought this for my sister and she's loving it. My sister is small and the size of this tote is perfect for her. She uses this tote to carry her laptop and other day to day stuff for work. And the workmanship is simply excellent excellent.

My partner isn't much for backpacks and usually prefers open-top bags instead. This bag has been a great in-betweener that mostly performs like the best parts of both. The bright colors are a nice touch.

This is a great bag and fits all my needs. After reading the 1 & 2 star reviews I was worried because the lower straps with the male clip didn't seem to tuck away! I wrote in to complain and ended up solving my own problem If you watch the video there's a secret pocket towards the bottom of the bag where you can tuck the lower strap away. This isn't obvious from the photos but the video shows it perfectly. Also, the complaints about the size are silly, dimensions are accurately advertised.

As a teacher who rides a scooter to school I love using this backpack and then converting it to a tote when walking around the school. I know exactly where everything is in this bag. Glasses in one side pocket, phone in the other. It's strong and durable and compact. I can get my laptop in and out with ease. The only thing I would change is cosmetic - the black straps look like seat belts. But apart from this minor flaw - I love this bag.

I use this for work and love it! great colors, convent size (not too big or too small), keeps me organized. typically carry my iPad, but can also fit my MacBook Air. Handles are a good length and love that it has the backpack straps when you need them. Only thing I was bummed about was the side pocket appeared big enough to put my water bottle in but they are not. can barely fit my phone.

I wanted a bag with lots of pockets that could be worn either as a back pack or over one shoulder and was tough enough to take everywhere. This is deeper than what I need, but hits the mark in every way.

I carry a bag to work every day. This bag has wonderfully soft straps. The colors and materials are beautiful. This bag fits nicely into my locker. I will never buy any other totes than timbuk2. The quality, design and price are great.

Size is perfect: not overly large, but holds a lot, spacious, has the right amount or USEFUL, and WELL-PLACED pockets. Quality material (Not usually something you have to worry about with Timbuk2), and the back pack convertability is made so that it actually works. I would've loved to have some more options in color scheme, or even better, a tad less of a street look- but I'll survive.

I initially bought this for work. However, I use it as a purse too. I love that it is tall and the material isn't delicate. I can throw it in the car and not worry about it getting scratched or stepped on by my kids. I just ordered the mini bag. Can't wait to get that!!!

My friend at work got one of these bags and I loved it so much I had to get one myself. Perfect size for my daily commute. Holds everything I need, plus a little extra room. Looks so sleek as a tote when I tuck away the backpack straps. Plenty of storage pockets. Love it!

I bought this to carry my laptop and a few work essentials (lunch, a pair of flats, some paperwork). It has met, and even exceeded my needs. The convenience of the tote handles and backpack straps is awesome, and the bag is very comfortable to carry both ways. It's small and lightweight, but has ample pockets for all kinds of ancillary things. For me, I go often go through an "I hate this bag" transition period when I get a new bag, but this one has fit into my life with no angst; I don't miss my old bag at all. Oh, and I love the bright-colored interior - nothing gets lost at the bottom!

I was looking for a new backpack and this is great. It's sturdy with several pockets, but my favorite part is that I can also carry it on one shoulder like a tote. This is handy when I'm in a store or a crowded train and I want to keep my bag safe and close.

I LOVE THIS BAG. If I was an urban academic Disney princess, this thing would be my plucky animal sidekick. My jaunty friend converts to a tote bag so it never touches the subway floor. When we go to a museum, I just stow the backpack straps and make it a tote so I don't have to put it in coat check. It also fits in small lockers, which I didn't realize would be a necessity but has come in handy a few times.
I bought this tote/backpack because I started a PhD program this fall and I needed something more efficient to carry everyday. Yes, it is small for a backpack. I can't carry many books and can only squish a thin water bottle in if I'm traveling light. But I can carry: laptop, charger, folder stuffed with homework, two small notebooks, planner, pencil case, zip case with essentials, umbrella, wallet, keys, headphone case, and a couple more small items as needed. I always have a little room to spare, too. Plus, the smaller size means it never gets too heavy to carry on a long walk.
If you're looking for a bag you can stuff to the gills, this might not be your bag. But if you have to run around town and commute during rush hour with a laptop and essentials, this bag could be your sidekick too.

I use this for work. Laptop, key, AirPods all have their place and are easy to access. The bag itself looks small but doesn't feel it due to its super-intelligent design. The key holder is a nice touch, too, as is the ability to use the back straps or fold 'em away. The only think I might change would be to offer a (slightly) larger model to take on longer trips.

This bag is for daily use. I carry a planner, purse stuff, giant water bottle, coffee thermos, and library books and/or my iPad. I'm in grad school so I always have school materials rattling around with me. There are separate compartments for keeping me organized and I love that this can be a tote or a backpack.
I had an issue with my first bag's stained condition after the post office man-handled my package - Timbuk2 sent a replacement with expedited shipping! I'm now a loyal customer.

Perfect bag for traveling. Love the tote-backpack combo. The size is perfect and the zipper color makes it pop! Only slightly annoying is that there is not a way to put the backpack straps away when using it as a tote.

As a teacher that goes from room to room, this lets me grab the handles and go to the next thing, or use the backpack straps to save my shoulder when I lug home my share of papers to grade.
It fits everything nicely and is easy to carry around all day, yet still looks like a chic tote when I walk into meetings. Highly recommend for teachers, college students, or professionals who are always on the go.

I bought this because I needed a travel bag that could go from tote to backpack. This bag is thin but fits quite a lot. One side holds my computer and I can fit a few books, wallet, makeup bag, anything I need for the day. The side pockets do not fit a water bottle. I knew this after the reviews and it doesn't bother me. I use the side pocket for my sunglasses case and my phone. The front pockets are a decent size as well. The backpack straps can hide in a snap compartment , and there are loops to put the extra length of the straps (not sure if this was the intended use but it works great).
One downside is that a medium or large 3-ring binder does not fit inside. So consider that if you are buying this for school or if you use a lot of 3-ring binders for work.
The backpack fits well on my back and is quite comfortable.
