This is my first time buying Merrell boots. Just moved to the Rocky Mountains and was looking for a good dry boot that can take the punishment of the Mountains. At first the fit and feel were great, I was very optimistic. But my optimism quickly faded into disappointment. Within the first mile my feet were all but soaked. I have always heard great things about Merrell boots but this makes me question the boot. In hindsight I wish I would have spent the extra money and got the gortex waterproof boots as these are pretty much worthless on any trail with damp conditions. Which is every trail here. I would love to enjoy this boot as I love the looks but are Very disappointed and would consider a different brand in the future

These boots are very comfortable, but the first time I wore them in the dew-soaked grass they leaked. I wore them for two weeks during surveying work in agricultural fields and forested areas, the boots continued to leak from the morning dew.

I have had these boots for almost two years and have used them for minor yard work, snow shoveling, and easy hiking. They are the first non rubber/plastic waterproof boats I have purchased. I really liked the lacing system. I wear them about an average of six to eight hours per week. The soles are still in great shape, but the waterproof feature only lasted about 12 months and the black faux leather toe cap material is peeling off around the edges exposing a white absorbant material underneath. Walking through wet grass soaks through to my feet in about ten minutes or less. Will not buy again.

These boots aren't waterproof whatsoever. Got wet socks just by walking on the grass in the morning.

Bought these 8/1/2017 for a recent trip to Wyoming. I wore these around for a couple days before the trip to break them in. They fit well and are comfortable for hiking. I have dedicated backpacking boots which these are not. At 1st I thought they where waterproof the water seemed to bead off them after a couple hikes. Took my dog for a walk this morning and went through some wet grass. Pulled my feet out to see my socks are wet and the inside of the boot around the big toes were damp inside. Not very pleased with this. I've had 5-pairs of the moab ventilators non waterproof that I like, just never the waterproof ones.

These boots fit very well and are very comfortable but not waterproof whatsoever. I've only had them for 2 days and was walking in wet grass and my feet were soaked. Not puddles or by a stream. Just wet grass. I wouldn't even call them water resistant. I would take waterproof out of the title of these boots.

These fit great out of the box. So comfortable I wore them home from the store. Unfortunately, that night I walked through a parking lot in a rainstorm and had wet toes. I still have confidence in the Merrell brand, so I will swap them for the MOAB 2Gore-Tex model now and hope for better results.

I have loved the Moab shoe for many years, best shoe I have ever worn and I have owned many pairs. Unfortunately the Moab 2 is not an improvement over the original. After trying on 3 pairs and finding none that were comfortable(as they once were) I gave up and will now have to find a new shoe. It's extremely disappointing.

Glue won't hold on adult shoes takes a few weeks of heavy wear or a few months of lite wear. But overall its best to use a different company as its all the shoes and boots now

Love these boots, but they offer no water protection at all, period. After returning my 1st pair, Merrel sent me out another one, free of charge, but they did not offer anything differently. What is really sad about these boots are we are only talking wet grass from the dew, not even rain! If you want a great comfortable shoe, these are fantastic, if you want any kind of waterproofing, these are not it!

Moab 2 waterproof is not actually waterproof. I walked in a tiny creek in Redwood National Park, where the water was below ankle deep. Water made its way into the boot and took couple days to dry out.

These boots unfortunately gave me a lot of trouble. The tongue irritated the tops of each foot and caused swelling. I tried several adjustments to the lacing but to no avail. I got blisters on both feet. I wish I could return them frankly because I don't see myself ever hiking in them again.

I am extremely disappointed with these shoes. I was looking for a pair of waterproof light hiker. These are barely water resistant let alone waterproof. Don't but these if you want dry feet in anything but a very light rain

Really wanted to love these boots. They're "Select Dry" won't even stay dry traipsing through a dewy lawn in the morning. Bought these with the intent of having them be my main hiking boot, but when I'm going through the Rockies I don't need wet, cold feet. Also the sole is separating from the toe. This is a flagship boot for Merrell? Can't walk anywhere except dry pavement now.

The shoe wears well, but came unglued after less than 4 months of wear rendering them unwearable.

No arch in sole. Foot insert was inadequate. Bought a new insert. Did not help. Because the boot inside soul is designed wrong. I wasted my money. Should always go to store and try on footwear. Never buy online again

My wife and I bought these on a trip specifically because we hadn't brought any waterproof shoes with us and decided we wanted to stay dry. I'm not exaggerating when I say walking across a dewy grass field will have your feet completely sopping wet. We have them along with another couple we hike with regularly, and another friend, and we have all had the same experience. Super disappointing and now I get to go spend even more on some actual waterproof hiking shoes.

I purchased these in late June, and have worn them sparingly until this week. Fast forward 3 months, today I took a 3 mile hike on a trail that had some ferns and sparse grass, it had rained the night before so the greenery was a little damp - there were no puddles or mud. Half way through the walk, my feet were not just damp, -my socks were quite wet. I'm extremely disappointed in the "waterproof " claim, this is completely unacceptable.

These shoes did not last at all, gaps developed along the sole seam, my feet are constantly wet.
