I am wearing these for the first time and they are a really firm shoe. They are probably going to take a lot of breaking in to get them comfortable. This is surprising to me because I thoroughly read the reviews where most people said these were very comfortable. That's what made me purchase them. Unfortunately the right shoe also has a seam or bump over the spot where my toe joins my foot. That means any insole I'd get to help with the hardness of the sole is going to make the pressure and rub in the top of my foot more uncomfortable. They look great, but the comfort level is just not what I expected.

Out of the box this is a nice looking shoe. They seem well made. When I put them on waking in the carpet they weren't bad but once I walked on hard flooring they felt like I was walking on concrete. The sole is very hard. There isn't much cushion. Too bad.... they are a great looking well made shoe.

For hiking, I find the sole is to flexible, also, I feel it is short on cushioning compared to the other Merrill hikers I wore out.

The shoe was very stiff unforgiving, not comfortable.

Usually merrels fit me well. These do not. They rub my toes and are uncomfortable. I would return them but you cannot if worn. I wore them 1 day.

They are hurting my feet really bad, it's not that they're poor quality or a bad shoe but for some reason they just hurt my feet really bad I was so excited to get this shoe and I wore them a little bit but my toes just hurts so I don't wear them anymore

These are super comfortable for trail running and light hiking. However, other Merrell shoes have lasted me years, whereas these are getting holes in the side mesh after just one year. The material is extremely thin and delicate--not quite right for hiking or trail running.

Super stiff and narrower than other styles I have. Hoped breaking them in would eventually help but after a couple of months an screaming feet it just wasnt worth it. Must rather a wider toebox like the Mag-9s or more flexibility like the Trail Gloves

I have just reached out to customer service - I bought these in July of 2021 and there is already a hole in the heal - I have loved my merrel hiking shoes (x2) and my earlier Siren Edge, so hopefully this is a quality issue they are addressing.

I used to love these shoes, but unfortunately they are not worth for the price since they didn't last much. I just use them in the city, i dont even go to mountains or extreme stuff with them. They both cut on the side exactly in the same place.

The fit and support of these shoes are great. I wear them every day for a beach walk. The netting on top of each shoe started ripping in about a month. Six months later there are 3-4 big tears in each shoe that fill up with sand.

I was so excited to get these shoes, but was sadly disappointed, especially for the price. They are short and tight across the toes, although they're starting to stretch out a little. I should have gotten a half size up, but my first walk was on a muddy trail so I'm putting up with these. They're very hard, and the insole is very thin. I'm hoping that they'll stretch out enough so I can add a cushioned insole, but I doubt that will happen. They're waterproof on the sides but not on top (although it could be due to my feet sweating because they don't "breathe" at all). The soles are great for hiking and they're a very good looking shoe, but that's about it.

I'm on my second pair in 1 year. I do hike a lot but the soles should not wear out so quickly. These navigate and grip well on boulders and trails. I didn't try then on wet rocks. I also think they lack support so I always wear inserts. I wish ALL Merrell shoes would fit the way these do around the ankles. Size 6.

I have never found a shoe that fit so well without coming up too high on my ankle bone. They are not bulky like some other hiking shoes and light in weight. I have a narrow heel and wider front foot. For me they work, but I am not fond of how the soles wear out toward the rear of the shoe. I'm only 100 lbs so I'm not putting a lot of strain on them. I can't give them 3 stars (average) because of that flaw. I do notice that some of their other styles have a more robust bottom where the thread is the same across the shoe. Mine are less than a year old and am retiring them. My montrail are two years old and I've worn them more that the Siren edge 3. I don't see a warranty for these and not real happy.

I have a moderate to high arch and a normal width foot except for my toe joint area, that is on the wide side. I ordered a 7.5 wide and the size is fine for me, they are definitely not too wide at all. The tongue is attached to the bottom where the shoe laces are and on the left foot on the left side it kind of folds too much and the crease bothers my foot. When I fold it in towards the top it fixes that issue. I love the way they look and it feels very flexible, fairly lightweight and easy to move in but the soles are too hard. There isn't that much cushioning at all, so I am returning them.
