Well-made shoe at a fair price. Good support, excellent traction sole. Relatively lightweight. Recommended.

I really like this boot. I'm Old School which means I like my ankles supported and these do the job. I rarely write reviews but this boot I just can't stop wearing it from the day I took them out of the box!

At 60 I'm an older guy but do a lot of hiking to stay fit. I have worn various versions of your boots for a number of years and have always found them to be comfortable and durable. I wanted a pair of boots that would be comfortable on longer and more challenging terrain so got the "mid" height. The first day I logged 6 miles in them and they felt good but for getting used to the higher boot. After adjusting the lacing a bit for the next outing I found they were as comfortable as slippers! I have had them for a little over a week now and have twice hiked 10 miles with no blisters or bruising like in the old days! These boots are light weight, well designed and very comfortable.

Incredibly good looking hiker. Very nice take on the Chameleon, which ensures a dependable fit.
I expect years of service, as all my other Merrells have provided. I have found that the more shoes I own, the longer they last. My way of justifying my large collection. So, these are super cool, worn only 1 day and have fielded several comments. Nothing to complain about here.

Great pair of boots! Comfortable and broke in right out of the.box feel as usual with all Merrell boots. Paid a little more than I usually would but definitely worth it! I work construction and am on my feet all day, I've worn them for two weeks all day every day and no more aching feet! Great support and all around comfort. Love the look too!

I have never bought a bad product from Merrell before and with the Chameleon 8 I still haven't . I really haven't had an opportunity to take them on a good hike yet with everything closed right now with all the craziness going on but I did take them on a 2 mile walk at a local park the day I received them very comfortable and great support . I can't wait to hit the trails with them.

I have used these boots for backpacking, day hiking, upland bird hunting and on two big game hunts. Fairly easy break in, with one caveat; the black rubber over each great toe caused some minor blistering on the upper surface of each. Once I had four day hikes in, the rubbing was no longer a problem. These boots have at least 400 miles in them before the insole and boot padding collapse, are incredibly durable on the exterior, and the sole is tough. All in all a good boot for heavy use.

Great boots, but a little high for "mid"s. These are as high as my previous "high" Phaser Peak boots.

I have logged about 120 miles in these over mostly rough trails. Would like to give 5 stars but the grip is not good enough. These are not great on wet treated lumber, wet logs with no bark, wet rocks, and mud. These should not slip like they do.
Now the positives: These look great and are all-day comfortable. The tread wears well. Waterproofing works great. No problems with materials. I would recommend these to anyone who works indoors or walks only on dry surfaces. I also have the Chameleon flex low-cuts and wish I could put their tread on these boots!

The fit is great could be a little more cushion around the top. I have not had the chance to get them really wet to see how good the waterproof is and that's the kicker right !! I really like the fit and how it feels when I walk . Will let you all know the rest of the story soon !! So far great hikers !!

Initially the shoe was extremely tight, but as I hiked with it it fits perfectly.
The only major issue I have is that small pebbles enter the shoe.

I bought these back in May 2020. I used them maybe a dozen times before the waterproofing disappeared in the left boot. The right boot appears to still be waterproof. The waterproofing doesn't last forever! They are really comfortable though. Good sturdy boots.

I have had this boot for a few weeks and put some challenging miles on them so far. I like the smaller literal footprint of these boots. They work well for the rocky trails here in NE.
It's interesting that the leather upper no longer matches the leather around the toe box.

This boot is lightweight yet tough. Tread is suitable for steep terrain, uppers have resisted scratches and cut two weeks into almost daily use. I work in rough terrain off trail. When in briars (note: website spell check does not recognize this word) laces come loose. I often have to stop and retie the boot. The top lace hook should be replaced with an eye a loops or be enlarged to keep laces on. Probably would not buy this boot again for my use but would for on trail use only.

I purchased this specific shoe for 55lb backpack training, and have been hiking every day for 2 months now with this shoe. Amazing, as with all other Merrell shoes I have owned, almost no break in, and comfortable from day 1. They hold up perfect for heavy loads, perform great over rocky, and slippery terrain, and i am just impressed with the shoe. My only complaint is that after walking day after day in dew/wet grass, a small amount of water is seeping in at the toes.

Good comfort, durability, and fits like a glove. They just don't breathe as well as I would like.

Shoes are comfortable, can hike all day. Only downside, the sole tread is missing huge chunks after a few wears.

I bought these for use in snow to replace my old Chameleons which were wonderful, but now have a hole in the heel after 3 winters. Unfortunately they aren't really Chameleons, they are Moabs and the pinch my feet just like the Moabs. Also the laces are way too short. By the time I expanded the tongue to get my feet inside I could barely make a bow at the top. Without the sock liner they seemed really supportive, but with the liner or an orthotic the pain was awful after a few hours. I really tried to keep these because they looked so nice, but they've gone back

Appears to be a fine boot but is more heavy duty than I anticipated. Looked similar to a previous pair I loved but isn't. The shipment came with no return directions or shipping label. How do I return them?

Material was stiff and produced a cracking noise as I attempted to fit the shoe on me. Very stiff, inflexible material.

These are my cold weather hiking shoes. The seams aren’t properly sealed in one place where they overlap, so water gets in when I’m crossing streams. Since I live in the PNW, I’m crossing streams every week or two so I really need waterproof boots. Otherwise the boots are great - wear out of the box comfortable without blisters, stiff and gripping soles are great on sharp and rocky terrain, and they keep my feet warm when it’s below freezing and the wind is howling. If not for the pinhole leak (where I saw bubbles coming out), I’d give them 5 stars. I still wear them, but I try to keep them above water when crossing streams. I wouldn’t take them backpacking in wet weather, but they’re fine for hiking when you can change into dry shoes and socks at the end of the hike if they get wet. Great on snow too.
