This shoe is the answer to my prayers! I have Morton Neuromas and this shoe takes care of 99% of that problem The 1% is these little round silicone covers that I put over my toes. Between the two I have.zero.pain. I can do everything I wish to do! It's the very deep and wide toe box that does the trick. I highly recommend them! Oh, I went down a 1/2 size from my normal athletic shoe size and they are perfect.

I bought these Trail Runners for both hiking and trail running. They provide excellent lateral support which is so important for trails. Arch support is average so you might need inserts. Plenty of room in the toe box (which some complain about) but I LOVE the LACK of extreme constriction of my toes which most shoes have. They have a very natural feel to them and they didnt need breaking into. Strenuous 7 mile hike the first time I wore them. Love the colors.

These are my second pair of Altras. They are amazing. Plenty of room in the toe box, just the right amount of cushion, and they are super cute too. I chose the "poppy" color (which is a coral/red) which I wasn't sure I'd like... and I love it. Why not be bold when you're getting a hiking shoe?

i live in a small town that has very little selection. The closest store would be at least an hour drive. I bought one pair...had to buy men's. I purchased the same shoe from Zappos in women's sizes. Free delivery! Perfect fit, using their guide. I have a high arch and this shoe does not have any arch support or heel. It is the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. I try to walk several miles a day (I'm 70) and for the first time I did not have the usual calf and shin pain.

I have a narrow foot and it fits perfectly but the laces and design would easily allow for a wider foot. The heel holds my heel in snugly with no slippage. Feel like I'm walking on a cloud but the tread never slipped trail running over wet rocks. I wear an 8.5 and ordered both an 8.5 and a 9. The 8.5 fit perfectly. Well made too.

There’s a lot of room in the toe box, which is great for lots of trail walking and hiking. My only problem is that the top back part of the left shoe digs badly into my back ankle area. It actually made my ankle bleed. But then I changed to higher socks and now all is good. Really comfortable shoes now that that’s been resolved.

I love the wide foot and toe area. It takes a little bit to get used to but my first time out was a 6 mile hike and they were comfortable

Cushy yet minimal. I was looking for a good walking shoe. This is excellent, with wide toebox and lightweight material and even attachment points for gaiters.

Finally found a walking shoe that addressed: Plantar fasciitis High instep and high arch Wide foot Narrower heel Under-probation (supination) Weren’t dorky looking I searched and searched and searched the Internets and this shoe is IT. I love my beautiful red Altra shoes!! I’m a 9 - 9.5 in street shoes, and a 10 in running shoes. I’m also a 10 in these, with plenty of room (commenters had me worrying 10 would be too small but it’s great.) If you have feet like mine, try these. They’re excellent.

These shoes are awesome. They were recommended to me over a year ago and I've dragged my feet and I'm kicking myself now. I can wear them all day They feel like nothing on your feet I love the wide shoe box to accommodate my bunions. I can't say enough positive about them to the point that I've ordered a couple pair for family members. I ordered two pair to try size wise and I went for the larger one which I usually do when sneakers. I can't say enough about it I was afraid they would not be attractive at all but that's not the case. So far I've had many compliments. I highly recommend them.

Ordered this last minute for a 100-mile race & was not disappointed. While I don't recommend running a race with brand new shoes, time was not on my side. When I put them on, I knew they would be good shoes. They just felt 'right'. I did get some blisters but I can't blame that on the shoe-it was a looong race & they were new. No rubs from the actual shoe though. Love the teeth on the bottom for extra grip and the velco for gaiters was a HUGE plus.

Disappointing these ran so small. Going back. Probably would have been comfortable but I'll never know now.

Shoes were too small - probably by a half size. The size being too small really surprised me because I have 2 pair of Altras already - both in size 10.5. I didn’t get too wear them. I will say the sole looked like it had great traction and felt super “sticky” - excellent for hiking. I liked the bright red color for visibility while hiking. Debating on buying a new pair sized up at 11....

I've worn Altras for years. Very disappointed in this year's shoes - they all have such a narrow toe box compared to previous years. I will sadly be exploring other brands.

Was really hoping these would work, unfortunately, it was a big no go. Toe box felt huge; granted I'm used to the old Montrail trail running shoes. I road run in Hokas and maybe I'm just used to zero drop and lots of cushion (need due to old hamstring tendinosis), but it felt like I could feel everything. For me, I needed way more stabilization.

Had to get used to how flat they are constructed but I found them very comfortable.

Was not sure of this brand when I purchased, BUT turned out to be the best shoe I have bought for a long time. Am looking to buy this or a similar style soon.

These shoes are so awesome!!! I first bought them for my boyfriend. He owns a framing company and does not like to wear stiff boots once they get to the roof work. These became his new roofing shoe because they feel like you have Spider-Man feet! They grip so good! He loved them so much we bought him the high top waterproof version for spring and fall. I love them for trail running. ? They make me feel like what I suspect dogs feel like when they run lol I feel like I am grippin and rippin away from the ground. Almost like a cleat but softer. They probably don’t make me run faster but it feels like it!!

I love these. I hiked in them all fall. They are lightweight and great for scrambling and feeling sure footed on the trail. The only problem has been that they very quickly rubbed holes in the edge around the ankle. However, I will buy more Altra for next season and hope that they hold up a little better, but also will keep wearing these. I am 54, have a narrow size 11 to 11.5 foot.

Very happy with these. Got my regular size. Maybe not the most stylish shoes, but the Navy/Light Blue look fine with jeans, which is what I wear most of the time. I added my usual arch support and they are comfy. Love that my toes aren't squished together!

Thrilled that these now are available in women's 11 1/2. I have been buying men's, which are too wide. These are perfect fit!

Perfect for me - on my third pair. I have a wide foot and this shoe lets me wiggle my toes.
