These shoes are really great! The only complaint I have is the loop on the back of the heel. It is not strongly sewn into the shoe. When putting the shoes on, if I pull the shoe over my foot using the loop - it feels (and sounds) like it's going to rip out of the shoe.

It took almost a week to get comfortable. One of the shoes felt tight around the toes. Very comfortable now.

I was having some foot problems and seeing a Podiatrist looking for a solution. I asked him what brand of hiking/casual shoes he recommended. Without hesitation he said the Hoka brand was a favorite. The solution to my problem was to use specially modified insoles to take pressure off my instep. I was not actually a fan of the color schemes Hoka offered in a hiking shoe but found one I could live with and ordered them. My only reservation on the shoes is probably mostly my doing although I think they might run a little small. I think I should have ordered a 1/2 size larger to accommodate the insoles I place in them. i should have returned them and ordered a larger size but tried to convince myself they would "break in" and end up being ok. I think they are great quality but are too tight on my feet to enjoy wearing them too long.

This was a gorgeous shoe that I hated to return, but it was too narrow. Length was true and the toe box was ok, but width was definitely an issue not allowing my foot to comfortably spread out. I wanted to use the shoe as a short distance urban commuter shoe in inclement weather. I found water resistance acceptable, but cold weather insulation was lacking and the option of thicker socks unavailable due to lack of room.

Excellent cushion. Great responsiveness. Ordered wide and still slender toe box. Length true to size. Ok overall. Ordered Stinson mid and was extremely wide and true to fit. Would go that route again.

Nice look. Feel comfortable but are very roomy inside compared with the SpeedGoat, which were very tight in the same size. I'm concerned that I may have too much side to side slip. We'll see after some more hikes. The waterproofing seems to work well so far. My biggest concern is the durability of the soles. They look like they'd be fine on worn trails but maybe not so great for rougher terrain. Hopefully the soles hold up, but the material looks like a weak point. If they don't I'd definitely lower the rating.

Best shoe when it comes to comfort, fit, waterproofness, even thou it is a little on the warmer side. Unfortunately a hiker this is not, it has way too much exposed soft foam a la Challenger ATR which means rocks can take chunks of it out while on the trails. It is also a max stack which means you get little to no feedback from the ground. It is phenomenal for both short and long hikes as long as you don't encounter any technical terrain. Is it comfortable? Absolutely. Would I buy it again? More than likely.

Third pair of Hokas. Thought I would try a pair of boots for work. On my feet all day and these feel great whether I am standing or walking. Only concern, I wanted the Gore tex, but may be a bit warm.

I currently use these shoes for light hiking. I hike around 3 to 4 miles at a time. The terrain varies from dirt surfaces to gravel and some rock. The most impressive thing about the shoe is the amount of padding in the sole of the shoe. While hiking, I hardly feel any of the rocks beneath my shoes. The other item that I enjoy is the traction the show has on rock surfaces. While hiking on moderate trails, my shoes grip the rock surfaces quite comfortably.
The only negative thing I have to say about the shoes is that I'm having a clomping sound coming from my left shoe while walking.

They felt a little smaller overall. The heel drop felt a tad weird but was manageable. The uncomfortable thing about them were the lacings. First there are too many tongue holders and the upper ones didn't really do anything with respect to keeping the tongue in position and were a pain to have to deal with every time the boot was tied. I will laugh if these turn out to be a tongue pull as that would be totally unnecessary. However the worst feature are the quick tie lugs. The space for the lace in the lugs is very narrow and designed to use flat laces only and even the flat laces are not quick to get under the lugs. And last but not least the top quick lugs are too high on the boot, so high that it felt like one is tying the knot on the shin not on the tongue of the boot.

Returned because of pain/pressure point at the outside of the right foot. I have never experienced this with any other Hoka shoe and I have many. Also, I do not like the newer lacing system, where I occasionally "miss" locking in the lace to the boot but these shoes came with a flat lace, as opposed to a round lace and the shape and size resulted in many frustrating misses when lacing up

The 1st hour in this shoe is great but after that the softness of the sole becomes evident. It's gripy but the after the sole lets you feel every rock. I'm a big fan of Hoka but I may have bought the wrong shoe for long distance hiking.

I was size 9.5 in the hoku running shoe, love them and perfect fit. Got the 9.5 in these for a work boot. Too small, should have went with 1/2 size bigger. Maybe even width should have been bigger. I think they'd be perfect with bigger size

Tried using the upper hook eyelets with the lacing inside the tongue guards, as delivered, doesn't want to stay hooked on the eyelets. Slightly better doing the laces outside the tongue lace guards. Haven't worn them long enough to see if they are more cushioned than other hiking boots. The spotty Vibram sole is lighter than a solid one. We'll see if it holds up...
