Love the way the boots make my feet feel, pain free! Took off a star because the lacing/ tongue of the boot is difficult to manage, but that flaw would not keep me from buying these again.

Great shoe for hiking. No more achy legs after a long day of hiking.

My old gortex hiking boots, which I loved, no longer fit, are heavy, and hurt my toe on a particular hike. I am vey happy to say these Hoka were comfortable, sturdy, steady on the downhill slopes on this same hike.

I hate that I have foot issues as an active competitor in some outdoor adventure activities. But very happy to find these boots. I am pretty hard on them and they have been in some wet, muddy, dusty conditions and appear to be holding up well. I would love it if there was an insulated version for winter weather and maybe some heavier traction on the soles. Overall a good find!!

I am breaking them in. They were comfortable right from the start. Issues with top lasso laces coming undone. Make sure they are tight enough

I love the cushy soles but I wish the top, (where the laces start) was alittle tighter. Seems like too much room. Hope I have the right size, maybe I needed a narrow size. I bought womens 8 medium.

Still breaking them in but they are getting more comfortable. I have a hiking sock and liner in them. These are not wide wides but after putting about 18 miles on them they are feeling better. They never felt bad but I was not sure they were going to be wide enough (and I do not have a super wide foot!)

This is a great shoe I use for hiking. Great traction, comfortable, moderate weight, effective waterproofing. I am a 9 in all Hoka shoes so that's what I ordered, but these 9s felt extra roomy. I plan to hike in the cold in these with thicker socks so I don't mind the more generous fit, just something to keep in mind.

Only drawback are the two slots at top when lacing up. They are hard to get the laces in. Give yourself at least five minutes to get your boots on! Other than that the boots are great!

My feet have always been trouble and I have hammer toes and I walk on the insides/instep of my feet. These boots are comfortable and roomy. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is that they are a bit too roomy. I probably could have used a 10 1/2, but I got an 11 because that's the size I usually wear. The problems some people mention with the laces is really not a big thing, and I wouldn't mention it at all if I didn't want to let people know it's no big deal.

comfortable but would have preferred more hook vs eyelet for the laces - difficult to pull tight and loosen to take off.

Very comfortable light weight boot. Had to go size smaller than what I purchase in shoes. Wish ot was available in wide.

Sized down a half size. I'm normally a 7.5 and had to get a 7. It feels kinda bulky but it is lightweight. I had to find a pair of boots with less than 6mm offset per my physical therapist and these were one of the few that listed the offset and had the offset I required so I appreciated that.

I am a Hoka devotee but not every Hoka works for me. For my previous hiker I had the Summit Tor WP. They were pretty good. I switched out to a Spenco insole after a year of hiking but otherwise the boots were great. To replace, I first tried the Stinson hiker but, whoa, they were weird. I have a Morton’s neuroma and slight bunions so I need a comfy toe box and good cushioning in ball of foot. The Stinson has a Huge toe box and overall they felt weird.
The Challenger is much better in the sense that it is more like what I had. No nonsense Hoka. Comfortable toe box, good cushioning. I am able to order my normal size but I would say that the shoe runs slightly large, not in length, but girth, I generally have to really cinch the laces (this was true also with the Summit Tor).
Not a big fan of their new locking grommets for lacing. I know many people complain about lacing issues but I never had any. These grommets may keep laces on but they’re trying when lacing up.

The footbed seemed to be true to size. I ordered an 8 and tried them with my thicker custom orthotics for haulux rigidus. In street shoes, I normally wear between a 7 and 7.5. These were really cute and less cushy than my Hoka One sneakers. The reason that I didn't keep them is because they seemed challenging to put on and take off. Plus, the tops seemed a high. This is my first time trying a Hoka One hiking shoe. I like that it was waterproof. My previous hiking boots were made by Vasque. I wore them for about five years. Eventually, they had become so worn and repeatedly waterlogged and misshapen, I needed a replacement. I decided to try a lighter weight, more sneaker-like option. I'm very happy with my Hoka One sneakers. Maybe I'll try a different model of hiking boot than this. Thank you Zappos. You're the best!

A great light weight boot for walking in rain and snow. The fit is not quite as wide in the front so one spot ribs badly on my old foot.

I work on my feet every day and have to wear inside sole. The hoka are so light that it makes it easy on my feet and legs.
I lime the color for the boots.
The easthatic could use some work.

I bought two different HOKA hiking boots, and these fit my feet best. I tested these with a 5 mile hike and they are almost just what I wanted. I was hoping that the mesh hiking shoe would work, but they made my feet fall inwards. The sole on the mesh shoe looked grippier, too, but there was no way I could wear them. Anyway, these are very comfortable and the grip seemed fine. Looking forward to winter hikes! I purchased a size 8 and these feel true to size. If anything, a bit large.

I gave it four stars not five for the only reason of the top metal hooks, threading the laces through them is difficult and the laces come unhinged.

This boot was comfortable out of the box. It gave me the cushion I love about Hoka footwear along with the stability I need when hiking in technical terrain. The only thing that kept me from giving a 5-star review cholla cactus spikes penetrate the softer sole. On subsequent hike I added an insole as I felt the spike on my heel. Still love the boot. But do wish the insole that came with it was a bit more substantial.

The boots were comfortable right out of the box. I was very grateful to find a quality gortex hiking boot in a wide width as it is difficult. I was happy I could swap out the insole for my orthotic and it fit perfectly. Left on a hiking vacation the next day and loved the comfort and fit. Wish the top lace grommets were metal instead of plastic. Seems like with a boot of this price and quality, they would be. Also would like to see a bit of pink or purple (perhaps laces) to make them more femanine.

Issues with the tongue not being wide or long enough to lace the boot comfortably. I always order 1/2 size larger for hiking boots and these were perfect. I also remove factory insole, and add the women's SuperFeet hiking insole to all my hiking boots.

I really like these boots so far. They're super cushiony and have good arch support! I hope they can withstand the harsh Wisconsin winter, but that hasn't been put to the test yet. The laces are "sticky." They feel like they're lightly coated in wax and don't slip easily. Putting them on is a bit of a task, but once they're on your feet, all is good.

I use this shoe for daily hiking and general all day wear. I have crabby painful feet and this shoe seems like a practical compromise between the tall Stinson and a flat shoe for around town and work wear. I have both the regular and wide in this shoe. Be advised that the regular is very narrow in the heel and the arch (normal in the forefoot) so the wide shoe fits my regular foot better. Also, I wish that this shoe, or any Hoka shoe, was offered in a cool, not waterproof hi-top hiker for 70-100 degree hiking days. Also, the 48 inch laces are too long, just a hazard and a hassle.
