I have been" living" in the Tor Summit Low shoes for several years. They are not available any more so I am trying the Challengers. They seem well made. They are not near as plush as what I am used to, so I am getting used to them. They will be an OK substitute. I have feet issues. Hoka One One are the only shoes I can wear.

I live in a mountain resort community where paved roads are very steep. I was looking for a comfortable shoe that would resist water penetration and maintain grip on wet or dirt ridden paths. Then our first winter snow showed up unexpectedly in early November. So thankful to have these shoes which performed just as I had hoped. I wore shoe gaiters to keep the snow out and threw my chains on the lug sole and I was set and secure for my snowy/icy walks and hikes. These shoes were everything I needed for dry and warm feet! While the dark gray color is a bit boring, the benefits outweigh their appearance.

I walked 4 days day and night trail since I unboxed the shoes. This is a pair of shoes with excellent traction, perfect for hard surfaces, and water proof. However, it is a little different than Bondi or Clifton as it is a little dense midsole. But thanks to the waterproof, I could walk on a rainy wet gravel.

Comfortable out of the box. I have rigid big toe and some painful bone spurs and these did the trick! No soreness or stiffness after walks now - and I now have the support/cushion I need!

I love my Hokas. I have had issues with the inside heel wearing out after a few months. I will re-review and report back

Great shoe. Breaking in before hiking as they are a little tough, but I know once they’re broken in they will be perfect. Some people didn’t like the color, but as a fashionable hiker, I ?? the color as well. Also, I don’t recommend that anyone use the inserts the companies give you. Get your own, but make sure they are the right arch size and have good reviews.

I have lots of feet problems, including bunions. These shoes are light, cushiony and most important work. I know my feet will not hurt when I am wearing these. I bought them for hiking, but I am going to buy another pair just for work. I love them that much.

Love the extra support, more than my nylon Hoka bondi running shoe. I wear Hoka for the cushioned sole per foot surgeon and wear them everyday for walking, errands and shopping. Thank you Hoka!

Great shoe, well designed and constructed. This began as an exchange and the speed of delivery was super fast with standard ahipping. Very pleased and I love my shoes!

I was really looking forward to wearing these shoes hiking this weekend, however when I tried them on, they are a good 1/2 size too big and I have never taken any other size than an 8. So sadly, I will return them for a 7.5 w and hopefully they will fit. My doctor recommended them, I have Achilles tendonosis.

The fit was excellent and they nicely accommodated orthotics. I was able to wear them for long walks right away and know that the gore-tex will keep me dry this winter.

They are water proof-great for slogging through the Maine woods. Stable and extremely comfortable. I only wear Hokas because of my plantar fasciitis. I would give them a 5 star rating!

I need a good supportive shoe for my daily walks now that the weather is changing and my Bondi allow more air flow than desirable in NH Autumn and Winter. The recent rain that we had tested the Challenger and was defeated. My feet remained dry without being hot, and I had great support for my troublesome Feet. I'll buy these again!

With my foot problems, Hoka is the solution. As a former runner, I know how important shoes are to our health. I ran before there were running shoes for women. My podiatrist recommended Hokas and I have never looked back. At last, a fall/winter color with the bonus of Gortex. And they are available in wide for my poor bunions. Thank you, thank you.

This is the first time I have tried Hoka's. My sister suggested to me and she definitely steered me well! I have been working on increasing my walking/hiking more. These shoes are light, have good arch support which is key for me, and give me external support. Felt comfortable from the moment I put them on too. Highly recommend.

I have the Hoka Bondi 6 and compared to that shoe I felt the Challenger ran half a size longer & wider. It is, however, a very comfortable shoe & is waterproof which is important in the Pacific Northwest! I would buy the shoe again, but just in a smaller size.

I'm a runner, crosstrainer, and birder with wide feet. I am deeply, deeply grateful for Hoka's selection of wide womens running and hiking shoes. (I always run in the Clifton 7 wides. While working from home at standing desk, I wear the Cliftons every day. My most comfortable shoes.) THANK YOU. I balked a bit at the dirt grey color of the Goretex Challenger - ideally I'd like a rich cinnamon brown with pop color highlights? - but in practice, the dirt grey did a grey-t job hiding dust on my shoes. Which is fine by me. I'm relieved that these shoes are neither baby pink nor baby blue. Phew. What I care MOST about is comfort, cushion, and support for my feet: I have wide feet made wider by tailor's bunions (outer edge of foot, under pinkie toe). I also have plantar fascitis, high arches, rigid feet, and hyperflexible big toes... point being, my feet hurt, and I need a mixture of cushion, support, width, and space (for custom orthotics). These Hokas deliver on all those points. Wore them hiking six miles last week - and they felt much better than other hiking shoes I had worn the previous trips! No blisters, no "hot spots." My toes and heels were less sore than on previous hiking trips on similar terrain. Thanks, Hoka. Keep making women's WIDE shoes for a variety of active pursuits! I'll keep buying them - in grey, black, and any hypothetical bold stylish colorway you create.

These fit almost the same as the Clifton. The material is stiffer and more dense... as it should be. They are still light and well cushioned. I plan to use them for walking outdoors in the winter when the roads are wet, so I haven’t used them yet. I don’t anticipate problems.
