Wanted to love this shoe so tried indoors with light and then thick socks. The tongue is sewn in place and irritates/hurts the top of foot.

I ordered these because I love my Hoka One One Bondi running shoes and wanted some hiking shoes with that kind of cushioning. Unfortunately, when I put my orthotics in these, they become too tight on top, and the heel is a bit loose. If you have higher arches and/or narrower heels, these may not be for you. Also, they just weren't as cushioned as I had hope for, and with other reviews saying that the treads wear out quickly, I just couldn't justify the price for these.
I'd also recommend:

I'm giving these shoes two stars because they are well cushioned. This "wide," however, is not wide enough. I have regular width shoes from other brands that offer a better fit. The snug fit was okay for shorter hikes, but I got huge painful blisters on pinky toes, big toes, and the sides of my feet on a longer one. It took me weeks to recover. Very disappointed.

I have worn out two Tor Summit low Gor tex hiking shoes. They are amazing. The Challenger is flat with little cushion and no support.

This is a great looking shoe but has no support. I'd love if you would make the INFINITY again.

The shoe is much harder and stiffer to wear. Can you tell me the best way to break it in.

This was my introduction to Hoka shoes. I think the company is on track with their objective of offering a stable, supportive fitness shoe, but for my narrower, smaller foot, I felt like I was wearing clown shoes. The extra wide toe box was too roomy, little arch support for high arches, and truly the ugliest shoe I've ever had on. Orthotics can be added though, for someone who wants to own such a shoe.

My first pair of bonti 6 where a game changer for me, I had a stress fracture of my right fibula and then developed plantar fasciitis. I put them on and had instant relief, eventually I was able to start running again. So when I needed a new pair of course I went with the bondi 7 same size. It has been a disappointment, my heels slip a bit which I could live with but it is like my left shoe is different I feel pain discomfort in my heel and across the bridge of the shoe. I thought I would be a homage customer for life but I guess not which makes me sad.

Loved the color but had to return as they seemed like huge paddles on my feet! Very wide and not comfortable at all.

This shoe is too stiff in material & no support. I wanted to like it because I have several pairs of Hoka Cliftons. I would not suggest this shoe for comfort.

I had to send my Challenger shoe back due to dozing. The 7.5 in the Bondi 7 fit perfect and toe box was great, but the Challenger in the same size was too narrow.

I have been doing a lot of research for the right shoe. I work in a greenhouse and I definitely need a gortex/waterproof shoe. I have a narrow foot as well. I thought I found the perfect shoe per the reviews. Very disappointed. It's not really the shoes fault. The shoe had a different sole throwing me off balance. Not a good idea with a bad back. They were also so clumsy and heavy. It felt like I had cement on my feet. Will continue to search. Return was easy. Thank you.

I wanted to like these. For over 20 years I have bought 7.5 womens running/trail shoes in different brands. This my first Hoka and they run huge in over all size. It feels like I had an 8.5 size on. Sending back.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks or New Balance.

I purchased the Challenger Low Gore Tex because the Summit waterproof hiking shoe was discontinued. The Challenger uses Gore TEX which I found unbearably sweaty. The eVent waterproofing in the discontinued Summit hiking shoe worked , great and it did not make my feet sweat. I am sorry that the Summit is not available.

Gone are the days when Shona hikers were the best shoes I ever wore. I have tried several others after they discontinued my favorite shoe but they leave my feet aching. Super uncomfortable. I wish I could return them. As for sizing, too narrow at the front, too wide at the back. Plus they are ugly.

I ordered hiking boots and have worn a 9.5 for years in my Keens. The Hokas were too big and when I got a size that fit, they were very stiff and uncomfortable .

I've worn a size 9 for many, many years and recently lost 30 lbs. so these should have been loose. They were way too tight and too stiff. I sent both back very disappointed.

Too stiff. Perhaps I didn't pay close enough attention to the description. Wouldn't have written a review other than you've sent several e-mails asking for one--Do you not realize they were returned?

My wife has always been a size 9. Bought her two other pairs of shoes and they all fit. These were too big at 9.
