I have been getting the Cavu for years. It is the only shoe I've ever found that works for me. I hiked 450 miles across Spain in Cavus. I buy the same pair, same size, every year. I have two pairs of the original Cavu, two pairs of Cavu 2, and now I bought a Cavu 3 in the same size I always get - but because they got rid of the tongue and now the opening for your foot is smaller, I can't even get my foot into the show! I can't get it through the opening because of the angle of my ankle and my high arches. This is absurd! I have spent years with the wrong shoes and finally found the right ones and Hoka ruins them. I most of their other shoes before finding the cavus and none were quite right, so now I'm at a loss. I don't know where to start. I've looked for the old Cavu 2 elsewhere online, but since I'm a size 9, which is very common, they're all sold out everywhere. Truly truly stupid move by Hoka. Why mess with a good thing and disappoint your loyal customers??

This is my 3rd time buying Hoka sneakers. I am a runner and Hoka sneakers cradle my feet. I love them and I won't go back to anything else. I have been happy every time. However, this last pair ran a little small. I had to return and get a half size up. And now they feel a little big. Oh well, I am wearing them anyway. Next time I will stay away from this particular sneaker.

I got these before I realized the top of the shoe is one solid piece as opposed to a separate tongue. Which is ok but it makes the shoe fit a little funky for me, less flex and longer than the hapana. It's really lightweight though and has stood up to my outdoor boot camp workouts so far

I love the idea and the look of these shoes. Unfortunately the fit is funny - compresses too much top to bottom. I bought them when pregnant so thought that might be part of the issue but they still have a funny fit 12 weeks after delivery. I am keeping them as easy slip ons but would not buy them again.

I was very disappointed in theses shoes. The tongue is not a separate part. It is all one unit. I could not get my foot into the shoe due to the tightness. I had to send them back. This is my first time having a Hoka shoe not work at all. I also felt the shoestring holes might rip easy. Poorly constructed in my opinion. I will buy a different style next time.

I am a tried and true Hoka wearer, rotating between Cliftons and Cavus depending on mileage, location, etc.. This 3rd Cavu iteration is terrible. The one solid upper with "sock like feel" is deeply disappointing. It suffocates the foot and it is stiff and sloppy. I loved the first and second editions, as they allowed the foot room to expand while going on longer runs. As a lightweight shoe, the Cavu was a perfect balance of weight and comfort. Whoever thought a one piece upper for this fantastic shoe was a good idea should be removed from decision making power. Also, why even put a tongue on the shoe when it doesn't move anyways...its like having handles on doors that won't open!?

Awful. Cavu 1 is balanced, stable, cushioned. Cavu 3 is none if these plus hard to put on

Fit like a glove, first time on wonderful fit. Absolutely love them.

These are the most comfortable sneakers I've owned. Normally I'll wear my sneakers to workout or walk and take off immediately but I forgot I have these on because they are so comfortable

Love my first pair of Hoka. I purchased the Cavu 3, they are very comfortable and my feet loves them. I'm currently looking into purchasing trail shoes.

Love the support of Cavu3. Sized up based on other reviews. Good all round shoe for general wear. Like other Hoka's for Athletics.

I've worn these for everything from walking, hiking and high energy workout classes and they provide great support and comfort, no matter what the activity.
