A loop I can put my fingers in at the back of the shoe above the heel would make going through TSA a whole lot easier for folks like me

I wish they had selections for wider shoes. These are several sizes bigger than what I wear.

I bought these boots as I prefer a wide toe box. I'm usually a size 8-8.5 and ordered a size 8.5 for a little extra wiggle room. Size 8.5 was significantly too small, especially in the widest part of the toe box. I exchanged for size 9.5. They fit much better length and width wise with a little space in the toe. Recommend sizing up.

Great boots. They do fit slightly large which is a good thing for me. Not great in cold or snow which is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

Currently I'm in Peru on a trip. First 3 days we hiked Andes. Pretty rugged uphill from 11,000 ft elevation to 15,000 feet elevation. After that we hiked WIAYWAYNA all the way up to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) to overlook Machu Picchu.
Wet conditions, muddy conditions, hot conditions. These boots/shoes have held up just fine! Still very well intact after some hard trekking. Comfort level could be a little better, but they broke in. No blisters at all in the process. Great traction. Light weight.

The initial fit was uncomfortable as the grommet pressed into the top of the foot. I changed the pattern of the laces from over to under and it took care of the problem.
The shoe is soft all around. It is almost sneaker-ish with a hiking tread. Good for city hikes, however, the question remains, are they supportive and tough enough for the rugged trail? I am leaning- no.

I ordered these shoes for a planned hiking trip. I have worn them for a couple of days and they are comfortable. As the product description says, the toe area is enlarged to afford more comfort. I like this feature though they look a bit clunky because of it. My feet are narrow so the extra width may become a problem. Not sure the heel is elevated enough, unlike mm current hiking shoes. I like the strap that is incorporated into the laces. It will help hold the foot back while hiking down slopes. I really need to wear the shoes on an extended hike to give a positive rating.

First pair had to be sent back under warranty as heel blew out on the inside. Received a replacement pair and insole in the boot would not stay in place when taking boot on and off. Also feel like the heel would blow out again. The boots are very comfortable, true to size with a nice wide toe box. Unfortunately I do not trust the durability for the boot to last more than a few hikes and I am not rough on my shoes...

I have always wanted a hiking boot that is uninsulated, has a gore-tex liner, a Vibram sole, a wide toe box, a low or zero drop, and a classic style without loud colors or logos. I have tried boots from Altra, Lems, Topo, etc. but no one has checked as many boxes as Teva has with the Grandview GTX. Unfortunately, this unicorn of a boot just isn't very comfortable under my feet. The midsoles are pretty firm IMO, and they make my heels tingle and burn. They also make me feel like I'm about to fall over backward when I'm standing still. I suspect that they have some rocker in the sole that is not in the right spot for my feet, causing a pressure point and instability. Or maybe it's the location of the shank, or maybe the midsoles are just too hard. In any case, I hope Teva keeps this style going and I'll try them again next year to see if they've changed for the better. Side note about sizing: I typically wear a men's 12 or 12.5 but I needed a 13 in the Grandview.

I have had these hikers for all of two days now and cannot say that I like them.
The lace eyelet in the tongue is a stupid idea. Makes it hard to pull laces snug after managing to get my foot into the shoe (not exactly easy since the heel pull-up loop is non-existent!). As sold, the laces are skinny and much too short to make a decent tie.
Next, the LEFT boot has the metal eyelet pushing against my arch......very uncomfortable! There is no interior padding to stop this.
On a positive note: The sizing is true and the wider toe box is a welcome improvement. I have found very little "slop" inside the boot and my heel stays put. Now if only the heel loop was there.....

Bought these to replace my Ridgeviews which had fit perfectly in the same size but had fallen apart after a year of use. These are much more snug on the sides of my feet. I thought they just needed to be broken but no luck. I now wear them without the insoles to get more space. I may just donate them. I wish I would have stuck with the Ridgeviews. I thought I was upgrading. My fault for not getting the right size. But still frustrating.

Really tight construction over the mid foot, which can't be adjusted. My feet get "numb" to it after about a mile, but it's a relief to take them off.
After 4-5 hikes in these I really wish they fit better over the middle because they're solid boots otherwise. The footbed is true to size and allows for some decent toe splay.

Overall the boot is comfortable and secure on foot. However the main issue I have is the tread. Although I haven't taken on the trail I did wear them outside my home during a light rain. As soon as I came inside and stepped on the tile the bottoms began sliding around almost causing me to fall. These things are slippery and offer terrible grip. I'm hesitant on crossing streams and stepping on logs or rocks that have algae on them. The grip is so poor that I'm cautious

Shoes were really hard getting on and off due to all the lacing intricacies. Felt much lighter than I expected, Will look for something less complicated.

I've had many pairs of hiking shoes and most of them have vibram outsoles. It seems like you need a bit of luck to get a pair of good vibram outsoles that's actually grippy. It works fine on trails covered with leaves but I don't just wear them on trails. I found it very slippery on manhole covers and a versify of other metal surfaces when wet. It honestly caught me by surprise. It's a route I often walk on and the same surfaces feel more slippery with this pair than a pair of Converse. I know that they have many different rubber formulations that's supposed to have varied performances under different conditions so I am only comparing the megagrips. I've owned another pair with vibram megagrips made by The North Face for 6 years now. It's no longer waterproof but it's got the best grip of all of the hiking shoes I ever own, even on icy days.
I must say though, this pair (the grand view) has the most excellent waterproofing material. I had my foot in the tub with the water as deep as the height of the shoe collar for 30 minutes and no water has penetrated.
Lastly, if you buy one, make sure you have the shoelaces on tight. If the shoelaces is loose, the shoe tongue moves around when you walk and chafes your skin. Happened to me when I was testing it out on a short hike. Walked for about 30 minutes and feels my skin hurting. Checked it and there was blood. I haven't have any issue since after I've tighten up the shoelaces more though.

I bought this product because since Teva bought out ahnu I figured the quality of the ahnu boot would be present in the Teva boots sadly it is not.
Ahnu was so incredibly comfortable Teva is not in a boot I am so disappointed I have to find another company that provides a wonderful boot the way that Ahnu did.
I'm still giving three stars because they're very lightweight and I'm hoping that eventually they'll break in and get comfortable.
But the Ahnu boot had zero breaking. So I was expecting the same since Teva bought out Ahnu. Ahnu NEVER hurt my feet.
I'm already getting some pain with the Teva boot. Again due to the light weight I'm gonna hope that in a month or in a couple weeks it will break in and be at least somewhat maybe almost as comfortable as there Ahnu boot was.
Teva please follow the exact design of the company you purchased when you make your boots otherwise this is not gonna work.

I love the style and the fit of these boots. But being waterproof and goretex these do run very hot and your feet will sweat and get unconfirtably hot. In New York where I am from it is currently winter time and they are bearable outside with the cold. But inside the house you need to remove them ASAP because they get uncomfortable and feet get very sweaty. They advertise for weekend hikes or day hikes but I couldn't imagine treking around in these in the summer months. I really want to wear these shoes year round but I do not think it will be wise or even possible. I decided to keep them for a seasonal shoe/boot but I have to keep hunting for a spring/summer shoe. They should be advertised a little differently in the description I believe.

I was really excited about getting this boots. I did read the reviews and thought, ok well one unlucky guy got a pair that had one defective shoe as it was tighter than the other..! Well, that makes 2 of us. My stronger, slightly thicker foot is the right foot. Yet the left shoe is the one that is too tight at the point were there is a seem on top of the foot/toes line. Quite noticeable pressure there. A pair of boots worth $170, should fit impeccably. If it would fit just like the right one, they would be just really really good. RETURNING THEM...I have owned three pairs of Teva’s, between sandals and shoes, and always used 10.5.. I ordered 11 in this case cause of the reviews, and it seems accurate size,....just defective pair I guess..!!!!

I have been wearing teva boots for the past 5+ years and they were great. When I needed a new pair the style I wanted was no longer available so I thought i would try this style. I would not recommend them because because they are almost impossible to get a tight fit. The lacing is awkward to deal with and I ended up relacing them and they are still loose.

TL;DR: boots are quite wide, but low profile, and have very little cushion in the midsole at the ball of the foot. Not as good as the women's model.
I bought the men's Grandview since the women's model is just barely wide enough for my foot and I wanted just a hair more volume in the boot. The men's boot is absolutely has more width, but the boot feels like they took the same amount of fabric for the upper and just put it on a wider base, resulting in a lower profile fit that wants to crush my foot flat. Worse though is that the midsole is very hard specifically at the ball of the foot, which is not the case on the women's. I tried using the insoles out of my other pair of Grandviews with no change in the comfort just walking around the house and outside; I can not imagine how painful these would be on an actual hike.
It is very rare that I say this, but the women's boot is actually a better design on this shoe, even with the slight fit issues I have with it. I don't understand how this boot is so much worse in the mens fit.
I will be returning these and continuing the hunt for a boot that actually fits my foot right

The model I tried on in store felt very different. Better support and seemed to be easier to put on. The one that I received 2 days later is extremely difficult to pull on as it has no loop on the back. I have to almost completely loosen the laces or crush the back of the shoe as I try to psh my heal in. The laces on the shoes I received are too short so I have to make sure I pull all the slack and re-snug every inch so I have enough at the top to toe and then the loops are so short I can't double tie it.
A previous Teva boot I had was one of my all time favorites as far as fit, finish and durability with one exception. One of the top lace hooks snapped on about my 10th time wearing it. I took it back to the flagship store in Goleta but since I had waited almost 8 months from purchase before I ever wore it and then only wore them 2x a month my "1 year" warranty had expired. I was not happy they wouldn't stand behind a product that was clearly not even worn in let alone abused. When I went to purchase the shoes in my review above the boot model I wanted had been discontinued.

Great stylish shoe undermined by springy gel insoles like you can buy at Walgreens only ten times as springy. Very strange sensation that one does not get used to.
