I have used Teva products for over 30 years. They are not the same. I understand all things must change but these have not changed in a better way. Sandals costing over 100 dollars should last more than 6 months. I used to get anywhere from 18 to 14 months from a pair but no longer. I thought it was a one off but this now seems the normal, sad.

Heel is too high and the straps dig in. I've been wearing Tevas for 20 years. They looked the same, but weren't.

A few complaints with these sandals replacing my 10 year old Terra fi lites. Cons: 1. My feet sweat in these even indoors in 70* air condition. I've never experienced this with my prior tevas. This is my 3rd pair. That makes the footbed slippery while hiking and collect dirt/dust around town getting your feet dirty. When the sweat does dry up it has a sticky feel. 2. The neoprene padding stays wet for an incredibly long time after river crossings even outside in the heat and they feel quite heavy when wet almost like the foot bed fills up with water or something or the straps hold a lot of water. 3. The foot bed gets very slippery when wet from water crossings, my feet were wanting to slip out of the sandal and really put the straps to the test. 4. The colors are off from the pictures in the carve bison model and the Gemline Total Eclipse model. The gemline model in real life has blue edged straps not black. The carve bison model's colors are slightly tweaked to look more vibrant online. It is more dull and the inner strap colors are actually more purple than blue. Someone needs to color correct their monitor or photoshop the pictures with the product in hand to better match it. Pros: 1. Teva supports the LGBTQ community. 2. The foot bed has a nice amount of arch support. 3. They have good traction and are stable.

The quality of materials has lowered, as has the fit/finish of the product. Both the ankle and heel are rubbery/stiff, not very pliable and create hot spots. The padding around the lower ankle locations are hard and dig in, creating an uncomfortable feeling as I walk. Cosmetically the color doesn't match as well (minor I know) however I ordered olive and what I received was much greener, to the point someone asked why I bought green sandals.

I've owned 2 pairs of Teva's since I started wearing sandles 30 years ago. I've tried the Terra Fi 5 around the house. I just can't get confortable with them. There's an arch support now that I can't quite line up with my feet. The triangle on the inside of the ankles isn't comfortable and it looks like the will wear through quickly. I like to keep my sandles loose on the top but tight front to back to keep my feet from overheating. I can't seem to do that with these and have to keep tight on all sides because there's no clip to hold the settings...so my feet are overheating. I might have to return and go with a different brand.

My dad was originally super stoked to have these sandals. They fit well, have great arch support and we're overall very comfortable. He's worn them a handful of times last August and this July and one of the straps came out of the sole. These are not fit for moderate use. What's CRAZY is that he still has his tevas from the 90s!!! Wears them every year!! These new ones lasted 13 months and a total of 2 months use. I wish I could attach a photo :(

I bought a pair of Terra Fi 5's n 2021. Because of Covid and only being worn in the summer they are generally in good shape... however, there are holes in the balls of both shoes. It seems to me that they are still in good enough condition that this should not have happened. I am disappointed to see that they still have the same style sole as I assumed others have had the same issue.

Initially you'd think you found the holy grail. They are great for going to the bar. But the pad on the inside captures moisture and debris like no other. I will guarantee the majority of folks blisters if you do any kind of water/beach/extended hiking in these. Either sweat, that one piece of sand combined with water or whatever it may bethe design of these sandals was so close. The inside ankle pad is the killer. So unfortunate.

Love this shoe - great support and comfort for an all day wear while walking or playing in the backyard. The reason I gave it only 2 stars is that this shoe doesn't come in a size 15 anymore. The reviews say it runs big so I ordered the size 14 but sadly it doesn't run big at all - heel all the way back and toe completely to the edge, no matter how loose I make the strap on the back side. Teva, please make some big boy sizes so we can enjoy these sandals!

I've had these for about a year. They were a replacement for a pair that was 12 years old and had hundreds, if not thousands of miles on them. From the start the fit on these was inconsistent and I had trouble not getting sores / blisters. Then today, the glue gave out on one of the straps. I'll be following up with Zappos and Teva to try to make it right, but if you haven't purchased these yet, I'd say skip them. Save yourself the hassle; the quality is definitely not what it used to be.

I ordered my standard Teva size. Where the strap that goes over the front of the foot comes out of the base to the point that it returns to the base is 1/4 inch narrower than my other Tevas. This is enough to be too narrow. I can't go a size larger, as I already do that. I don't understand. Why make them narrower than the other styles? Besides that, they felt great. But I have to return them.

I got blisters on both of my big toes because the toe box is not big enough; I tried adjusting all the straps to no avail. Not sure if teva changed the design but this is my 3rd pair and never had this problem before

Replaced my 10+ year old Terra fi lite with the terra fi 5 universal, which a very good pair of sandals. However I can't wear them because the ankles straps are way too long. When the straps are fastened snugly there's about 2" dangling off the of sandals.

It would be way better if Teva offered a sandal for men that had a strap through the big toe and next toe. The sandal would be much more secure in wet or muddy conditions. Instead your foot slides around. Not the best sandal for the river and shore.

Bought a pair of Tanway's years ago and wanted to replace them So disappointed that they are not available. Materials they use now don't measure up to 10 years ago. Had I known this I wouldn't have wasted my money.

I wanted a high quality walking and hiking sandal. I tried and compared the Chaco Z/1 Classic, the Teva Terra Fi 5 Universal, and the ECCO Sport Yucatan. All three are top notch hiking sandals rated very highly on many hiking sites. The Chaco was the best looking sandal, but also the most uncomfortable with a very stiff footbed. After adjusting it to a perfect fit, my feet still slid forward and back on the very flat footbed. The Teva was more comfortable, but not well made -- glue (not stitches) held the soft padding to the coarse straps. The glue was not holding very well even on a new pair of sandals. The ECCO Yucatan was the most comfortable by far, the most supportive, best designed, and made with much higher quality materials and craftsmanship than the other two. It looks stylish too. It is also priced somewhat higher. To me, the ECCO Yucatan was by far the best of the three...and the comfort is awesome.

Did not make it through 2 summers. Maybe I expect too much, but I seem to remember tevas lasting a bit longer.

I must agree with other reviewers, these don't hold a candle to my 20-year-old Tevas that I was trying to replace. They look good, but they are too long, not wide enough, and the straps bother my toes because the placement is closer to them on my foot than it should be. I'm glad Teva is using recyclable materials, but it seems to be at the expense of comfort and good fit, compared to their old-school models. I have returned these.

This was a replacement pair for the sandals I chose/bought at a local retailer. Unfortunately, these do not have the easy clips I prefer, hence i must adjust the Velcro straps every time. Also, the cut of the toe strap irritates my small toe on each foot...this was not the case with my first pair. I would not recommend them to anyone.

The sandal is sturdy and well built, and generally comfortable. However, when hiking for long distances and the sandal is dry it will give me blisters where my forefoot contacts the strap anchros. When the sandal is wet, the friction causes blisters faster and in more locations.

I have worn Tevas for decades. Size 9 1/2. 9 is too small and ten is too big. It makes a difference having something on your feet that fits just right, like your sandles used to do.

I owned these sandals for one year and they are falling apart. The heel and side started cracking early on. I have owned Tevas for over 20 yrs. and I'm very disappointed. Also they have stretched out making them not true to size

I've worn Teva's since the late 1980's, as many have and they lasted 7-10 years. The material and quality are now extremely poor and it seems intentional. My one year old Terra Fi 5 Universals are already wearing holes through the thin sole material before the tread pattern is even worn at all! This is after I had to repair them myself to keep the ankle straps in the foot bed after they pulled out. All these complaints are numerous and verified. These sandals are failing and will likely fail you when you need them most. Buyer beware! In the trash now and safe to say won't be wasting money on another six month pair.
