My second pair of Tevas. The first I worked really hard for many years, repaired and re-repaired. I didn't want to let them go. And they kept going. Wasn't confident that I would find their good replacement as I have a hard time finding shoes that fit well and look decent. But these, after a month of real use, are looking and feeling good. I wear them hard outdoors too.

Good arch support and cushioning. Not good walking on wet rocks.

I really like the sandal. I like the fact that these have the padding under the straps so that they don't rub blisters in my feet. They do feel a little heavy...probably because I'm coming from cheap flip flops. Not a bad trade off to get all the added benefits of these.

Walked all over Havana/Cuba and Cozumel/Mexico without any incidents: no blisters, no slips. I never thought I'd enjoy wearing theses but now I'm a convert!

Very comfortable but they pick up rocks like crazy and I can't seem to walk in loose dirt and gravel without getting sand/rocks under my heel/feet. I have to stop and get the rocks out a lot.

I have had several pairs of this style. The last two broke by the ankle strap pulling out of the sole. This pair was bought to a pair that were only 1 year old (I live in Iowa so not worn year round) and Teva would not replace for free. So trying one more time then may need to move on. That is the reason for a 3 rating.

The soles are like walking on marbles.
A space between the 'gripping' parts is 'missong' that is to say, there is no steady foot fall.
I would not buy this modrl again.

I have been wearing these sandals for 20+ years. I have very wide feet and spend tons of time outside. I used to tell people that there was literally nothing I wouldn't do in these sandals. Each pair would last about 3 years with near constant use (yes even in Midwest winters, you just wear nice socks). My most recent purchases all failed after about 1.5 years. The straps now pull out of the footbed. The padding around the plastic pieces near the ankle now fall apart, the straps don't stay in place though the plastic pieces; many small things that add up. I still buy them because there isn't a better alternative, but I doubt I would have ever started if this was how they used to make them. Sadly the quality is terrible. I still cling to 3 old pairs from before they became crap. Please bring back the old design. I would happily pay more for a high quality product similar to what you used to offer.,

Rubber not as soft as before. Use offer order resistant sole but no longer. Overall quality and offerings for male sandals is lower.

For years, like 10 - 15 years, I loved my Teva's. I told everyone how great they were. Just a month or so ago the strap fitting gave way so I ordered the best Teva's that were available.
When they arrived the first thing I noticed was they didn't use the snap fastener but instead used velcro to take them on and off. I liked the snapping clip but I thought no biggie. But, when I put them on the rubber, or composite used was very hard and not very comfortable. I put my old ones on and the softer soul was like an old friend to my feet. Maybe they need 'broken in'? It sure didn't seem like they would ever 'break in' because the harder material just seemed to be a lot less pliable and far less quality. I thought Teva probably saved money going to a harder composite. I will give them a try.
I took them on a trip to the Cayman's this past couple weeks. I usually like wearing my Teva's the whole trip - in water, hikes, around the resort, etc. All that did was give me blisters. I will wear them occasionally from now on, but I'll be on the look out for my next pair of durable, good looking, and most of all, comfortable sandal.

Since I live in Sweden, we can wear sandals for about 4-5 months per year. This means it took about 18-20 months for the sandals to break. At the beginning of the summer, they started developing small holes in the sole. But now, as summer comes to an end, you can see through the sandal. The quality of the sole is extremely poor, as it took less than two years to break down. I can no longer recommend these sandals. They are comfortable, but they wear out far too easily.
My last ones lasted for 9 years, and those years was I very active.

I really like the sole of these Tevas, loss off sorry on the heel and arch. I also like how beefy the doors are and the extra padding on the straps. The one thing that would make these 5 star is if they had the buckle strap closures, like my old hurricanes, instead of the Velcro. The Velcro can sometimes be uncomfortable and it gathers debris and wears out much faster than three rest of the shoe. Please bring back the old hurricanes using this newer footbed platform.

I wear these rafting, other water sports, around town, camping and short hikes. They are comfortable and have good traction. They aren't durable though. I was recently on a multi-day rafting trip in the UT wilderness. when crossing a creek, both heel riser straps pulled out of the sole on the left sandel. They were just glued in. Luckily I had a backup pair of shoes to wear, otherwise, would have been a disaster. Going back to a competitor that also has seen a decline in durability.

THESE TEVAS LOOKED GREAT- but there were HEAVY. I ordered them twice, second time to give them the benefit of a doubt. I returned them both times and went with the TEVA HURRICANS instead.

I hate to say this is my third pair and I have been very disappointed in the previous two pairs.
I found on my previous pairs the sole separated far earlier(2 years) than expected. It must be noted that the reason I keep ordering the same style and brand is other than the sole separating regularly the sandals are outstanding and I have never found a brand other than Teva that made a good knock around sandal.

Firt bought some basic sandles to replace a part that a foster dog chewed on. The basic pair had the triangle strap holders right where the little toe is. Needless to say, both toes had major blisters by the end of the wear. So I purchased theHiking sandles. Much better. But I keep looking at my older pairs and all of them (3 old pairs) do not have the triangle junction for the straps. They all lasted years with no discomfort at all. In fact those sandles were my go to shoes even in the winter. (I live in the mountains). Now I have a pair of sandles I will not wear and a pair I have limited faith in due to the triangle piece. Do I need to look elsewhere?

I've only put about 10 miles on this pair so far, so it is waaaayy too early to rate them, given that the previous pair, for which the current pair are a replacement, BROKE after about 50 miles. So, we'll see.

I wanted to replace my old Tevas when the sole started to separate so I bought this pair. My old Tevas have a pattern cut into the footbed (where the sole of my foot sits on the Tevas). Hard to describe, sort of a paisley pattern. The new Tevas had a smooth footbed and I just didn't like it as much, so I returned them.
Shoegoo'd my old ones and wearing them now.
If Teva had a comparable sandal with the pattern in the footbed I'd buy them. I saw some that had a pattern but they didn't have the same heel.

After using and absolutely loving my hurricane xlt2s I was ready to upgrade to what I thought was the top of the line Teva. Build construction is top notch and the extra padding is nice but these are giving me weird blisters on the insides of my foot just below the ankle. I've tried adjusting them a few different ways but wearing these for longer periods of time creates these blisters. Bummer because my xlt2s never had that issue. My xlt2s would rub on the front strap and I was looking forward to the extra padding there on these. That issue is gone but this new issue remains.

These were the best saddles I had, but they didn't even last me a year. I live in Texas, where it's hot enough time wear saddles 90% of the time. I also work as a lifeguard, and saddles are practically a requirement. These did the job, but after a few seasons of wearing them, they just fell apart. The soul area of the shoe started pealing off from where the straps connect. The bottom of the shoe has so many holes in it. I was unable to wear them before the year was up. I love the shoe, but I need something more durable. Something I won't have to buy every summer.
