I loved my old Nimbus-18s, and I was hoping to get another pair. Something terrible has happened to the design of these shoes since the 18s. Or maybe the pair I received was a result of a manufacturing defect? I can't imagine anyone designing $100 sneakers this uncomfortable on purpose. My 18s felt like bouncing on a squishy cloud. The 22s feel like walking barefoot across cheap office carpeting. You can make a SLIGHT dent in the insole if you press really hard with your thumb. The shoe was rigid and did not bend with my foot when I walked. It clomped. The last shoes I tried that felt this uncomfortable were $17 at Walmart. So disappointing.

I have been brand loyal to Asics Gel Nimbus for over a decade. I have run marathons and half marathons in my Asics Gel Nimbus 14 and 15. (I am a size 7.5M in regular shoes and buy size 8M for running shoes.) I love them so much that even though they are torn and worn down, I cannot bring myself to throw them out. I also own the Asics Gel Nimbus 20. The toe box is significantly smaller and my toes hit the front of the toe box and there is less padding then in the 14 &15. Desperate for a new pair, I ordered and received the Asics Gel Nimbus 22. The toe box is slightly bigger than the 20, but not by much and certainly not close to 14 & 15 levels. And it feels like they’ve downgraded the quality of the rubber from earlier versions so it feels more like standing on styrofoam than rubber. There’s no bounce. They just felt hard. Additionally, I supinate and have extremely high arches. (Plantar fasciitis flares up usually once a year and I have custom orthotics for training.) If you look at any of my shoes, you’ll see the back outer heel worn out. Oddly, the Gel Nimbus 22 felt like there was more support and padding on the inner heel rotating my feet (ankles & knees) further outward. Not only were the 22’s not comfortable, I was worried about potential injury. I begrudgingly returned them. I am now on a quest to find a new, high quality running shoe that provides the support and comfort similar to the Asics Gel Nimbus 14 & 15. If anyone has any suggestions (that are also relatively fashionable looking), please let me know.

This is my second pair of these an both have hole in the toe after not much use. Bad quality on top of shoe that causes discomfort

I have been wearing ASICS Gel-Nimbus for years. Loved the 16,17, and 18’s. The 19’s were not my favorite, that is when the overall fit and quality of the Nimbus started to go downhill for me. I had a few pairs of the Nimbus 20’s and they were ok in quality and comfort. Well my first pair of Gel-Nimbus 22’s and a few months of wear (walking and light jogging), there are already 2 holes in them! For $150 they should last longer than that! I love the look of them but the quality isn’t there. And the comfort that I used to love about the Nimbus isn’t as good as it used to be with earlier styles. Very disappointed. ASICS bring back the old Gel-Nimbus!

I wear an 8 1/2 in every pair of Asics I've owned-currently have 2 pairs in 8 1/2- and these were soooooo small. I double checked the size on both of them, that is how small they are. They also came in an unmarked box, not an Asics box as they usually would from Zappos. I felt like I honestly even questioned if they are real because of the packaging and sizing. This has never happened to me with Zappos. I've been ordering from them for years and years and always felt like everything was top notch. These seemed like what I would expect ordering from Amazon...like they might be from anyone's basement and thrown in a box. Not pleased. OH and in addition to all of that, they weren't as good looking as Asics usually are. They look cheap and tacky honestly.

I ordered two pairs of Asics in this order has I had such a great experience with Asics in the past. But I was very disappointed because, 1. I believe they did something to the sizing. I could not get my foot inside the shoe. 2. They appeared cheap and nonsubstantial compared to the others that I have owned. Sorry, Asics. Had to send back.

ASICS has always been my go-to running shoe, but this shoe, Gel-Nimbus 22, was a disappointment. It felt clunky, not light and sleek like previous ASICS in this price range. It also ran narrow in the toe box. I returned it.
