Customer Reviews New Balance Kids Fresh Foam Arishi Trail (Little Kid/Big Kid)

So bummed because I thought these were not tie shoes based on the picture. There are other New Balance Arishi shoes that have laces but are slip ons. (They just have the elastic so your foot slips right in). I thought these were the same based on the picture and the name, but then they came and they are legit lace up/tie shoes. Our son is super picky about having his shoes "tight" enough and so we can't do velcro or tie - it has to be a shoe with zero adjustments (weirdly enough!). These shoes fit great otherwise and look awesome too but we had to return based on the misleading photo. Wish I could find more slip on styles that also have laces that don't tie!

Seriously nice shoes. New Balance seems to be the only kid/adult brand that doesn't skimp on quality of their kids shoes.

The description of the this shoe is wrong. I ordered because I believed these were the traditional lace up. This are not. I order size 12 for my son and they had the elastic laces so they slip on.

Wide New Balance are really the only comfortable shoe for my 6y/o with square feet. I was confused by the conflicting reviews, but the pair we got are true tie shoes, not elastic laces. I was disappointed in this, because the elastics are so much quicker for him to do himself at day camp. He thinks they are really comfortable, so I guess it is his time to learn to tie shoes!

Ordered size 1.5 for my son - they are absolutely true to size and he loves them! The pull tab in the back is extra big, which makes it easier to get his shoes on. Very happy.

Nice looking shoe but because it was a slip-on it was a bit tight. The shoe was uncomfortable for my son when he tried them on. I have to return them.

Half of people say this has laces that tie and half say it's slip-on. I got the slip-on versions and wanted lace-up. Need better product description and consistency.

My 8 year old grandson said the shoes were comfortable.

I bought these for my son. They seemed a bit big, but we're still trying to figure out his current shoe size. The colors look nice and the loop on the back of the shoe makes putting on shoes easier. We ended up returning because he found a pair he liked even better. I considered keeping these for a back-up pair since he had some room to grow and they are really nice.

Love these shoes. I was so disappointed with other brands who’s bottoms wear out in a week. The New Balance shoes are built to last and will withstand the normal wear and tear that boys go through with sneakers in the summer. The construction and material seem higher quality than other brands.

New Balance is the best!

These are the elastic laces! Easy to slip on for younger kids. I was worried they were traditional laces because of a previous reviewer, description and an answer on the product page, but I’m happy I went with my gut after looking at the photo and comparing it to the sneakers we have that are the same brand and style. There must be an error somewhere as there is another product that looks the same on here, but the laces are traditional. You can tell by the top lace when there is a hole and not the squared off edge of the elastic lace sewn into the shoe. We have had great experiences with these sneakers and they are our go to for our Kindergartner.

These shoes are perfect for my 8 year old that hates tieing his shoes. Elestic laces that are snug without cutting off circulation are perfect. Plus the shoes are stylish. Thank you New Balance!!!

My son is very particular about shoes and thankfully loves these shoes. They look great and are holding up good so far. My son has a wide foot, so we got the wide.

My son absolutely loves these shoes! His old shoes still fit so I wanted to put these aside for a few more months, but he insists on wearing them! Great quality and fit.

Great pair of shoes. I ordered a smaller size for my younger son. He liked them so much I had to get a pair for my older son.

These sneakers are so cute and cool looking! My 5 year old son LOVES them! The design is great, he says they're comfortable, and the fit is good also. I love love love the look of these and they fact that they're also comfortable. We loved them so much my husband got himself a pair in the same design!
