Fit is amazing. I have a somewhat wider forefoot, and these felt like they were custom made for me out of the box. Did a PR 3 miles out of the box and my feet felt great the entire run. This is my 3rd in the Fresh Foam Heiro line (v2, v3), but these are by far the best. Will have to wait and see how they wear, but I’m very pleased so far.

I have a very difficult foot to fit. Small size but on the wider side.. one may have said like a duck.. this one fits perfectly in a 2e...I wish that new balance would make this model in a gortex waterproof version! I will buy another as insurance, new balance always takes a great shoe and either discontinue or change them horribly..

I’m a medium width foot. Most shoes are too narrow so I get the wide. The medium on this was perfect, the wide was too wide. They broke in and gave up a little more room. Tons of cushion, very comfortable.

These are awesome. I don’t understand why there isn’t more buzz about them. I personally love the look. They kind of remind me of the Nike ACG line from the 90’s. Super durable Vibram outsole. Very very comfortable Fresh Foam Midsole. A little tricky finding the right tightness after lacing up. The mesh has a TPU coating as to weatherproof them and should keep the looking good for a long time. They don’t feel heavy on foot they feel nice and balanced.

Chunky Heavy, & Bouncy. If you can handle the big-ness of these then you will be rewarded with a plush ride. If you are looking for fast and light look elsewhere.

This is my second pair of Hierro V5s and they are the best trail running/hiking shoes I’ve ever owned. They’re extremely comfortable right out of the box, have excellent grip and exceptional cushioning. My first pair survived around 700 miles before the cushioning started to go but they’re still in great shape overall with a limited amount of wear. I have 2 minor annoyances with the shoes: 1. The lacing system takes some getting used to - it doesn’t seem like I can get them really tight on slippery terrain. 2. The extra rubber on the heel constantly flips mid and debris up the back of my legs when it’s wet out (I think they were a little too clever for their own good with that feature). Neither of those things is a big issue - I’ve tried so many other trail runners, including several of the “zero drop” shoes, and like the Hierros much better than any other other shoe I’ve tried.

My favorite shoes in a decade. These check all the boxes for me. Sturdy and grippy, these give immediate confidence on trails, even after light rain. Still, they manage to feel light and plush on pavement. Excellent versatility - I can wear these all day, regardless of terrain and setting. Aesthetically, you're either going to love or hate the extra bit of rubber on the heels. It's pronounced, but I was used to it after about 30 minutes. Contrary to other reviews, it absolutely HAS NOT affected the way I walk. I've never caught it on a step, caught it with my own feet, or had any other incident. I think it's a really cool addition that gives these a really distinct look. Color options are awesome and I love the almost splotchy design. I can wear these with jeans, shorts, you name it - all the splashes of color really make these look fine with anything (if you're like me and like the style to begin with). Finally, I continue to be impressed by the build quality. These straddle that durable/comfortable line very well. I'm totally comfortable throwing these in the back of the car, scrubbing off mud, wearing in all terrain. You know from day one that you don't have to baby them and worry about materials tearing or fraying - they're in it for the long haul! I like these so much that I now own 5 pairs in 3 color schemes. I'm rotating 3 pairs now and expect them to last a long time. Grabbed another two pairs in my favorite color scheme so I have new ones after these are out of production. Hope this helped someone - they've been worth every penny to me.

GOOD: These are comfy, very well-made shoes, comprised of durable materials. Excellent cushioning, and some great grip on that Vibram sole. BAD: The heel slippage is a deal-breaker for me, I had to send them back. I tried thicker socks, and even some Dr. Scholl's inserts to see if I could fix it on my own and keep these kicks. No luck. Farewell comfy NewBalance, we barely knew ye. SIDENOTE: Why would you buy your kicks anywhere but Zappos? Most shoes aren't perfect. Zappos is. Zappos is perfect. KNEEL BEFORE ZAPPOS!

I've been a NB fan for a while... these are were meant to replace some 1080s that were a little too snug. Also rotate with pair of On Cloudx and Ultraboost 19s. So I didn't NEED them desperately, but I am so glad I pulled the trigger (and went half-size bigger than last pair). These are so cush, comfy, supportive right out of the box. They make me want to go on more runs, and go further. Great for dog walks too. if you're on the fence, just pull the trigger and you're going to be glad you did, just like me.

Shoe is extremely comfortable and provides good support. Wear with orthotics, no issues. Get used to a serious chunky scale compared to other shoes, but will be a welcome sight on uneven trail!

The shoe looked great. The shoe felt great! For two days i was so excited to wear these shoes because they just made knees feel great! Then around 5pm on the second day i went to take my dog on a walk. I don't know what happened, I stepped off of a curb and I felt like I broke my foot! I could barely walk home. The next day I woke up feeling fine. No pain whatsoever. The prior day was just a fluke. WRONG. I put these shoes on after work and literally 5 min later my foot pain came screaming back. Needless to say I never wore these shoes again and that unbearable pain never came back. Weird.

They were very comfortable. However, for some weird reason, at the heal of the shoe, there is a 1/2" tab of rubber hanging off back of the rubber sole. This is a serious trip hazard when going down stairs. Looks really weird as well, like a mistake.

These might be the best shoes I've ever owned! I bought these for disc golf, which unlike traditional golf, is a light trail hiking adventure. I can't think of a single complaint! They've been ridiculously comfortable since my first lace up, they're lightweight, they're super grippy on wet teeboxes, and they look rad! I'm considering buying a second pair of the waterproof GTX version. 5 of 5 stars for me.

Accurate sizing, nice arch support, feels like I’m walking on pillows. Not the sexiest shoes on the planet but very comfortable right out of the box.

Very comfortable! I have slightly flat feet so I was worried about the arch being uncomfortable but the fit is perfect. So glad they fit because I love the style. They are trail running shoes but I’m looking forward to wearing them casually.

Excellent shoe. Extremely comfortable and they look great. I’ve put 10 miles on them so far. Really love them.

I have a lot of problem with foot pain and I bought these shoes for camping. We do a lot of walking and hiking and even with orthotics these are the most comfortable shoes I have.

I run canyons -- so lots of ups and downs, rocky terrain. More gravel than dirt. So far the tread is fantastic and supportive. Love my purchase. Hope they come back with to these with the BOA option.

My husband LOVES these shoes for running. After he wore them we immediately bought a second pair for when these wear our. He has a hard time finding EE. He said these are perfect width and are like running on clouds.

These fit great right out of the box, the wides are great, would actually order wider if they made them. But overall I’m very satisfied with styling, they’re well made and comfortable.

Excellent fit. Very very comfortable. Made my knees less sore and eliminated my back pain.

They look huge, but they fit perfectly!
