I have am prone to tendonitis and plantar fasciitis in one foot, and I overpronate quite a bit, so I am most comfortable in shoes with firm arch support. Based on advice from a local sports shoe store, I have primarily worn Mizuno Wave Riders with this store's very expensive custom orthotics or with PowerStep OTC orthotics for the past 10+ years. I recently tried the Mizuno Wave Inspire 15 and this Mizuno Wave Horizon, along with various Brooks and New Balance shoes that were recommended for overpronation/stability. I was pleasantly surprised that this shoe felt very comfortable straight out of the box. (The Inspire took awhile to loosen up, but feels great now.) I occasionally feel like the Horizon may run a bit loose on the sides (i.e., slips around a bit on trails, but good on pavement), and I find it my go-to shoe at the moment. It has plenty of toe room; I typically buy a 1/2 size larger running shoe than street shoe, and that worked for this shoe. I ordered the blue and the red, and the blue was a bit darker than I expected based on my computer screen. I have worn this shoe for walking, running, and aerobics, and I've been pleased with the overpronation support.

I use the the Wave Horizon for runs anywhere from 5-10+ miles. I have a flat foot and loved the wider toe box and "springy" feel of the Wave Horizon 3's. I just did my first run in the Wave Horizon 4 and am NOT happy. The toe box is noticeably narrower and shorter. I also feel like there's no cushioning under the forefront and it felt like I was running directly on the pavement. I also didn't feel the "spring" in this shoe that I did in the previous model. These shoes will be going back. If you are just wearing them casually, they're probably fine. However, I didn't like running in them at all. I wish shoe companies could just leave a good shoe alone....

I've had these shoes for about 3 weeks now. I bought them to walk/jog/exercise in only. As a larger person who over-pronates and has flat arches, I need a quality shoe. My ankle pain totally went away with these shoes. They are fairly firm, but light and comfortable. I ordered a half size up, and they fit perfectly. I've never paid this much for shoes, but walking pain-free was worth it.

These are my running I try to only wear them when I am running, just to make them last longer. I enjoy the wide toe box, my toes have plenty of space. I appreciate that I am able to use my insoles in this shoe without my feet being crushed in the middle. It feels like there is more padding in the front part of the shoe so definitely a great shoe for someone who runs on their forefoot/ middle part of their foot. The only down side to this shoe is that I wish the shoe laces were longer. I usually have to re-lace my shoes differently prevent the heel from slipping (also known as the butterfly lacing), and it just didn't seem like there was enough length of the laces to allow me to do that. I will post a picture to help you understand what I am saying. The shoe on the left is with the different lacing.

The Mizuno Horizon in Mauve/Cayenne is a beautiful shoe. All around, I love Mizuno's aesthetics ... and when you find the right color combination, it can break the mold for what you look for in a shoe. That's the way I felt about my Mizuno Wave Sky 1 - which lasted me about two years, but now rub against my heels. So I ordered the Horizon 4, thinking that I would benefit from a stability shoe. I also ordered the Asics Gel-Kayano. In trying on the Asics, I realized ... my left foot is neutral, but my right foot pronates (likely from an injury last year). Even though the Horizon is less of a corrective shoe the way the Asics Gel-Kayano is, I've decided to return the Horizon for a neutral shoe - and I plan to use an orthotic insert to give support to my right foot and balance out my stride. Still, if you over-pronate, look into the Horizon, and buy a whole size up like everyone recommends.

I contacted the company before hand about a shoe for my severe overpronation. They recommended these shoes! I have never tried Mizuno shoes. As a runner, I have worn Asics for years. I have to say this Mizunos Wave pair is by far the most comfortable shoe I have ever ran in hands down!! Thank you for the recommendations!

I use the sneaker for everyday use. I need a lot of support and the shoe keeps my foot in place, no sliding around.

All Mizuno run at least a half size smaller than comparable brands (Brooks, Hoka, Ascics). But they are by far my preferred running/walking shoes. They fit and support well and are comfortable with a wider toe box.

Most comfortable walking shoes I've ever owned. No break-in time required, excellent support and fit was perfect (based on size chart used on Mizuno site).

I love Mizuno shoes. This is my first pair of the Horizon 4 Running Shoe but actually prefer the first 2 pair that I had because they felt softer (more cushion) in the heel. Do not like the laces at all. However, overall they are a great shoe.

I like Mizuna, this style was not snug fit for running and this style was too wide at top of the foot. I will try the horizon 16.

I use this product for running. I was in hopes this new version4 of the Wave Horizon line would be as great as the Wave Horizon 2 & 3. No support across the foot, it felt like I was walking barefoot, very poor cushion throughout the shoe, especially for the ball of the foot. I gave it 1 star because it comes in very nice colors, but that's where it stops for me. I am very disappointed in Mizuno not being able to keep the great Wave Horizon 2 fit. It will be returned.

I’ve tried sooo many pairs this year of stability shoes as my feet are flat ‘ thin. I’ve had Mizunos in past years but recently got some Brooks Bedlam 2s that I love. Tried ON, Hoka Gaviota, ASIC Gel Kayano, -these way out win! Light, stable, good arch support, not huge wide toe box and not too Marshmallow y under my feet. Winners! TTS. 8.5 and that’s what fit!

Outstanding quality. Material is well ventilated. Lightweight. Feels good on my skin when I don't wear socks. Grips securely when walking on loose dirt or slopes.

I bought my first pair at my local sports shoe store and found the exact same pair for thirty dollars less at Zappo's. The Wave Horizon are nice and cushioned and very comfortable for my daily five mile walk.
