One of the only customizable items in a Soldier's repertoire are their running shoes. As a running coach, it's wonderful to have other leaders regularly compliment that choice.

I've been kicking these around for years now and every time they don't disappoint! Why mess with perfection - thanks Altra! My go to fast trainers and racers. They even hold up well for Halfs and Fulls. If you dont have a pair in the closet or in your rotation - why?

I'm an overweight woman with a slightly fallen arch on my right foot. I've lost 70lbs and needed a lightweight shoe with arch support so I can progress from walking to jogging easier. PERFECT SHOE!!!

I've tried so many running shoes including all the major super shoes. I always come back to the Escalante Racers. I use them for training and racing both. Typically get about 400+ miles out of them.

I only recently discovered the racer was a 'remake' of the escalante 1.5 with how the toe box feels and minimal cushioning and I feel in love again after having the escalante 2 & 3. best feeling run!

I've been on the barefoot journey for over a year now and was hesitant to use any shoe with a cushion or non-zero drop. Then I realized the pavement is just brutal with barefoot shoes and I stopped running. Enter my search for a zero drop, foot-shaped shoe with minimal padding. The Escalante Race ticked all the boxes for me. They're super light and highly breathable and provide just enough padding while running on asphalt without feeling like I'm totally cheating on being a "barefoot" guy. If you're trying to compromise between being a committed barefoot person, while also not hammering your joints while running, look no further.

Great for tempo and and races up to half marathon. Will try on my next long run and have a feeling they will work just fine. I've been very happy with this shoe.

i was on the fence about what size to order. i am my true 9.5 in the escalante 2.5. i bought these in a size 10 and very happy with the choice.

I love these shoes and have had several pairs but I can't for the life of me understand why they don't just come out with the color in black. It's honestly pretty ridiculous and while they seem to have caught on with their other models, I wish they were just make a pair of these in black. I would buy another pair today but I'm waiting for a not so god awful color to come out.

This is the only shoe I can find out of their selection that has any flex to it. I would love to have a couple different choices on materials and a little more cushion. I think if they made their other does more flexible it would solve the problem.

I wanted something light and low to train and race in. This fits the bill and it looks good doing it. Very breathable as well.

I absolutely love this shoe. I bought it to use as a race day shoe but I'm considering just making it my go to shoe for regular use of all different runs. They feel great. Lightweight and lock to your foot really well. And with not much between the road and my foot, I feel the shoes are incredibly responsive. The only downside I could see is that they might wear out quicker due to not much rubber there. I've worn them for 5ks, 10ks, plan on wearing them for a half marathon soon. Love them! and the color schemes available right now are eye popping.

I have a pair of Boston Escalante Racers that I enjoy running in. Once I saw Colorado Limited colorway I had to place my order! Please keep making these limited Escalante Racers.

The Escalante Racer gives the feel of the surface and a thin, high quality sole. It's my go to shoe for EVERYTHING (training, racing ...). The only change I'd request is to re-offer white fabric.

Keep making the racers! The Escalante 3.0 is no longer true to the Escalante model but fortunately the racer gives you what you are looking for. No excessive cushioning and plenty of flexibility.

Exactly what I was looking for. A perfect road shoe with just enough padding and a flat, wide bottom. The only possible downside could be the open mesh design that could let in debris. But I'll take the trade off of the excellent ventilation all day every day. Love these shoes.

I have tried many shoes with all the super foams and super high stack and the Escalante Racer is most comfortable because it feels like nothing is getting into the way with how my feet and body want to move. Each time I get plantar pain or knee pain from other high rated shoes I return to these and all my niggles fade away without lowering running volume. These are the true Allrounder super shoe!

I have finally found the perfect shoe for my foot after 20+ years of running. I run without socks for triathlons and out of the box did 4 miles with no abrassions or even hot spots from seams inside. I always have to tape inside seams after a few miles with any other shoe. They are the perfect neutral, zero drop without being fully minimalist. They are an island of peace and sanity in an industry suddenly hellbent on making the thickest sole possible. I train and race in these for everything from 5k to marathon, trail and road. I hope they never stop making them.

Introduced to zero drop shoes by daughter. Best move I have made. Running is a pleasure.

I own an assortment of running shoes from all the different brands. Super shoes, carbon fiber, high stack, low stack, expensive and affordable. Nothing feels better to me than the Escalante Racer. I forget I'm wearing shoes when running in these. Upper is breathable and secure. Midsole is responsive and comfortable while still allowing road feel. I feel like a kid when I run in these. I enjoy them at all speeds and distances. On my second pair and hope will buy more as needed. You can get a ton of mileage out of these as well. Altra - PLEASE don't change or discontinue this model!

I mostly wear these in the gym. I over pronate when i run so i wear different shoes for running
