Perfect fit but measure a size smaller on the Merrell size chart which needs to be fixed. Also he is not very wide so a wider foot might. It like this brand

Our 4 year old loves these shoes and found them to be comfortable right away and easy for her to put on by herself. She gets lots of compliments on the color! She wears them as every day shoes but we just took them to Joshua Tree national park and they worked great for day hikes.

My son (Age 6) loves this sneaker and he was a toe walker so I needed to find shoes that allow for an "orthodic insert" so these fit the bill. With a bit of peeling you can get the sneaker insole liner out and easily insert the orthodic. These shoes also come in Wider Width which is essential to make space for orthodic and my son's higher arch. Great quality shoes. They took a beating and held up. The only problem is the velcro strap does tend to separate from the leather that crosses over the top of the foot. It still works just fine. But, Merrill, at this price point and due to your reputation for good quality shoes, you should take note: the velcro should be sewn on tighter.

My son just loved these! He wore them for the entire week we spent hiking in Utah. No complaints which is unusual for him. He still wears them around town.

My 4yr old son’s first pair of hiking shoes were a hit! He went on his first hike on vacation and even wore them in the river. They were perfect, and comfortable, and came in handy in sand and dirt trails. Its so hard to find good trail shoes in toddler sizes. Thank u Merrell!

Bought these for my four year old son who needed better shoes than his everyday sneakers for our frequent hiking excursions in Texas. I bought a half size bigger to give him some wiggle room and room to grow and he loves them! They've done well on rocky Hill Country trails and, providing they still fit, he'll wear them in Rockies this summer. The treads are great and the soles seem sturdy and he can run up trails much better than in his Nikes! They're also super easy for him to get on and off himself!

I bought these for my 7 year old son in June. It is now November and they are still in great shape. Ill also add that its the only pair of shoes he wears, EVERY day so they have really been used. He may just grow out of these before I have to replace! Money well spent :)

These shoes appear to be well made. They worked great for my little ones on a recent hike that involves walking on rocks and walking by a stream. They are hefty, solid shoes with good traction. They are not water proof but I don't think they claim to be. Both of my kids like them. I ordered a size too big initially and had to go back and order a smaller size. If I had to do it again, I would definitely measure my child's foot before ordering!

These are great for my active 3 year old boy. He wears them for hiking, playgrounds and preschool. They are very easy to get on and off and super easy to clean. Will definitely repurchase in his next size up when the time comes.

We bought these shoes for our NH visit. They were comfortable right out of the box and my daughter wore them on a long hike right away. Great for jumping over rocks and balancing while stepping through rivers. She was able to get them on and off quickly and easily herself. Fit true to size.
