This is difficult to write because I have owned 5 pairs of Levitates (1, 2, & 3s) and loved them so much I switched over from Ghosts after 10 years of exclusively wearing Ghosts. With the redesign of the Levitate 3, Brooks added a tab behind the heel of the shoe to help pull it into place thus adding a seam to the back of the shoe. This design caused the back of the heel to sit differently and constantly rubs against the back of my ankle causing blisters. I thought they would break in after a few weeks, but they didn't. I loved Levitates so much I actually bought another pair of Levitate 3s to see if it was just the first pair that caused the rubbing pain, but sadly no. I hope Brooks reconsiders the design for Levitates 4.

I was hoping for a shoe that was light and felt like I was floating; however, this shoe did not do that for me. advice to anyone is to wear the correct socks so that the tabs behind the ankles do not disturb your comfort

I loved my Levitate 2's but the 3's just didn't do it for me. The full sock upper was too tight on my foot and the sizing was much different than the 2's. In the 2's I wore a 7 1/2, I ordered the same size in the 3's and couldn't even get my foot into the shoe. Unfortunately I sent them back and am now hunting for my next great running shoe. Hopefully they go back to the old design with the next generation.

I absolutely love Brooks, i usually get the Ghosts but I wanted to try something different. I ordered my normal size (5.5) but alas, these were not for me. They were waaaaay too narrow and caused a great deal of pain while running. So, I returned them and went back to the Ghost 12s.

I just wrote a review on "performance" and gave this shoe 5 stars. Now I'd like to comment on an issue I don't care for. I don't like the shoe laces that came with the 457 color (bluish-purple-grayish) shoe. They are sort of a dark grey. I bought some replacement shoe strings to change the color. But, now I find out there is no way to change the originals out. The front 3 holes on each side are too compact or maybe even stitched down which prohibits the ability to run the laces through.

I absolutely love the look of these shoes. However...the new semi-attached tongue makes typical shoe lace adjustments impossible. If the shoe feels a little tight, it's going to stay that way because the tongue is attached at the sides and can't move, except for about two inches at the top. These shoes hurt my feet so bad after just one day of wearing them I had to send them back. Brooks--please stop attaching the tongues!

The redesign of the heel is terrible. The stitching left my upper heel blistered and bleeding for weeks after trying to break in the shoes. I loved the Levitate 2...the 3, not so much.

This is only the 2nd pair of Brooks I've tried. I loved the color and was so excited to try these. I wore these once for a short distance run and have the WORST blisters ever. They scraped my achilles. The sock feel is too stiff for me. Too bad.

Torture devices. The 'sock-like fit' has destroyed the back of my ankle. I am currently running in bandages..in different shoes. Please stop changing your shoes; runners find the right 'model' and rely on consistency. I am realizing I may not be able to rely on Brooks and may need to switch brands. Done wasting money; cannot even wear these.

Unwearable. They have a stiff part that rubs on the my Achilles. At first i thought the size was just too small. But it was even worse with a bigger size. I've been running too long in my life to put up with painful shoes. Please bring back Levitates 1, 2, and 3

I bought these sneakers with the hope that they would be great for running. However, the lining of the back of the shoe has no flexibility and after just one wear the back of my ankles are scabbed. I've tried wearing thick long socks and yet, I am regretting this purchase.

The backs dug into my Achilles' tendon and gave me a bruised heel and blister on one foot and a completely bruised and swollen Achilles on the other. I haven't been able to run without pain and taping fir two weeks.

Not really loving these, they feel slippery underfoot so I to be careful when incline walking on the treadmill. I feel like the Tread grip is weak.

I LOVED the Levitate 1 and 2. It's a little heavy, compared to Launch, but comfy for long runs and doesn't wear out! But the Levitate 3 is a different beast. It fit like I'd put the shoebox on my foot, instead of the shoe. The ankle collar seems higher too and rubbed a blister before I ever started running in the shoe. Will try to get the early models while I still can. Not sure what happened with the upper but there seems to be a lot more of it.

I took the Brooks shoe fit test and these were one of the best matches for my needs. The toes area was a little tight but not unbearable. However, the back of the shoe puts a lot of pressure on the back of my ankles/ Achilles' tendons and rubbed them raw after wearing them for 2 miles. I will be returning these.

I love the look of this shoe. However that is where the love for me stops. The shoes are way too tight on my ankles and caused me to develop blisters that bled through my socks into the shoe. I am training for a half marathon and took these on an 11 mile run. The store I bought them from issued a complete exchange/refund. Brooks itself is a good brand of shoe but this model is not the same , "Brooks," quality. I do not recommend this shoe.

Not a fan at all...the sock like feel of the top of the shoe makes it difficult to get on and off and they are way too restrictive on the ankles

They are so very uncomfortable not only to run in but to walk in as well. The back of my heel has gotten blistered and it feels tight around my arch area. I love the levitate 2's. Can I exchange them fir the levitate 2 please?

i have LOVED the Levitate 2's and was so excited to try the 3. Unfortunately, it didn't fit my foot well. I twas big in the back and super tight at the front. I actually sent them back an have been searching for 2's...as well as seeing what other Brooks shoe might work best.

These were so tight in the lacing area that I couldn't get my foot into them! And the heel was so deep it cut into the back of my foot.
