Ariel 20 inside padding does not feel as soft as my previous Ariel, rather hard cushionnig which does not make it comfortable for standing all day at my job.

The quality is nowhere near what it used to be. What happened?

Do you know how many times I have said, "If I could combine the looks of _&%@#_!+ (on my feet right now) with the support and energy of Brooks, I would be Brooks' biggest fan. I want and NEED your shoes, but I WANT and need your shoes to be super stylish. Master all of that and you'll conquer the market. Commission in the form of cute Brooks gladly accepted :)

As other reviewers stated, I felt these did indeed run small in the length. Though I liked the gray/green color combo, I was not too thrilled with the fit and style, so ended up returning them. Zappos is great about the ease of returning.

I returned the shoes. I ordered a size 9.5 2E but they fit like a 9. I have a pair of Addiction GT 15 size 10 2E which appear bigger than a pair of Ghost 10.5 D purchased at a local running store. I have also tried the Adrenaline in different sizes. I went to the Addiction because it states a insert (orthotic) can be used better with this shoe and it had good cushioning. I have tried the Addiction GT 15 in a 9.5 2E but again it didn't fit quite right. Bottom line is the size in length and width don't appear to be consistent in any style I've tried. It is hard enough to find good running shoes (I use my for fitness classes and walking as well) but to have to order on line makes it more difficult. I don't understand why good shoe stores can't stock the wide widths for women and always try to sell you a man's shoe instead. If your company produces a quality shoe in different sizes and widths then the stores should carry your entire line and be familiar with them . I do find that many sales people try to promote/sell what they are presently wearing and not listening or trying to fit the customer. Over the years in keeping my plantar fasciitis at bay and needing stability my go to shoe has been Dansko for a dress and work shoe .

I have the 'black' Ariel 20 so I ordered the charcoal/green in same sizing and it came shorter. Disappointing as you cannot change sizing in footwear.

I'm let me start by saying these are very comfortable and my honking orthotics actually fit down in the heel on this shoe (which had been a challenge finding). However, the area under my ankle bone on the inner part of shoe started fraying within two weeks. I went to store where I bought them and they said they would order me a new pair. I got the new pair and already after one week I am starting to see signs of fraying. Not happy, as I absolutely love the fit and how comfortable these are for my (difficult). feet.

For me the toe area put pressure on my big toes. I have had glycerin and ghost and was fine with both of those. They are great shoes with lots of support.

This is a great shoe and has all the support my physical therapist and podiatrist recommend. However, after owning the shoe for about a month, the inner ankle had ripped at the top. My physical therapist showed that his Ariel?s are ripped in the same spot and he blamed it on his dog, but I don?t have a pet in my home. Other than that, A+++

I love most of your styles but this one has problems. The shoe is short, butting against the end of my toes and irritated them severely. The back of the shoe is mushy and does not easily slide onto the heel without folding in. I was disappointed and have buyers regret.

I am going to return them; the plastic around the sides of the toes was uncomfortable and did not give. I like Brooks brand, and I think I need to try on different styles. What do you suggest?

This is my 5th pair of Ariel 20. The footbed is great giving lots of support and cushion. I have only worn this new pair for a month. I am very disappointed that the upper cloth is already worn & torn at the ankle. Sadly I think I will have to find another manufacturer that has shoes that last longer than a month.

The shoes are comfortable and do support my feet okay. I am disappointed (greatly) that the right shoe has an annoying squeak squeak squeak. Any suggestions how to make that squeaking sound stop???? (Besides by not walking on it?) Thanks

I have worn Brook shoes for about 15 years. Two years ago I would have given them a 5. I believe the quality has gone down. The present shoes are noisy as I walk. The new pair, the insole look thick, are comfortable, but I am not sure they will last. I am currently rotating 4 pairs to give the shoes time for the soles and inserts to regenerate/expand back to normal per a chiropractor instructions. This helps some. I am only wearing the shoes one day out of four and they did not last 6 months. On a positive note the Brooks Ariel, Addiction, Addiction /Walker, and Adrenaline are great for overpronation. Brooks have held up, better than any other brand to severe overpronation. Hopefully Brooks gets back to the same quality. I would prefer to pay more and have the quality, then pay the old price and have squeaky shoes that don't last.

I've been wearing Ariels for about 10 years. They used to be my favorite shoe. My complaints now are: 1) the footbed support is excellent, but the padding around the heel felt like a squishy mess. The back of the shoe totally caves and bends as I put my foot in. I didn't used to need a shoehorn to hold the heel stable to get my foot in. 2) The colors since from Ariel 18 forward have been very disappointing. I used to love the color schemes on the Ariel. Over the past 3-4 years I've tolerated it. this year I didn't even think it was worth it to upgrade.

I really like Brooks over all, 8.5 wide in several styles has been a great fit. This time I got Ariels and the toe box seems smaller. My great toe and outside edge rub slightly

This is my second pair. My foot doctor ( I have had foot surgery) sent me to as isports shoe store he recommended these the first pair was amazing. So aftera year and a half it was time for a new pair. Ut these new ones don't have the supporting in the heal as the others. I love your shoes just need heal strength.
