Comfortable but runs small so have to return to get 1/2 size higher.

First, I am 47 and have the feet of someone who has had a hard life. Genetics gave me which fold inward and severe bunions. In most shoes I've ever purchased, I wear band-aids and a gel sleeve to avoid walking the skin, literally walking the skin off the ball or pad of my foot; however, with these shoes for the first time in my adult life, I can walk, run, hike for miles without issue. These shoes have taken me through the rain forest in Costa Rica to hiking the red rocks in Arizona. I'm a lifer!! Please never change the structure, but some cuter colors would be nice

My running days are far behind me but these shoes are the best I've found for someone with fallen arches. Post surgery I was looking for a shoe that would keep feet and knees in proper alignment and these Ariels are the excellent!

Love these sneakers. I have extremely wide feet. I wear a 9 extra wide. These are very comfortable and give me support for walking and daily use. However, I have bunions and find I need a half size bigger (9.5) even in the extra wide. This makes them a little sloppy on my foot but still incredibly comfortable. If you have healthy, wide feet you should order your correct size in wide or extra wide depending on your needs. These are the best shoes I have found to relieve my foot pain and back pain. Unfortunately, I will be returning these do my error in ordering the wrong size.

Great shoe! I have worn these for the last several years and they are the most comfortable walking shoes I have found.

This is my 2nd purchase of this style shoe. I am not a runner, just an older female with multiple foot issues. I have flat and very wide (bunions are only part of the reason for this) feet. These are very comfortable and give me great arch support. I am able to walk a mile or more without discomfort. I normally wear a 9, D in most other shoes, but in tennis shoes, and this brand in particular, I require a 10 1/2 D. I first ordered a 10, thinking my last pair, fitted by a specialty shoe store, was so much larger than I usually wear, only to have to exchange them for the 10 1/2. Zappos' customer service helped me over and above to do this without losing a promotion I had used. I just wish I could have gotten a different color this time, but the other choices didn't fit my style since I wear them with everything, not just to walk or workout.

The fit is good with a wide toe box and not that tapered in the forefoot. I like the black with a tiny bit of turqoise. Keep making black ones so they can go with anything we wear. He support and cushioning is good but so expensive!

My foot is narrow and the regular width was perfect. No slipping on the heel and large enough toe box to accommodate a bunion.

The shoes were great and felt good when I first put them on but the arch support was a little too high. I bought these and a pair of New Balance 1540, both recommended by a podiatrist, to compare and the NB edged the Brooks out. Overall I think it's just personal preference.

I’ve been wearing this shoe for over a decade. I have hard to fit flat feet and bad knees. This shoe is excellent for me, an over-pronator. Five stars all day long!!!

I had been wearing Brooks Ariel 14 in a 9 1/2 wide but my toe was rubbing the end of the left shoe. I ordered a 10 wide in the Ariel 20 and they feel so much better on my feet. The toe box is wide enough my toes don’t feel scrunched in. The heel fits as well. My feet have very little arch and these shoes support my arches very well. They are very comfortable and are very nice looking shoes that don’t look big on my feet. I plan to buy another pair for walking my fur babies. I am very pleased with the style and the size.

I have many foot issues-torn ligament fallen arches and flat feet & extreme pronation. The minute I put these shoes on you could visibly see a difference in my foot positioning and the shoe felt extremely comfortable. I’ve worn them everyday since I bought them and this is the best my feet have felt in over a year and a half. I did order a size larger than I normally do but was told that’s fairly common with Brooks. I wish there were more fashionable color choices-I personally hate black tennis shoes, but I’ll overlook that for the sake of comfort-I immediately ordered them in the second color available & just waiting for them to arrive!

I purchased one pair and then ordered these a month later. It would be great to have other colors but that’s not as important as comfort for me. These are the best version of Ariel I’ve worn to date and I’ve been wearing them since the 2014 model...and every one since. Very roomy toe box and wonderful cushioning, even using my very rigid orthotics. I have arthritic, flat feet with bad pronation. This shoe is the most comfortable I’ve had in many years.

This is my third pair of Ariels. I discovered them after two foot surgeries, I wear them with orthotics. I can count on them to be comfy straight out of the box. But I miss what I call the “toe bumper” from previous versions. That bumper protected my post surgery foot and made me feel invincible. The “bumper” is actually still there somewhat but it is inside the shoe under the fabric layer. The shoe looks more generic now. The outside appears less engineered. I miss that. Still, I remain loyal because they have no break in period and a roomy toe box. Put them on and wear them all day on the first day with pain.

The fit and size was perfect. I have been wearing Brooks Ariels, addiction and adrenaline for over 12 years. The support is the best. They are my everyday shoe. More color options in wide widths would be appreciated.

So far, so good. Generally comfortable, gives enough foot and ankle stability to reduce bone pain.

Ariel shoes are the ONLY shoe I can and do wear. My foot surgeon wants me to wear these as they provide the best support and do not allow my foot to roll or twist. I have severe arthritis in my feet and throughout my body. These shoes allow me to be up on my feet to do chores, shopping, or other activities.
