I am too old to run anymore but I have super high arches and am trying to walk a lot. I have the Beast 18 and wanted another pair of shoes so I can alternate. I use ortho inserts with both shoes. I like the Beast 20 just fine and feel the bounce as I walk. Finding size 15 shoes has always been a problem for me but the Beast fits well including my orthodics.

Not liking the new trend in Brooks where the shoes are being Made of mostly seamless fabric. There is increasingly less forefoot stability. The new Beast 20 is much lighter and almost feels cheap. I have several pair of Beast models and the latest definitely offers less support. I have had mine for 3 weeks and I am contemplating putting my custom orthotics in to give more stability. As a physical therapist I frequently change my patients' shoes for many different ailments. For motion control shoes the Beast has always been my first choice personally and for my patients. With this new version I believe they have fallen back to the pack.

Second Pair. Comfortable and supportive even with my orthodox. Good walking shoe around town, up hills, steps and more, too.

Not impressed by the support these shoes provide. I bought the 4E and am disappointed with the fit and how flimsy they feel. Should have stuck with the GTS 20, far more support and don't feel as cheap

I ordered this shoe after my wife raved about it's companion shoe for women. . . Ariel 20. I normally wear a 11.5/12.00 EE street shoe, but needed a 13EE shoe for the best fit in this shoe. Zappos generous order and return philosophy allowed me to order two sizes and return the one that wasn't a perfect fit. This shoe has excellent arch support, breathability, and comfort.

The change from '18 to the '20 was hugely disappointing. The rigid stability of the Beast no longer holds up try to find the 18s online and buy those. It used to be worth the price but not anymore- feels cheaper and cheaper with each purchase.

First time Beast 20 owner here. I have flat feet and at 33 have never found a shoe that I felt fit right. I enjoyed running but would roll ankles, suffer shin splints, and develop a runner's knee. Even with orthotics nothing seemed to help. I recently decided to get back into running 5 days a week and bought the beast on a last ditch effort to avoid the pain I knew would accompany the full running schedule I wanted to keep. After the first few 4 milers, I am more than pleased. These are the best running shoes I have purchased. I can't comment on the change in design but I feel the price tag was ultimately worth it for me. I purchased the wide version because my toes would often feel cramped in other shoes. After little running my toes would burst the sides of the shoes. I don't think this is going to be a problem with the Beast 20s however. My foot strikes feel far more secure with these shoes and I can feel my stride smoothing out. Best part, no pain. Overall best running shoes I've ever purchased. Happy running.

Like the fit and updated look. It's the Beast but does not half to look like it. Very comfortable. Don't know durability because I have not had it long enough. Reason rated 4 instead of 5. Little concerned about mesh toe that was not reinforced. Time will tell.

I would like to see Brooks keep the 18 and still have the 20 or discontinue the Addition 14, and replace it with the Beast 18. As a 60 plus years old short stocky male the Beast 18 just feels more sturdy overall. I have been using the Beast for running, weightlifting and walking for the last 15 years. Approximately 7-10 years ago Brooks switched to a less sturdy shoe for about a year or two and then returned to the more sturdy version.

I've had Brooks Beast shoes for 17 years now. They are the only shoe I've found that my entire body is completely happy with. I'm a walker and not even a runner. I wear these all day every day. Even when I put a new pair on for the first time there is no "breaking-in-blues" that my body feels. I'm very grateful for this shoe. : )
