Brooks should have left the Glycerin 17 alone. I had to order the wide in the 18 because the 18 runs too narrow and the medium irritated my neuroma. Order a wide if your feet are average width. If u have wide feet...forget about it. Also, the 18 is stiffer. I will keep these but may consider another brand next time. Also had to order white because that was the only color available in the wide. Would have preferred another color. Brooks should also consider grey shoelaces for the white sneakers.

The ASIC shoe I used to wear no longer comes in a narrow with. Thought I’d try this. If you have narrow feet this is not the shoe for you. The narrow width isn’t narrow. Returning tomorrow.

I’ve been a die hard Glycerin fan since the 11s, and I’ve bought every style since. I feel like it’s either great or a miss, and the 18s feel like a miss. They aren’t as cushiony as the 17s, and after a few hours my feet started to feel tired which is unusual. The laces are better than the 17s which felt like thin paper. The look is almost the same and I like the black and rose gold. I give them a solid B rating. I’ve gone up a half size since the 15s. They just don’t feel like the clouds I’m used to. I really wish it was easier to get previous styles.

Loved them, but by the end of my first day, I felt my toes hurting. Returned them and waiting for the delivery of a half size larger.

I love Brooks! I walk 4 to 5 miles a day and have feet discomfort. I was very hopeful about these shoes from other reviews. But felt more foot pain and leg discomfort. Really disappointed. Slightly small fitting. But a very comfortable shoe if all I was using them for was errands. Love the color!!

A bit disappointed! My Glycerin 17's were awesome - comfortable and lasted me at least 3 months running about 25/30 miles per week. I have run a couple of times in the 18's and after only 5 miles I get that blunt pounding sensation in the ball of my foot - the one you get usually around mile 12-15. It feels like I've been standing on my feet too long, or like I've been running on pavement with really old shoes. So strange! I have been, and will continue to be loyal to Brooks running shoes, just thought I'd share my observations.

Very different fit/feel compared to previous glycerin models. Much less cushion and also feels narrower near the heel almost as if there is a post close to that area (built up)

I found the material was light and breathable. I had a problem with my ankles not feeling secure even with the laces looped on the top hole. Also

Brooks has been cutting costs and just moving features around. I have been a regular Ghost user for years. I used to by Glycerin years ago but when they jacked up the price to $150, I started with Ghost. The latest Ghost does not have great arch support and they changed the heel fabric so it's stiff. Not comfortable at all. I hacked up the money for Glycerin and guess what? The same heel cushion they removed from Ghost, 2 versions back. This is a great shoe but not for the money. Thinking my next cushioned shoe will not be made by Brooks.

the shoe definitely was comfortable and cushioned, but it was so big and wide. I was disappointed that I had to return.

I bought these about a month ago after running in Ghosts for the past couple years. I've run about 80-100 miles in them. They felt good on my feet initially; haven't rubbed or slipped at all, but there is something off in the way they support my foot when I run. I've been having ankle pain, mild knee pain, and medial calf pain that I've never had before, and I'm running pretty much the same routes and mileage as usual. I'm disappointed because I really wanted to like them, and they are pretty comfortable just standing around.

I found these shoes to be really stiff and not enough cushion. I loved the 16's but these are not as comfortable. My ankles are screaming. I will look into returning them.

Unfortunately I have had to change to the Ghost due to the narrowed toe box of the new Glycerins. Glycerine was my go to shoe, but why they narrowed the toe box is beyond me. I am happy with the Ghost, but feel I had more arch support in the Glycerin. I ordered the 8.5 Wide.

Not as comfortable and soft as the glycerin 17. I haven't had trouble with plantar fasciitis in years a couple weeks of switching from the glycerin 17 to the 18's MY FEET ARE KILLING ME! Will not buy glycerin 18's again.

I'm not sure what is happening with both Brooks and NB. These yearly updates stink - and they usually make the shoe worse. The 16's were great..why not offer the older versions as well as the newer? The newer don't have the same support along the sides of the shoe. They aren't as comfortable either.

They were cut to low for me and I didn’t feel like there would be enough support for my ankles. Sadly returning them.

I agree with the comments about the 18 being much less cushy. I have worn brooks for years and recently purchased the 18 and had foot problems every since. Very hard on the ball of my foot and not at all the comfort of the prior versions. Now not sure what shoe to try.

I have been buying Glycerins for several years and have loved the cushioning they provide. The Glycerin 18, however, does not provide nearly the amount of cushion, so I bought another searched for a pair of Glycerin 17's and got what I was looking for. I hope next year's model will go back to having lots of shock absorbent cushion.

I don’t know what Brooks did to the 18’s but they sure ruined them. The 17’s were so comfortable. The toe box is small and uncomfortable. I’ve worn glycerin since the 6’s and these are the worst
