I have been wearing Brooks probably close to 15 yrs. they finally got the toe box right with this one but is stiff and has zero arch support. What happened?! I bought new Ghosts that are the same. After a few hours my feet were killing me. Something has changed with this brand.

Just yuck! Why Brooks? Bad color choices for starters then the wide offering is no where near a true wide. I used to be able to wear a regular width in the Glycerin 15. That is my favorite Brooks. Please go back to the wider toe box and do away with the nasty colors. Will have to look for some more 15's on Ebay or another brand with a wider toe box. Very disappointed: I have had Brooks since the Glycerin 8.

Once again Brooks narrows the toe box! I have switched to a wide shoe recently to accommodate baby toe bone spurs (from too narrow tennies!) Have been wearing the 16s and 17s with the toe box narrowing with each version. The 18s are narrow as well. I have found the Brooks Ariel to be a good alternative -- a completely different feel, but it has support, a wide toe box and very good arch support.

A bit different from my Glycerin 17's. The arch support was not as good, and they also ran a half size longer. They are cushioned but not quite as much my 17's. Still feels like a solid shoe, but not as fantastic as my Glycerin 17's. Disappointing.

I ordered these shoes to get back into jogging after a decade of not. I used to wear Asics but was looking for shoes with max cushioning, and these were the shoes that came up on Zappos with highest cushioning as a filter. They are very comfortable, and between following a gradual start interval program and these shoes, my knees and ankles are happy so far. I usually wear an 8 in athletic shoes, and chose an 8 wide to accommodate my duck feet: wide through the ball and toes. They fit great. No sore toenails, no hot spots. Giant padding on the rear for the heel strike, good for a slow jogger. For casual wear I prefer a minimalist shoe. My stride is neutral and rarely seek out arch support. For impact, I just wanted lots of padding and enough room in the toe box, and after two weeks of wear I'm very happy with these.
I'd also recommend:

I bought Brook's Glycerin 18 because they appeared on lists of running shoes recommended for people with high arches and pain in ball of foot (maybe metatarsalgia). I wear a size 9 (EU 40) in Naot's and running shoes like New Balance. I used the size calculator at two different websites as I read that you should buy a half size larger in a Brooks shoe. Using New Balance size 9 as the comparison, the calculator at Amazon stated 9; whereas, the one at Zappos said 9.5. Since I was ordering from Zappos, I chose 9.5. The shoe looks a bit longer than my other shoes; however, when I stand I have about a thumbnail length between my big toe and the end of the shoe. (See image on left). When I sit, I have about a thumb width (not thumbnail) length left. (See image on right.) The shoe is very cushioned and springy. The arch is moderate and could use a bit more support, so I added an over the counter "sponge" shoe insert. Everything is great now. Although the shoe looks a little longer than my others, I do think the 9.5 size was a good choice for me. I am not a runner, rather I walk in our neighborhood so the surface I am on is uneven street. I do not feel the rocks and the pain in the ball of my foot is unnoticeable. The air holes in the shoe's material is cooler than the Asics running shoes I am replacing, which is great for summer in Texas. (Post note: I measured the right shoe of both my Asics and Brooks shoes. They are about the same length - calculator was correct!)

Great comfort and support!!! I have been running on Hoka's for a while because I value the intense cushioning. Too much time on a shoe with a zero drop sometimes starts to aggravate my Achilles, so I knew it was time to switch them out. I decided to try these Brooks Glycerin 18. The cushion and support is very remarkable given they don't have the huge soles you see on the Hoka's. They also have a nice fit that really hugs your foot, and feels very light. These shoes felt fantastic right out of the box. If you wear super thick socks (say, like thorlos) you may feel a bit snug-- just a heads up. I got the black/ebony/cornflower and it looks nice and somehow makes my size 8.5 foot look smaller : )

I chose these because I have plantar fasciitis and needed a shoe that would help me to continue with a little running regimen that I am following. The great thing is that these are so comfortable that I could sleep in them. I was fitted for my first Brooks a couple of years ago, so I knew I needed the wide shoe. Thankfully Zappos had them. They’re not so easy to find to buy of the shelf. I highly recommend. I am an overweight over 50 year old. I use these for running, but they look so nice I can wear them with some capris and can go shopping in style and comfort.

I have worn the Brooks Glycerin for years. However, the Glycerin 18 is more narrow than the previous version. My feet are burning after a run, and tingling from falling asleep. I buy the Glycerin for the cushion and fit, but sadly these have changed and my Glycerine days appear to be over. Can’t return as I wore them a bunch of times thinking I needed to break them in. Now will go back to the Ghosts hoping they have not changed as well (in the meantime these shoes will be fine for walking).

Where did the arch support go? I've been buying Brooks Glycerins for years because they always had fabulous arch support for my very, very high arches. These are a total redesign from previous versions and feel like they have zero arch support. This will be my last pair of Glycerins.

Purchased because my Glycerin 16s have worn out. This shoe fits nothing like the 16. The toe box on this shoe is much smaller. I felt minimal arch support. I never noticed how much I needed it until a mile in these. They are very attractive and the material is smooth.

I have worn and loved the fit of Glycerins for years. The Glycerin 18 does not feel at all like its predecessors with a flatter footbed, little arch support and no bounce in the sole material. Previous models were much better made. High price tag for such an unworthy product.

Disappointed in the Glycerin cushioning. This model is worse than the last 2 versions. Glycerin was always my favorite for the cushioning and support, not anymore. Sadly I will be returning these. Come on Brooks you can do better.

Love these shoes! Very cushy and comfy. I wear a 38 in Birkenstock’s and got a size 9 in these because my foot flex’s quite a bit. I would say true to size or half size up on these. I have a slightly wide foot but the standard width seems to fit fine. Love the look and everything about these!

The glycerin 18s feel just like the glycerin 15s: Flexible in the toe box, cushioning. I love these running shoes.

Fit and size were as expected - good. However, I am very disappointed in the cushioning. They aren't nearly as cushy as previous versions. They have more of a firm feel to the bottom of the foot, and it's not good.

Reviewed at Brooks Running
I have run in Glycerins since the 14s and have purchased multiple models each year, never having had to break them in. They are my go to shoe for 5 marathons and mileage in between. I have enjoyed the support, cushioning and response features in Glycerins. I have medium width feet, no prior issues with arches or foot pain until this 18 model. I purchased them back in May 2020 they probably have 320 miles on them by now. They deliver on cushioning and response. However, the support is not as sturdy as prior models. The lacing structure is a little different and I think the lighter material is weaker, less supportive and stretches out so support suffers. I am sliding around a little in the shoe and thus, experiencing foot pain, knee pain never felt while running before in these shoes. I'm accustomed to long runs for marathon training but I feel like these are not as supportive as prior models and I'd be a mess after really long runs. I think I will be going back to the sturdier 17s until I can't get them any longer.

I’ve been wearing Brooks for 10 years, but this Glycerin 18 hurt my feet so badly, I could only wear them less than 2 hours. There is no arch support or cushion, which is so unlike my pair of Glycerin 16s. I was so disappointed. I looked forward to a birthday treat of new running shoes. Loved the look & color of black & rose gold, but the support & comfort were not there. May have to switch brands.

The shoes fit great, both size and with. They are extremely comfy. No need for a break in period as they are comfortable from day one. I recommend these shoes to everyone! I run well over 100 miles per month and they hold up decent but recommend replacing them around 500 miles.

I was fitted for the Brooks Glycerin 18 using foot scanning technology at a running store. Turns out I've been wearing the wrong size and style of shoe for-ev-er! For anyone reading reviews about poor fit and poor arch support may want to try a new shoe fitting before ordering online, and ask for recommendations for what is best for their feet. Only one color available at the store - I'm here for my second pair in a different color.

These sneakers are so comfortable. They have a lot of cushion and don’t require any break in period. I had a pair of ghost 12’s and these are even more comfortable than those. Love them and the pink color is pretty.
