I used to be a fan of the Glycerin shoes. They were comfortable with great support. Probably the best running shoe I've ever used. Then things went wrong. Somehow, they hired a terrible shoe designer after the Glycerin 15. Because whoever is designing the look of the shoes now is just awful. First, white soles don't stay very long. Try using a color that isn't white in the sole. Secondly, please pick a design in the mens shoes that aren't so feminine. Thanks. Just one runners opinion.

I wear a 13 wide and this fits perfectly. They breath well, they look cool and the cushioning is what I was looking for. I have meniscus issues in both knees and it helps with that noticeably over their replacement.

Husband loves them so far. He doesn't run anymore, but he does walk hundreds of miles a week (average) in his job at a science museum, so he needed excellent support and cushion that would last. His brand of choice was Under Armour, but they couldn't hold up to all that mileage and would wear out quickly. He ran cross country/track in asics shoes in school, but he *really* likes these shoes!!! There is sooooo much support and cushion in them, we're hopeful they will last through the miles longer than maybe a month like the other shoes he's worn! He also needed all black for work, so thankfully that was available. Chose the Glycerin over the Ghost after some reviews on youtube talked about the immediate vs longer lasting ability of the support and cushion (glycerin being more long lasting than immediate). So far so good! NOTE: If you wear UA or Nike shoes in a size 10, the reviews that say the Brooks shoes run a bit small are probably accurate. My husband needed a 10.5 not a 10 in these shoes to feel comfortable in them.

Fit perfect. Definite upgrade over the Glycerin 17. I wore both shoes brand new side by side and you can tell the 18 has a bit more cushioning. Highly recommended!

I felt the fit is good, the arch felt slightly weak and provided insoles were mostly cardboard type so you can see these have Dr. Scholl’s standard insoles for comfort cut from std insoles sold on Amazon other sites. Liked very much prior to insoles but with insoles I feel these may be my first keepers in a year or two of hunting for enough padding from Brooks (last year Glycerine’s I kept but were not as plush as these). Brooks seems to finally have grasped that level 3 padding means enough that my 238 lb frame is okay with these for 3-5 miles and they handle well at grip, strike at mid foot with occasional heel but generally trained myself to be neutral prone so let’s me use Brooks, Adidas, and some Nike and NB runners but Beast gave up on as it’s trying to accommodate “beasts” which means less refined more control and constraint on gait and ankles which I feel makes wearing them more tiring than relative freedom of these plus the extra padding finally yields a shoe I can count on from Brooks without needing to resort to “fat guy” runners! Imho, Brooks and Mizuno are the most reliable for quality control , while NB has most wide choices consistency of models is confusing. The Brooks Glycerine’s in 12 EE have comfort, seem like a strong fabric though it’s not water proof, on uppers, so now become my fave runner for 2020. I still love Nike Airmax 201x but they have given me a “ flat tire” every year plus no widths so wears thin pun intended as don’t care about heavier runners imho. It is tiresome to lose $199 on a Nike running shoe or even to have a $150 Hoka One One wear out (or lose its “bounce”). I am done with “Nike Air” soles while I’m open to NB foams, but durability and quality remains equal in importance to cushioning bigger runners who want to keep our bones from repetitive impact that becomes arthritis when gear is unable to buffer impact, each year it matters even more! My running outside over using indoor treadmill has gotten costly so $150 is about the max price one should pay to remain able to enjoy the outdoors pain free! Imho - the “Clydesdale” are not a small niche - and so it’s good to _finally_ see aging Boomers drawing proper attention, sparing us geezers injuries! I think Hoka One deserves credit for raising the bar on comfort- but it needs to up it’s game to remain competitive and be taken as seriously as the long respected Brooks lineup (not a brand Groupie but happy w this year’s upgraded shoe! Thx Brooks!

Perfection. I switched from Ghost a couple years ago and have not looked back. Very happy with Glycerin. 18 is the best Glycerin version yet.

Really good shoe. Has held off my tendency for Plantar Faciatis and Tendon inflammation. Need a good waterproof shoe for the winter that works as well or better than the Glycerin. Currently using an orthotic that gives me more cushion for my heals. However that addition makes the shoe a little unstable.

So far I've only put maybe 5 runs of 3-miles/each on these. They remind me a lot of the feel of a pair of UltraBoosts, but with a better shape in the footbed. GOOD: These shoes are comfortable as heck. I mean, right out of the box, BAM your feet are in love. No break-in period. They have a good, smooth roll on the ground with each foot strike. And if you're walking/running anywhere that has a hot climate, these shoes breathe reeeeally well. You won't want to take them off. But maybe you should, especially before you try putting on skinny jeans or a wetsuit. BAD: Some of the super-comfy white cushioning is totally exposed on the bottom to the road, so I'm not sure how long that will last. My mom got remarried to a guy who has zero common interests with her, and they get all their "news" from social media, so I'm not sure how long that will last.

I ordered this pair and a pair of Ghost 12. Because I didn't know which pair I would keep. I wanted to try both. It took 2 weeks because of Covid-19. When I could finally slip my feet in... oh my god.. the feeling was so amazing. They fit my feet perfectly. They are super comfy compared to my old Adidas Ultra Boost shoes. So... goodbye Adidas! (I still keep them for casual occasions though because of their look :D) I wish I could have known about Brooks sooner. So in the end, I decided to keep both: the Ghost 12, and the Glycerin. I can't tell the difference between the 2 yet, I will have to run more and see, but I prefer the Glycerin's look. I picked the blue color for my Glycerin and the red color for my Ghost 12 by the way. I'm so happy.

Finally Brooks Glycerin made a shoe that's not ugly as sin, BLACK. I love Brooks Glycerin so much but they used to be so UGLY until now that they have this black shoe. I bought two black Glycerin 18 shoes just in case they never make solid black again. THANKS BROOKS! QUIT MAKING THE BEST BUT UGLIEST SHOES!
I'd also recommend:
just Brooks.

I’ve converted to the higher level of cushioning shoes for training, and this is my 2nd pair of Glycerins. It’s a really good shoe for logging high mileage and reducing fatigue/injury. I’ve never needed a break in period for them, but I always buy fitted inserts to improve arch support. The factory inserts are nearly useless, but that goes for every running shoe.

I was looking for a shoe to protect my knee and these are the best I came up with, considering the fact that I have a neutral gait and do not need stabilized shoes. Firm but nicely cushioned. Especially good on pavement and unyielding surfaces.
I'd also recommend:

I like the combination of cushioning and firmness. They have great stability. I enjoy using them for runs and long power walks. When I purchased them, I was looking for shoes that could serve both purposes. I had the Glycerin 17's. I like the 18's better. The 17's were overly cushiony. The 18's have good cushion but seem to be a little firmer and have better stability. I am no longer a serious runner. My hip and knees don't allow it. But these shoes allow me to continue doing light running and power walking without significant disconfort.

Best version of Brooks yet. My previous pair lasted a solid 250 miles of walking on pavement six to eight miles at a go. Excellent comfort and cushioning without being mushy. Note: I find them about half a size smaller than the number, making the size 10 just right for my 9½ feet.

A spring in my step again! Could not be happier with cushioning, (more comfortable and responsive than Hoka), laces staying tight, overall look. I should buy more right now right now before they evolve again!

Really comfortable shoe, best fit I have found for my feet. They seem to have an extra bit of width which takes the pressure of my little toes. The only shoe I could find to replace the Glycerin 16's I had been using. 2 other brands were just not up to the job.
