I'm heartbroken. My Uncle Ron passed away and my Aunt gave me a few of his things. These exact boots looked and felt brand new. Few years old at best. Wore them once this weekend to the Patriots 30 degree game. Got home and realized the rubber cracked in 2 places and the upper leather had torn away from the rubber 3/4 of the leather tore away. Beautiful boot, sentimental for me as they were worn by a great man. Too bad this defect has not been addressed by Sorel. Hate to throw them away but no way to repair.

I initially loved these boots. For the past couple years they got light duty until the leather separated from the rubber. I was surprised that this intersection didn't have a full leather overlap or at least a larger overlap. There was no way to repair them with SHOE GOO. A bad design for sure. If Sorel ever fixes this problem and advertises that it has been redesigned, I might even buy another pair. However, I feel that they owe me at this point.

Like the other 100% factual one-star reviews, the rubber separated from the "full-grain leather synthetic textile upper." I've worn them less than a dozen times. The most irritating thing is not the description of "rugged and durable," which is completely false, or that Sorel continues to sell the boot despite knowing it is trash. The most irritating thing is the "customers" who blatantly lie and give the boot a five-star rating as a "Sweepstakes Entry." Someone actually wrote a review claiming that the boot has a "five-year warranty"

I've been a dedicated sorel wearer for many many years. This boot and the customer service I've been dealing with has me searching for another brand. Never had a boot self destruct like the conquest. Looks like I'll go back to the bean boot, Less traction, But holds up to walking up alpine ski trails. ALSO, Full replacement if damaged while using. UNLIKE sorel-

I have a pair of these which are about a year old and the rubber toe separated from the boot and cracked. They are now destroyed due to normal usage. The boots are warm, comfortable, and a great design but from what I have experienced and read they are not reliable. The only way I would buy them again is if they guaranteed them for at least 5 years.

Believe the 1 star reviews!!! Everyone that has these boots are having the exact same issues and it's not a joke. My boots are doing the same thing, at the seam where the rubber meets the leather, my boots have split open.

I wore out a great pair of Sorels and thought I would upgrade them with one of their best models. Like so many reviews mention, the rubber became hard and cracked rendering these boots useless. Very disappointing as I didn't wear these often. The rubber isn't formulated properly. Maybe they have addressed the issue but I'm not about to spend $150 to find out.

I bought these boots to wear when we get snow here in Seattle Wa. So I got them maybe 5 years ago wearing maybe 10 times at the most. This last snow I put them on to shovel snow and walked out side and I noticed my boots had literally separated the sole from the top!! The rubber they use is very low grade and especially for the cost of these. Do not buy these boots!!

I came to the website to see about getting an end-of-season deal because my Sorels had completely split at the seams and I thought I just had a lemon. After checking the site, I see that my experience is not unlike many others! I live in Vermont and only wear these when shoveling. I figure I have worn them less than 30 times for no more than an hour each time and both boots have fallen apart. These were my first Sorel boots and I bought them thinking they were good quality. I guess it is time to try a different brand. Do not waste your money on these boots!

I purchased these boots a few years ago and was happy with the performance and quality at first. They kept my feet warm with only a light merino wool sock. These were not worn all winter, only in snowy conditions. Probably worn on average 3-4 times a season and stored in a dry spot away from direct heat or sun. This winter, 2019, during the first snow I pulled the boots on and the upper completely separated from the lower. The rubber material had deteriorated on both boots. Of course they are out of warranty now. Maybe Sorel has solved the issue since. If they have, I would buy them again because they are not bulky, I can drive my truck and operate skid steer controls without issue. Do not buy unless the issues have been ccorrected.

These are beautiful boots with attractive features. I purchased them before moving to a region with extreme climate and used them periodically for recreation and light utility work under occasional heavy snow conditions. They held up fine through about 5 years of infrequent use and then the seams began to split. Both boots fell apart after their most recent use, the uppers splitting entirely from the rubber bottoms and the rubber disintegrating into bits that were left in my tracks. The useless 1-year limited warranty belies the investment that this price point represents and I take it to be an admission of inferior quality on the part of Sorel. I thought perhaps I had an inferior pair and am shocked to see among these reviews just how common this problem is. Buyer beware.

In under 1.5 years, these boots came apart like a cheap suit. That's 1 season. Apparently, Sorel thinks that amount of time is beyond the lifetime for these boots, as the are already out of warranty. $150 down the drain. I will stress this to every backpacker, outdoorsman, and Ice fisherman I meet, along with every Boy Scout in my troop: The Sorel I knew as a kid is gone. It has been replaced with a fashion company that traded quality for mass production, and could cost you your toes if you take them somewhere where you need to rely on your gear.

I purchased a pair of Sorel Conquest winter boots in December 2012. Despite applying the proper footwear care, the rubber outsole has cracked on both sides of one boot and the rubber-to-leather stitching has failed on both boots. I realize these boots are six years old but they probably have less than 120 hours of wear. I live in a temperate climate so they only get used a few times a year. When the Sorels weren't in use they were wiped clean, treated and stored indoors. I took the boots to a knowledgeable shoe repair place. It was the owner's opinion that it is a defect in the rubber quality and stitching workmanship given that the boots were cared for and had little sign of wear.

Like many others, cracked and failed after 2 years of intermittent use. I don't live in the snow and only used them 10-12 times. My question is, does Sorel care?

The rubber completely fell apart. Do not buy. I've hardly ever worn them. They need to go back to their materials purchasing department and yell at the person that bought this rubber.

These boots had all of 4 trips outside over two years (See like new tread on sole) Like many of the negative reviewers here, the rubber casing came completely apart. So much so that the heel detached from one of the boots. For the money paid these boots should have lasted a lifetime. Avoid these boots!

What a shoddy product. I've worn these boots less than 10 times total, and haven't subjected them to any rough treatment at all. I wore them to the mountain 3 days ago when I took my daughter sledding, and when I came back home, I noticed that both shoes had large cracks on top of the toes, where the bottom had completely split form the top part (under the stitches). The shoes look nice, keep the feet warm, and are comfortable to wear.... but what good is all that if they are going to be torn apart from a few days of gentle use? See pictures for how bad the damage is, and I included a pic of the sole, so that you can see how unused the boots are.

I am a Ski Patroller and have sworn by Sorels in the past. I got the conquest model when I needed a new pair this season. They separated between the rubber and leather on both boots within wearing about 5 times. I had not even thought about reading reviews on these boots since all my Sorels over the past 30years had been great quality. I read reviews after I had issues with this model and saw all the poor reviews noting the same issue. This model is poor design, workmanship and quality that Sorel should really stand behind irrespective of the one year warranty. Not sure what has happened to such a good company, but this will likely start impacting their bottom line if they do not address as past loyal customers will leave and the internet will deter future customers. I am really disappointed in Sorel.
