I originally bought these in a size 8 which is what I always wear in born, as well as other brands. They were big on me so I returned for a 7 1/2 and they fit perfectly. This is a beautiful boot and very comfortable. I got the brown and am considering the black as well....maybe later!

I love these boots so much I just bought a second identical pair, only a month after buying the first, because they are uniquely stylish, comfortable, and amenable to my short, muscular calves. The estimate on the 14" calf circumference seems to be accurate, and the leather has a little stretch too. I wore these for 5 days straight on a vacation where I averaged 7+ mi of walking a day and never had a sore spot or blister, even with a moderate bunion on one foot. My favorite feature, tho, is that they have a very smart zipper system which seems specifically designed to accommodate neat jean-tucking. They are moto-chic without having a hard heel, which is exactly the look and comfort level I was going for. If I ever wore brown boots I'd buy them in brown, too, seriously.

Didn’t even get to try on because the boots I was sent were used, returned in generic packaging and shipped out to me with water stains, a black stain on the lower front, stitching starting to come undone, heels scuffed- overall just crap.

The heel height on these is 1 1/2", not 1 1/4" as listed. For me, that is a deal-killer. Otherwise, they are a beautiful shoe and would have been great in the slightly lower heel-height for me.

The boots are absolutely beautiful! The leather is so nice and they are VERY comfortable. Love them :)

I have narrow feet and these boots fit well with socks. I like the lower heel and the leather is extremely soft. Also , an added bonus , the boots are waterproof! Definitely recommend them.

I’m loving these boots! Super comfortable, soft leather. A bit hard to pull off and my feet seem to sweat some inside, but the comfort and style outweigh these issues. I’d definitely recommend these.

These felt comfortable right away. Born usually fit me perfectly. I am a size nine, medium width. These boots were exactly what I wanted. I was looking for a mid-calf height and a slight heel. I absolutely love these!

I wanted a winter boot that was somewhat dressy (not a hiking boot) yet had a non slip sole. We live in the Blue Ridge Mountains and have a steep, paved driveway. This boot is perfect. The toe is gently tapered so it has a dressier look than a full rounded toe. The upper boot shank is a true mid calf, not ankle and not up to the knee. The leather in the upper boot is very soft and the boot has enough room to fit over a narrow leg jean or pant. The leather on the toe area is a finished polished leather. The fit is true to size. I'm between a 7 and a 7 1/2 and will buy the larger size if I can't freely wiggle my toes. In this boot, I have that wiggle room in the size 7 and the right amount of length overall. Now the only downside of this boot is that I have a high instep. Putting them on is easy but one foot was harder to take off. I think that will improve with wear. In the meantime I simply use a pot holder that has a rubberized back and grab the heal. The rubberized potholder has enough friction to pull the boot off.

This boot is super cute and comfy. I ordered my normal size and the fit was perfect ! The toe box accommodates my bunion so I would highly recommend this boot !

I love these boots but can't wear them. They seem too long for a 6.5 and they're too narrow for my poor feet. My toes were squished into the narrowness. The leather is very soft and the foot bed seems somewhat comfortable. I'm sad I have to return them.

I love these boots! My foot is wide and these are just so comfortable and cute (with dresses, skirts or jeans). Like with all cowboy boots, the type/thickness of sock worn with them will determine if the heel slips or not, which seemed to be some reviewer's complaints. I personally haven't used the side zipper to put on or pull off. Putting them on is like with cowboy boots, put your index finger into the loop on top of the boot. Taking them off is easiest with a boot jack. If you don't have one, get one where cowboy boots are sold, you'll love how easy it is to take your boots off. Born boots hold up well for me and having style with comfort is what makes me buy them over and over again.

I normally wear a size 8 in Born and the 8 fits just right, with even a little room for thick socks. My concern when I ordered these was the calf width - I have pretty thick calves and for tall boots I need to get a wide calf size. But these work with my calves and I wanted the mid calf height for a fun look. I haven’t worn them out yet but I’m looking forward to it!

Love these boots! But not sure why they have the inside zipper? The style would be better with no zipper and just pull on.

I absolutely love these Born boots. Very comfortable and they look great with jeans or a skirt. I especially like that they have a roomy feel - not too narrow in the toe box.

These are very comfortable boots. I wore them for the first time and did a lot of walking, I put them to the test and they were very comfortable the whole day. Easy to put on with the zipper. Stylish enough to wear with a skirt or dress as well as jeans or pants. I am very happy with this purchase.

These are EXACTLY what i was looking for! I have a very painful moderate bunion on one foot that normally requires me to get wide shoes. However, I then have to add pads, etc., to make the normal foot fit. But that doesn't work with boots, because if you order a wide for the foot you also get a wide calf; and my calves are very slender and they are huge on me. These are perfection in my 8 Medium, and extremely comfortable! My husband loves them, and Iadore them!

These boots were super comfortable right out of the box. The leather is soft and pliable, no need for a "break in" period. My usual size for boots is a 9, which is what I ordered, and they fit perfectly. They are also waterproof, which is a nice bonus for Cleveland winters! Very happy with my purchase.

These boots are comfortable out of the box and are waterproof according to the Born label on them. They do have a western styling to them with a dip in the profile in the front. One person complained about the heel being higher then they could tolerate, but they seem exactly the same as other Born boots I have with the same specified heel height. I also do not like to wear shoes or boots with heels, but these don’t feel to me as if they have ‘heels’ and I easily took a 4 mile walk with them right after purchase. The leather is also very supple and smooth.
