These are honestly some of the most uncomfortable boots I have ever tried on. They are nothing like Merrell sneakers or slip-ons. I have worn Merrell flats for years with no issue whatsoever, so I was surprised by the way these boots fit. I probably could have tolerated them by inserting an extra arch support, but I did not like the way these fit on their own, so I had to return them. The right-foot boot also had a scuff mark on it, which made me wonder if someone else tried them and returned them due to their uncomfortable fit.

Merrell is a great line and loved the look. HOWEVER, I had to "force" on the right boot and then could not get my left foot through the heel area of the left boot. Don't know what is going on in manufacturing; this is the 2nd pair from Zappos (I realize they are not producing the boot) I have had to return b/c of this issue. And, I have "smaller" foot. Very disappointed b/c they were ideal in appearance. Returning

The instep is very high making the shoe uncomfortable. Also, there is not any accordion fabric for the zipper, so you have to zip them up to be waterproof.

Boots are really hard. Not comfortable

I live in FL, so I primarily buy boots like this for winter travel with lots of walking. I did like the look of these boots however they were hard to get on. I had to really shove my foot in which stretched my sock tight over my toes. Once in, the fit was Ok however the boot was soooo stiff. when I walked the boot creased in the area right at the base of the big toe where it connects with foot and was really painful. Not a lot of cushioning int he footbed and very minimal arch support (I have a sky-high arch). I have what I would consider normal sized calves and that part fit fine. Not too big, not too small. Going back.

I loved the look but the leather is SO STIFF! Very uncomfortable. For this price I would have expected a more flexible, buttery leather.

I had a very hard time getting my foot into the boot.

Ok. I ordered gray. These were much darker than the photo, a very dark charcoal, almost black. I am a perfect 9 1/2 but I always order a half size up for boots, which has always worked out. I have normal feet. Not wide, no high arches or instep. But I COULD NOT EVEN GET THEM ON. And they were extremely stiff. So I had to send them back.

The heel was almost impossible to get on my foot. I was unable to take them off without assistance.

***NOT LIKE BOOTS PAST......I love Merrell boots from past years. I wear a 9. The Travvy and the Captiva were really awesome. (Bring them back please.) So I'm pretty baffled by this boot. What were they thinking?? I could only think that the designers finished these right before they were heading off on vacation. (Yikes, that's harsh.) But get this. I compared these to my tall Travvy....the sole of the Andover shoe is actually smaller in width and length and the sole is not as substantial in look and height. That matters to me. I want a shoe that has a good looking sole and substantial looking base to it. Kinda tough but not boyish. It's going to get dirty and it's going to get muddy. I didn't think this boot could handle much. Also, The 9 shoe feels smaller so it's more uncomfortable and it feels less supportive overall. It looks a bit cheaper as well. (I bought the brown color.) The style is blah but I could put up with no real cute factor for comfort. Bottom line: There was no reason to keep this boot. Further, It made me rethink the reliability of my top brand. I hope the designers return refreshed from their vacation with inspiration from past years.

The material is stiff and cheap. The fit is very small.

Cannot answer size, width or support as I could not get my feet into the boot. They probably will fit someone else with a size 8M fine but I could not arch my foot enough to get into them.

I have had to return so many boots to Zappos because you can't get the calf circumference anywhere close to what it actually is. I bought these because 14" would have been perfect. They are 16" and way too bulky under my bootcut pants and way to big of a gap with skirts and leggings. They look comical on me and I have average legs. Here goes another return.

If I can get my foot in the boot it probably would of been a nice boot to wear. Will be returning.

As has been mentioned in other reviews, the boot is nearly impossible to get on because the heel has no give.
