This is the best coat! Do not hesitate to get it. It is a great investment. It is not a clunky jacket and provides good mobility. It kept me warm with only a thick thermal long sleeve during the -40 wind chill polar vortex of 2014. When the temperature is between 25-35, you don't need a thermal and can wear a short sleeve shirt and are still very warm. The hood can be adjusted around the back of your neck as a scarf, if you don't want to put it on your head. The sleeves and waist cuffs provide a good fit. Plenty of pockets for storage, even an ear bud holder along the front zipper. Water beads right off if you get caught in snow or rain.

Love this coat!! It's a whole new kind of warm, and with the temps we've had last week here in Detroit, it has been an absolute life saver!!,

I purchased this for mu husband for Christmas. He works outside for the majority of the day and needed a coat that will keep him warm in the NorthEast weather. He loves this coat and it is very stylish as well. I highly recommend this product.

I bought this coat for my fiance for Christmas...HE ABSOLUTELY LOVES IT. He has been to a couple of outside sporting events and he says he's been totally warm! No complaints at all! We just hit below zero temps and he says the coat is still warm. I have a womens Denali, but I'm going to look into a coat with Hyvent for myself as well.

I was impressed with this coat after finally deciding to pull the trigger. I thought it was my duty to leave feedback as this is a large purchase for some and would enjoy hearing the reality of it all. I am tall and skinny and have long arms so finding a coat that is long enough but not so wide around the stomach is very hard. This coat fits like a glove! not to rave and rant about how awesome it is or anything, but i'm very happy i finally made the purchase. the coat looks like a million dollars and you feel like a million dollars when you wear it.

In years past I wasn't picky or discerning about winter coats - just looked for whatever was cheapest and available. This year I finally got tired of being cold all the time and decided to do some research. I decided I wanted a coat that would truly meet my needs - warm, block the wind, lightweight, fur lined hood, lots of pockets, down-filled and not too long or too 'puffy'. I discovered I was actually fairly picky about winter coats once I finally put my mind to it. My short-list resulted in two clear options: a down filled bomber jacket from either Canada Goose or North Face. I was very impressed with North Face and the Gotham bomber in particular. But it was the price that clinched it for North Face. The bloated price tag for Canada Goose products turned me off. North Face product quality, form and all key specs are essentially equal to Canada Goose - across the line in my (now much more informed) opinion. With the bomber jackets in mind, I think there is an edge on look in favour of the North Face Gotham too. I've had the Gotham for a few week now and I can say without hesitation that it is the best winter coat I have ever owned (and I've owned a lot over the years). Warmest ever, wind proof, rain proof, lightweight, great design and build quality. I love the pocket designed for mp3 players. The zipper is good, the hood is perfectly designed. The only negative might be that the front waist level pockets are not quite big enough to hold bulky winter gloves - for me, a minor quibble. I am so happy I settled on this amazing choice ! Size and fit are perfect too. I'm 5' 10" tall and weigh about 200 lbs, with fairly broad shoulders, so I went for the XL. Again, best coat ever !!

I bought this jacket about a month ago and the Gotham jacket is by far the best purchase I've ever made. This is my 5th year living in New York, moving from Florida. Each year it has been a struggle to find a jacket that actually keep me warm without having to add 3 or more extra layers. With the Gotham jacket I can keep comfortably warm only wearing a short sleeve t-shirt under the jacket in 20 degree weather with strong winds. Another plus would be the fleece like material in each pockets that give an extra level of warmth for your hands if you don't have gloves. The 2 pockets on the outer chest and the one inside chest area are great for storage. Finally the jacket just looks great, so you really can't lose buying the Gotham jacket. 10/10

So close to a perfect jacket! Overall its awesome. Its definitely warm and comfortable. Shoveling in zero degree weather with only a t-shirt on underneath. The built in face mask is awesome. Why they don't advertise this, I dont know. I didnt realize it had one until I was hanging up the jacket. I used the facemask skiing and it is surprisingly warm and stays in position. Just a couple things keeping this from 5 stars: 1) really wish the face mask was removeable so I could wash it without having to wash the entire jacket. Big miss there. 2) wish the zipper tassels were bigger so they are easier to grab with gloves on. 3) wish the inside chest pocket was a little bigger so it would comfortably fit a cell phone. Its a tight fit. Not of these issues would stop me from recommending this jacket though. Its over all great.

I use it to go to and from work and go out. Love how warm it keeps me and that I don't have to worry that it won't. I don't like that the hang tag ripped already only had it for about a month now.

The jacket is warm, durable, and fits great over 4 base layers: a sweatshirt and 3 long sleeves. I got a medium and I am 5"8 155 lbs.

Great jacket, but in a -5 wind chill with a light sweater and shirt, the shoulders let wind in that felt chilly. Maybe this counts as "breathable", but I felt like I paid for more. A mid layer helps.
