Bought these for warehouse work. While the sole is thick and excellent for continuous concrete impact, the footbed lacks any cushioning. Maybe okay for a couple hours of casual wear but definitely nothing extreme like hiking, exercising, or for working on concrete (even with ergo mats, still leaves feet aching and extremely tired). Moderate arch support, was surprised by that. My first Merrell’s; won’t be deterred from trying another style with a better footbed with cushioning. I am a woman and intentionally bought the men’s shoe to have extra room, and also a half size larger, and in a wide to allow for swelling during long warehouse shifts on my feet. The extra room in the toe box was wonderful, but If the footbed had been better designed and not so hard. Not a bad shoe, but not for long wear or exercise related activities.

I have been wearing Merrell Moab Edge 2 shoes for a awhile, not sure of the exact number of pairs I have purchased, but it is quite a few. Apparently Merrell has changed the design/updated the look, according to the person I e-mailed with, and now they are the most UNCOMFORTABLE shoes I have ever worn. Buyer beware

It fits very well. The padding is a bit thick, but I think that will wear nicely on the trail. The sole is VERY firm, but again, that will work well on the trail. It has tons of arch support. Almost too much, if that's a bother for you.

Beautiful shoe, but that's where the pretty part ends. If you have normal or wide feet, this will feel too tight. Unpleasantly tight. Going half size up makes zero difference. Also, feels a bit stiff unlike most of my other Merrells. The sole is not very cushy. It's great when a shoe looks great, but it would be truly great if it was comfy. After all, that's what a great shoe is supposed to be.
