Typical Keens. Immediately comfortable. Been wearing them for years and have never been disappointed. Well made always.

True fit and size. I was in Oboz-Wide, and they fit well, but I usually don't wear wide. The Keen's were a crap-shoot, since I have not tried them before. I was a Merrill Ventilator guy for years and years, but then the seem to have switched them up. Luckily, my local shop were able to put me in the Oboz Sawtooth, but they were surprised I needed Wide, me too. Was going back to what worked last time, but they were "out of stock" for what seemed forever. Thought I'd try the Keen's and they worked out great. Love the boxy foot chamber (?). Of course as soon as I committed to the Keens the Oboz came back in stock. I think I might like the Keens better, now.
I'd also recommend:

I have been buying Keen shoes for years because of the consistency of quality and fit. The Targhee III WPs that I just bought are a replacement for the same shoes that I wore out walking my dog 3-4 miles every day in all kinds of weather. I like the wide toe box in Keens and the great arch support, although I frequently use a SuperFeet insert for extra comfort and support. My feet stay dry in the rain and snow when wearing these and the rubber soles have great traction. I think they actually improved the sole design since my last ones because they have better grip on the path than the last ones, wet or dry. These shoes wear well, although I will try to wear them out so I can buy another pair. The Zappos experience was great - easy to order, free shipping and they arrived as scheduled.

Everything about these shoes is perfect. I buy a new pair every six months, and probably will for the rest of my life.

Wear 9 1/2 D- shoes fit perfect- Wide toe is a plus- opened box went for 60 minute walk in state park- trails are rocky, muddy and slick. Shoes performed as advertised. Description on web site is right on. If you want a shoe that performs as advertised buy this one- it's expensive but worth it.

Only concern with the Keen Targhee III is longer term tread ware. Wide spaced lugs provide good traction, but I suspect the greater weight per lug will cause them they to ware faster than other Keen tread patterns.

I love these shoes! Wide toe box, sturdy with great support and comfortable all day! I wear custom orthotics in mine and my feet are not cramped.
I love these so much I went back a week later and bought another pair!

I have been buying these Keen Targhee lll trail hikers for a number of years. They always fit my feet like a glove. Very comfortable. You should use crew socks.
I walk miles and miles on cement and asphalt, as well as dirt trails. These Keen trail hikers hold up for at least a year. They are waterproof in normal wet conditions.
They are also a very good looking shoe. But strictly casual-with jeans-but not dress. Cargo pants are fine.

Have put quite a few miles on these so far, very comfortable.
Bean recommends getting a 1/2 size larger, I normally wear 11.5 so I ordered 12's at first the fit was good, after a week of break in, I feel 11.5 would've been a better pick.
wearing thicker socks helps

Ordered size 11 which is what my old pair was and they fit a little loose but with a heavier sock they were just right. Good arch support.

This shoe is very comfortable and supportive. The wide toe area is especially good for my feet. One of the best shoes I've ever worn for comfort and suport.
The shoe is rated as breathable. I find it about as breathable as a leather shoe, which is good. More air circulation would be better.
The laces that same with the shoe were about 6 - 8" too long - easy enough to remedy.

This is one of many pairs of Keens. I cannot wear anything else. When I put them on, its as if they are not new. They fit perfect everytime. I walk on hard cement floors in a school all day long.

This is my first pair of Keen Targhee III Low Hikers. I wear a 9 D dress shoe and purchased these hikers in a size 10 medium. With light hiking socks they fit very well. They required very little breaking in and after a week of walking the streets of New York City on a recent trip, they are definitely keepers. I replaced the removable inner sole with a cushioned anti microbial insole before my trip and my feet felt fine after each day of walking. I expect they will also perform very well on outdoor trails around home this fall and winter.

Great boot. True to size. Well constructed. Nice color combination. Since it is true to size, if you need a longer toe box for hiking, you might consider sizing 1/2 up. All in all a good purchase.

trying not to read online reviews. so I picked these because of looks, price and width.
my first pair of hiking shoes. when I first put them on and walked around the block they were a lot different then my sneakers.
but- when I went for my first hike of many so far in these shoes these are killer. so comfortable. absorb all the shocks and the more I wear the more broken in they become.
excellent shoes, highly reccommend

This is my second pair of Targhee boots, and I have been very happy with the choice. They were originally suggested by a shoe salesman in the Freeport Store, because I have a wide foot (2-3E) and a high arch. Most medium width shoes are too tight. These fit nicely from day one, are comfortable, and have great grip on trails and rocks!

I purchased these shoes as a second choice after sending back other shoes. I was a little skeptical about Keene shoes because there are too many moving parts. I am very particular about my outdoor shoes as far as fit and function. I love these shoes. They are easy on, easy off, water proof and very comfortable

Comfortable fit right out of the box, no break in period. Purchased in August 2022. Used exclusively by a homeowner, to do yard work one or twice a week. Mowing lawn, hedges, cleaning beds, trimming trees etc. In spring 2025 the soles separated from the upper shoe. Started on the toe on one shoe then the side of the other shoe. I did use Gorilla Glue to reattach and have been using them.
