I've gone through two pairs of Moabs in about 5 years and they're great shoes for every day and light hiking on firm footing. Comfortable, cool, and they wear like iron. I gave them only three stars overall because for more serious hiking, they don't grip well on trails with even a little surface looseness; e.g. a firm but dusty trail with some loose surface gravel, and especially when descending. The tread pattern looks omnidirectional, but has few "cross sole" gripping edges.

I enjoy these boots. I have wide feet and the wide size definitely accommodated my size. I’d say they run a little larger than expected. The shoe is very comfortable for short or long hikes. I did find them to lose traction a little on wet hikes, but great overall.

True to length, A little wide especially at the toebox. Other than that a comfortable shoe. If you need more room in the toebox a good fit.

I wear a medium to wide shoe. Sometimes a medium shoe works just fine. Sometimes I order a wide shoe. With these, I ordered wide and my feet a swimming in them. I have found in the past that Merrel shoes when marked wide are too wide.

My husband loves these shoes. They have great arch support. He is on the tarmac most of the day and they help his back and feet not hurt so much any more. Also, the soles don’t wear out like most other brands.

Super comfortable fit from Merrell. Great soles and traction. Nice styling!

I ordered these as a gift for my Dad who (unlike me!) is NOT picky... but frustratingly (also unlike me!) is VERY DIFFICULT to fit due to having a VERY WIDE foot. [For your average type of "casual" shoe, he normally takes extra wide OR, on the W, 2W, 3W scale: he's normally a 2W, occasionally even fitting in to 3W]. He was in need of some low cuts and wanted a running or hiking shoe type fit for the extra cushion because he's on his feet a lot doing yard work and in addition walks about 1 mile/day (mostly on paved streets). I was a bit concerned that "just" the W width would not be enough, but I have a mildly wide forefoot (and also own a different version of the Merrell Moabs myself), and have found the regular width to be pleasantly roomier in the forefoot than many other shoes, so I took a chance on getting "just" the W width for my Dad; and am so glad I did, as he said that both fit & comfort are SUPERB! As an added bonus (coming from New Balance shoes), he LOVES the deep grippy tread, the protective toe guard, and the beautiful appearance! And KUDOS to zappos for the FASTEST SHIPPING EVER!!! I placed the order AFTER 7:30 PM on a Friday night (local/Arizona time) and when I woke up and checked my email around 8:15 AM Monday morning, they had already ARRIVED to my Dad (who's on Eastern Time), and he had just returned from his morning walk in them. LIGHTENING FAST, especially during the holidays!

Merrell 2w is the only shoe I can buy sight unseen.

Bought these shoes for my husband, an avid fan of Merrell shoes. This must be his 5th or 6th pair of this general style of shoe and he never hesitates to re-order. He's on his feet on concrete floors all day and loves the cushion and support provided by these shoes, not to mention their style. Can't go wrong with Merrell!

Merrell loves my feet and my feet love Merrell. I have multiple pairs. After taking my Moab 2 Prime shoes out of the box I hiked over ten miles in the next two days. No issues, no hot spots. Great product.
