I have these and the Forsstbound Waterproof, both are very comfortable. I have no complaints with either of these shoes. I recently bought some Moab's and I feel these may be even more comfotable

I bought size 8 they were bigger than previous size 8's that I bought.On the inside label it said US 8 and UK 8.Did i in fact get US 8.5?

My Forestbound Mid Waterproof boots are awesome. They are very comfortable. I've been wearing them everyday.

Disclaimer, I've put in my high arch inserts, making these all-day-don't-want-to-take-off comfortable, but even before the insert, they were very nice. The boots are incredibly light, but feel well built (for the price). The toe box is nice and open, but not so wide that a slim foot will feel loose. These boots were made for walking and hiking for sure. They're stylish. They dry relatively quickly. Merrell's got a new regular customer.

Right shoe is already splitting at seam, haven't had this happen to any other merrell's I have owned. Love the boots so sad to see this. Only been wearing them for a month or two.

i wear these daily but i am pretty hard on shoes. my previous identical pair lasted me 11 months, before blowing out the side seam and leaking. This is better than the keens, timberlands, and lower priced merrells that last me about 6 months before they fall to pieces. The round shoe laces that come w/ them do not stay tied. They are waterproof for awhile, but subsequently do not breathe very well. Still, the most durable and comfortable every day boot i have found for the price.

I live in the Central Colorado Mountains with hikes from mild to expedition right out my front door. The Forestbound is about as much boot as I ever wear for climbing rough 14ers or backpacking. (The Moab WP is my day hiker) I'm wide EEE left EEEE right) This boot broke in easily to accommodate. Fit seems a long-ish compared to other Merrell's. Easy to get on/off, and like most Merrell's: Comfy. Stability is good, but those carrying very heavy loads of with weak ankles might need a bit more support. Sole grip is excellent.

Sole is stiff enough for moderate hiking (variable terrain, rocks, etc), better than many light hiking boots which have excessively flexible soles these days.

Love all my Merrill's and I look forward to these being able to give me firm ankle support. At present it's tough to tightened them firmly at the top hooks. I'm assuming as they get broken in, that will resolve.
