Originally purchased the less expensive pair of this style of boot but found the quality less than expected so decided to bite the bullet and return them for the considerably higher priced boot. But I absolutely made the right decision. Haven't been this happy with a pair of winter boots in many years. They have been absolutely perfect for our winter weather here in Maine. I've worn them for daily walking on solid surfaces usually covering 2-3 miles. They've been great when conditions are less than perfect be it wet, snow or ice. My feet have been warm, dry and comfortable. They've also worn extremely well and there's no notice of wear on the treads even with countless miles on them. The uppers have also held up extremely well and look good as new. I have no doubt they'll serve me for at least several more winters. And that's considering winter starts in November here in Maine and I'm still wearing them and it's almost May. Highly recommend this boots!

The first morning I had them, I was just dressed for work in an office environment and just wanted to wear them. I live right on a river and noticed it was rising that morning and was about 4" above my dock with my two kayaks out there floating freely within the handrails. At 8 in the morning, I walked out to them in the 3-4" of water in my dress clothes and pulled the kayaks in to my boathouse. My feet never got the least bit wet and never even could tell that my feet were ever in water. I got straight in my car and drove to work after that... These boots are amazingly comfortable and 100% waterproof and they look good. I always get compliments on them.

As a sufferer of plantar faciatis I've spent a small fortune trying to find a boot that fits and works well for mountain hiking. These are it! Warm waterproof supportive lightweight and so comfy. I'm ordering a 2nd pr as I'm sure they'll be discontinued in a year.

Just as warm as the Thermo 6, but with more support.Very comfortable fit with ample toe box space. Overall a very good winter hiking boot

I take my Merrell right out of the box and off I go, no break in required. I own many pairs of Merrell hiking boots and they have all fit well and have all been comfortable right out of the box.

These boots were purchased for golf when it is cold and wet outside. I have used them a couple of times. They are warm and completely waterproof. The traction on the bottom is good for hiking or walking a golf course and they do not tear up the greens. They also give good ankle support if you have any ankle issues. Just find the right size and you will be happy. I also got them to use on cool mornings with heavy dew on the ground and they are perfectly waterproof for that kind of water as well

Took a minute to break in the heal but it was a great boot!

Bought these just before the snow started to fall in Michigan. I've used them for snow blowing and just some trips for various errands. My impressions so far are they are water proof and warm. No problems with the eyelets. The laces are a bit weird in that they want to loosen up as your tying them down. They seem to be stretchy. The boots for me at least seem a bit narrow but I really haven't broken them in yet. Overall they are a good looking boot; quality seems fine. Traction on snow and ice is very good.

Waterproof and comfortable. Have had many 5km-10km walks in -20C (or colder) weather and the boots have been nice and warm. Would have given 5 stars had it not been for the round laces requiring double knots.

We bought the boots for our son. He has only worn it a few times so far and said they are warm and comfortable so he gave 4 stars. He hasn't have the chance to wear it under very cold conditions yet but the weather is starting to get cold here so will see what he thinks about it after he wears it more. Will probably give a more detail review after the winter season.

Liking these boots. They're warm, comfortable and the grip very good. Did some snowshoeing in these and they performed very well. I am very satisfied.

Really comfortable boot but a bit too high for hiking when fully laced up. I left out top eyes and then was ok for hiking, very worm and roomy with what appears to be a durable outer after four weeks

I haven't had these very long but 8kms in them seem like a short distance!

Solid boots that feel toasty, comfortable and secure on the snow, just as I'd expect from a pair of Merrells.

Hi, this is a great boot for hiking, warm and waterproof. Use it with an ice grip in icy places, otherwise you may loose your balance!!
