light and sneakerish got my 12 yr old a pair.
I would go a size up especially if you plan on putting larger socks underneath. His feet got wet but he was out in 10 inches of snow..........So, who knows

Ordered 1/2 size up based on the previous reviews (Thanks!)...but still very snug with one pair of heavy socks. Wish they had an eyelet for the laces by the ankles like most hiking boots to tighten up the heel...these are more like sneakers...not complaining...very light and comfortable. The thermal reflective material appears to be only on the tongue...I see they removed the -25 degree rating from the product description. but If it does get that cold...thats what my bugaboos are for anyway. Haven't worn it in wet conditions so no verdict on waterproofness...but I can always hit it with some silicone spray

I have had a problem with shoes running a little small. This is my first pair where I ordered half size bigger than normal.

Great product, but very tight fiting shoe in the toes. I went a half a size bigger, if this product was offered in a wide size i did not see it listed. But other than that a great shoe and it keeps my feet nice and dry and after breaking them in comfortable.

I love this shoe. My toes got a little cold after a few hours...It runs slightly small. By the time I put my orthotics in they fit like a dream....So, I ordered another pair....

Keeps my feet warm into the 30's only complaints is the laces. They don't stay tied!!!!!

I really enjoy these boots. I was hoping they would be extra warm based on other reviews, but the best way I could classify them is "comfortable". They're not extra warm but they are not cold. My feet feel really good in the boots.

I purchased this as an everyday winter shoe instead of the usual bulky and heavy winter boots. These shoes look and feel more like a high-top sneaker than a winter boot. As mentioned in other reviews, the shoe does run a bit narrow so I was glad I ordered a half size larger. The fit is decent with the mid-weight Smart Wool socks I generally wear in the winter. The shoe's Omni-Heat liner works well to keep my feet warm, but breathable socks are highly recommended to pull any moisture away from your feet. The Omni-Tech waterproofing appears to be working fine so far, but due to the short, mid-ankle height of the shoe I won't be wading through any large snow drifts or deep slush. This shoe is a good choice for everyday urban wear, but keep the big winter boots handy for the serious winter outdoor trekking.

I have been amazed at how light the shoes feel while walking and on short hikes. I am using them for daily work and short hikes near my home in the Pacific Northwest and in pouring rain. The waterproofing works quite well. I have not completed a mountain trail with them yet, but they do seem worthy of simple trails. I prefer something with a stronger sole for longer hikes or rocky trails.

Good looking hiker. Real comfortable. Not heavy, been wearing around in 40 to 70 degree weather to get ready for 20 degree weather. So far not hot or cold to wear. Curious to see how real cold temp will be because it is leather. Love them, good tread on them. Grips well. I'm female with a wide foot, 9.5-10 women's size usually, and this fit is perfect in the mens 8.5.

because the construction of the shoe (the tong is attached to the throat of the shoe) it make hard/tight to place the foot in with a regular socks. after you fully introduce your foot, the sock is not tightening the foot making uncomfortable to walk...
I hope the new model can fix the tong-throat to allow more expansion at the moment to introduce the foot.... I will return this shoes, I like it because the technology but the construction can be improved.

I really like these hiking boot. Columbia Omni heat is the greatest thing since wool socks.
I had another pair of Columbia boots with Omni heat. However, the puppy got ahold of one shoe and seems to love the Omni heat as much as me. So much he chewed the upper part of one boot.
Anyway l sent these back because they seem to run narrow on my feet. I have (and had) other Columbia shoes/ boots and used the same size with much joy.
I got a different pair with same 13 size and they fit great.
No knock on the boot:just be aware that they run a bit narrow. Length is about right.

These perform well but they are hell to break in and you need narrow ish feet to really enjoy them.

I bought these thinking they were more like warm and waterproof running shoes than hiking boots, but despite the pictures they really are hiking boots in size, look and function. I use them for walking or biking to work on rainy and snowy, 15 degree days when other shoes get soaked and leave my feet cold. They work as advertised - they are warm and you can tell from the fabric coating they will stay waterproof. However, with thick tread and a rise that reaches the ankle, they really are boots and so they are a bit clunky for walking city streets. I sometimes underestimate the tread thickness and scrape the pavement with my standard stride! So while these are good boots and moderately attractive, they are made for more extreme conditions than I intended.

Got couple these shoes a week or so back. Saw some reviews before purchasing where it was mentioned that laces don't stay tied. It is absolutely true, they won't stay tied for 5-10 minutes which is beyond ridiculous for a hiking boot. People hiking cannot stop every 5-10 minutes to tie their laces.

This was my first Colombia shoe purchase. I really wish these actually fit me. I typically wear a size 12 in all brands of shoes and boots. However, these fit like a size 13 on length. The width is perfect though. The feel is solid and appears to be high quality. But I bought a size 12 because the reviews I saw all say "true to size".
I recommend you measure your foot and look at the sizing guide. It seems Colombia runs long compared to others.

Shoes looks great, however the heel area is too loose and the toe area is too narrow. It's not just a matter of purchasing a size up, that would exacerbate the already wide fitting heel. It's just weirdly proportioned. I returned these shoes and did not purchased any other.

It ran a size too small for me. I typically wear 10.5. I had to return because it felt too tight.

Great shoe, light and tough. The only problem I have with it is when Driving for over an hour the heal hurts allot.
But besides that perfect shoe.
