After reading lots of reviews I decided to give these work shoes a try. My work has me on my feet for 10hrs a day, on steel vibrating decks(boat). On average I walk 20-30,000 steps a day and 50-60 flights of stairs..... needless to say I need something comfortable. Unfortunately these shoes were not it. After the first day, I couldn't walk after I got home from work my feet hurt worse than I've ever experienced. After letting my feet heal I tried to ease into them on partial days, same result, so as to not have them be a total loss I took the insoles out and put in a set of quality insoles from my hunting boots, I immediately felt a difference and could make it through a day of work without hobbling. It's been 9 months now and I still only use these shoes part time out of necessity because they're only bearable to wear a cpl days a week. Over time I've noticed the sole and toe cap deteriorating rapidly even with part time use. I'm really surprised Merrell puts their name on these shoes.
