The insert inside this shoe causes discomfort during my 8 hour work day on my feet! I also stepped on a screw that pierced the sole through the bottom of the boot and nearly cut my foot! The boot seem quite sturdy otherwise

Love the shoe for the most part but needs better support for me. Can only make it half through my day. Before my feet are killing me.

Security job. Bought them for comfort. But squeezed my toes. Wide enough through the foot but too small at the toe and the compost toe made it a tight fit. Returned them and bought the Moab 2 boot. Much better. I own 5 pairs of Merrell from sandals to shoes hiking boots . All others were great. These just were not for me. ..

I usually wear a 9.5, so I ordered that size, recieved them, but were too big. Then I finally got a 9, walked around in them for a bit and thought they fit. I've had them for about a month and turns out they fit big as well. I never would have thought that this product would run a full size too big. Wish sizing was more accurate.

I know colors can differ from photos on websites. But the difference of shade is big. When I opened the box once it arrived I was astonished on how dark it was. I was expecting a lighter shade close to the pictures shown on the website.

These are adequate shoes in that they are reasonably comfortable and provide the necessary Safety Shoe features. Have purchased many pairs of Merrell shoes and have been generally satisfied. But to call this pair waterproof is completely ridiculous. Walking In Rain about 100 ft for about 60 seconds the tops were completely soaked through. Which of course anyone with common sense would recognize that a mesh surface is not going to be waterproof. Please address these more accurately as slightly water-resistant but even that is a stretch. They are acceptable shoes they simply have absolutely no water repellent or water resistant qualities.

I've had my latest Merrells for a few months and they just don't make them like they use too. Over the years quality and craftsmanship seems to have taken a back seat. For my next set I'll have to go with another choice . After many years I need to ensure my feet are comfortable and taken care of. Job site construction and range control.

After a month of wear I have separation of the midsole and toe box, could be from working on uneven surfaces or just a bad QC the shoe is comfortable for the work I do.

I have been a loyal Merrell wearer for decades however my loyalty is slipping away. After trying a pair of Phaserbound boots that failed within a week of starting to wear them I was concerned. Merrell did what was kind of right and gave me a credit, I was hesitant about the credit and probably would have been happier with my money back but tried these Vertex. They don't seem to be much better quality versus the Phaserbound. For the average hiker or user they would probably be "OK" but for someone using them as a work boot these are bottom of the barrel. Sole is only weeks old and showing significant wear, lots of stretch in the material and overall they seem like they will last 3-4 months.

These shoes hurt my heel and instep. Good looking shoe easy to put on and take off but they got uncomfortable within a month. I have used other Merrell products that performed excellent. These just do it for me.

Wish these had a vibram sole. The soles get hard when cold making them uncomfortable. Never had this issue with regular moabs or any other shoes that have a vibram sole.

I have owned the regular moab 2 boot and love it. But the work boot, never again. I am a plumber, new construction and install. I own 4 work shoes, 2 for winter and 2 for summer, this way I can alternate and not go through shoes so quickly. I picked the same size boot and cant remember if it was too large or too small, but it was off my a full size. The comp toe is hurting my big toe, even a few days after not wearing the shoe it hurts. My shoe is literally falling apart, the siding and sole of the shoe are ripping apart and the laser holder has started to rip. I have never gone through a work shoe so quickly. After my past experience with merrell I wanted to get more. Now I'm not sure if I can depend on this brand for work. And from my boot falling apart I have found another brand I like more.

I've owned these boots for about 9 months. They are very comfortable but could not hold up to the work I do. I'm a mechanic and I have to bend down alot on a concrete floor to set the lift for cars/trucks. The material around the toe on both boots has torn open. The right boot has gotten so bad the safety toe came completely out. I've always loved Merrells hiking boots have owned several pairs. Unfortunately I will not be purchasing another set of work boots from them.
