I have had these boots for 7 months now. They are very comfortable but lack durability and true waterproof ability. I work for an airline on the ramp, as such I spend my whole day on flat concrete surfaces in all weather conditions and average 10-15 miles per shift. I have found the weakest areas to be the sole of the boot and stitching around the toe. The laminated construction of the sole has had to be reglued several times and the outer sole is just too thin and worn completely down to the inner foam. As for the stitching of the rubber cap on the toe it causes the rubber to rip at the stitch and subsequently peel back. The weight and comfort of the boots is great. Unfortunately they just not durable enough. As for the waterproofing of worn in a steady rain the water eventually soaks through (not coming in from the top. It soaks from the outside in). For the price they should provide more than 9 months of service.

I went to Poland for work where I stood 12 hours on concrete and metal. These boots were great for about 8-9 hours, but then my ankles and back started hurting me. The next day I changed to a different boot manufacturer, and for the next 14 days, I didn't hurt a bit. I then traveled to another location and used them for a few days and the same back and ankle pain came back. The boots need better insoles so I am trying that next. I am giving these boots 3 stars because out in the dirt, these are awesome and are waterproofed well.

Coming apart after a month of use. Need to be a half size larger. I have been using Merrill's for 15 years and have always loved them.

Hopefully they break in a little more. They are extremely stiff with limited flexibility. Not happy so far.

Cons: As a woman I ordered the men’s shoe in hopes there would be more room in the toe box. This was not the case. The width on these is pretty narrow. These are the second pair of Merrill shoes I have owned and both seem to curl your toes upward verses having a flat feel inside the shoe.
Pros: these shoes do have good arch support and my back did not hurt on long 10 hour shifts.

The shoes are normally great, but I found the composite toe kept digging into my toes on the side.

I had to send them back because there was a material defect inside the left shoe. The inner material above the toes was not installed well. There were wrinkles in the fabric which pushed on the foot. It was an obvious defect of the manufacturing of the shoe.

Shoes fit great and were the correct size. BUT, I returned a pair of boots and spent 45 minutes on the phone ensuring my account was credited and then my credit card got charged. Can you rectify this issue for me please?

I ordered these boots literally the day after I bought a pair of the moab 2 waterproof hiking boots. My expectations were that these boots would essentially be a carbon copy with a composite toe and legal for me to wear at work. They do not fit and feel like the moab 2's so if that is what you are looking for sadly these boots are not the same. The moab 2 fits like a custom made shoe made from unicorn blood and fairy dust by far the most amazing foot wear that I have ever put on my feet. After tearing a ligament in my foot the moab 2 was the only shoe I could walk in without a brace or being tightly wrapped. Now for the good if I had never experienced the moab 2 I would have given this boot a 5 star review and would have praised its comfort and build quality. These are very nice boots but I was looking for a composite toe moab 2 and these just aren't it. Would still recommend to just about anyone looking for a comfortable boot that you can work in all day and log a bunch of steps without your feet being sore (48,000 steps the past two days) these boots will do you very good just not as good as the moab 2

Comfort of the boot is fine. I think I've worn the boot around 10 months. Soles are fine, but the bending part behind the toes didn't hold up for me.

I really like the Moab line but the soul is to soft for a work boot . I wore the heel out in a month & in two months I have holes in them

Had them for a while now. Work both inside and outside so i needed some winter boots.
Good:
they are somewhat warm, not for really cold.
Wide are alright for me
They do repel some water, but i would not jump in deep holes
Bad: they are so freakingly slippery! Almost broke my neck or a bone lots of time. Not clean ice, but even hard compact snow.

Shoe width seemed good but after 8 hours on my feet the tow last toes on my right foot were beginning to hurt and after 10 hours started going numb...AGAIN!
Couldn't get these a half size larger, in fact almost ALL shoes I looked at were out of stock in wide widths.

The good:
- light weight
- mostly comfortable
- look good
-
- repel water
The not so good:
- The sole feels narrow. I ordered regular width as that is my foot size. However, the shoe width makes me feel like I have hooves instead of a nice wide base. Not as stable as I would have liked. When I compared the footprint of these to my Wolverines, these are about 5/16th of an inch narrower in the heel and about 1/8th inch narrower in the ball.

Very disappointed in these. I'm a landscaper and have tried many, many, MANY different boots. I cant find a boot that will last more than a yr and stay waterproof. Had high hopes for these boots. I cant even walk through wet grass with these. The mesh part which covers the entire boot becomes soaked and will stay like that. Not sure what the purpose of having mesh fabric on a work boot is but it doesnt work at all. I can check merrell off my boots to not buy for work list now. Very disappointed

I bought these boots fairly recently in the hope that they would fulfill my needs as a merchant Mariner. I work 7/12's , 2 months on, 1 month off. I'm on my feet all day on ship. First off, the fit was about perfect, the sole seems to be of good quality. When you plant your feet , the sole of the boot really plants you in place and it feels very stable. I have zero concern with ever rolling my ankle in these boots. The only two issues I have are 1) When tying the boot at the top , the lace ties at the bottom of the tongue and cuts into my front part of my ankle and 2) They have somewhat of a bit of insulation, not much but down here in Louisiana, anything will cause your feet to sweat. I feel these would be a great fall weather boot. I'll continue to wear them till I'm ready for a new pair but will still be on the hunt for the perfect work boot.
