I bought two pairs of these after losing some weight (after owning them previously in a larger size) and returned one pair just because I didn't end up needing that color. I kept the navy -- it's a dark blue but clearly distinguishable from black. The fabric is lightweight for summer and a nice matte finish. I am 5'0" and 126#/curvy, and I bought the short inseam. The pants just cover my ankles when standing, and they come above my ankles when sitting, so I'd recommend the regular length unless you're very short like me. The pockets aren't deep enough for me to carry my (not giant) phone without being afraid that it might fall out. Also, the boot cut is a little more exaggerated than I'd like, and I'd prefer if the pants didn't have a drawstring. However, overall, I can't really complain -- the pants fit extremely well, are nice quality and cool, and are attractive for hiking pants. I'll buy them yet again if I drop another size. ;)

I now own 15 pairs of these (bought over a few years). They are so comfortable and flattering. Great for all but the coldest months. Over time they do stretch out a bit and get pills on them. At that point they become chore pants for around the house. Amazingly, they retain their water repellency for a long time. Great for when I'm watering the garden or hosing off the driveway. Hope Columbia keeps making them. Would like more dark colors including a darker shade of blue.

Very comfortable, good length, love the drawstring. I'm 5'6 and 170, large butt, thighs, calves (trifecta of lower body issues), and the 16 was roomy and comfortable.

I love these pants! I would normally order a size smaller, but after reading the reviews I ordered one size up, and they fit great! I am 5’6, about 140 pounds and ordered a size 8. So comfy!

It's difficult to find pants that fit both in the waist and butt at the same time when you are a weight lifter. These fit amazing! They are also water wicking and keep you dry. Plus the inseam is 32in which is near impossible to find unless you buy tall and have them hemmed.

I LOVE these pants. I purchased them on sale and I think that Columbia does such a good job creating quality products at affordable prices.

Love these pants! They are super light weight, flattering and true to size. So glad they come in the shorter length.

I tried these on assuming that I wouldn't like the way they fit at my waist. It turns out they fit greatI'm 58 and have some extra weight around the middle and thighs. These pants are very comfortable and fit well. I can wear them in situations I couldn't wear sweats or leggings and they look MUCH better. I love them.

I originally bought the "city grey" last summer for work and fell in love with them. I was hoping to get another pair or two of the grey but they're no longer offered. :( So, settled for the dark blue. They fit perfectly, just like the original pair. I'm 4'11" and a little thick in the middle and rear. The zipper and snap button make them a dream to wear. I could use an inch shorter on the "Short" inseam but it doesn't really bother me. I'd wear these every day all summer long! My only request is to bring back the grey and maybe offer more lighter colors .. please and thank you!

BUY THESE! I do field work and am currently out in humid and hot weather and constantly sweating - these are great for field/outside work. The pants I was previously wearing looked like I peed myself from how much sweat was visible but these pants are so great at moisture wicking and not making sweat visible. I also want to say I am currently overweight and very uncomfortable in my four month post partial body BUT NOT IN THESE PANTS. They feel comfortable and don't go super high up on my stomach ( I dislike when pants leave indents or make your stomach have an "overhang" when you're on the bigger side). For reference- I am 5'3" and my post-parturition weight is currently 190 and I ordered a size 14 in the short length. They are NOT tight in tn belly, and very comfortable in the legs. Compared to my Kuhl pants that are in a 16 which fit smaller and can be tight around my stomach until they are worn in during the day. 10/10 recommend.

These are awesome pants. Lightweight and quick drying. A nice alternative to jeans. The ink color is a little more of a blueish grey but still a nice color.

These pants are great for All occasions! Hiking working to casual events. I wear them All the time.

Bought a pair in gray (which I was hoping to replace but sadly out in my size) literally over 10 years ago and still to this day wear them. Are they getting a slight bit ragged and thinner? Yes - but still as comfy as ever. If this pair lasts me this long it'll be win win! Never stop making this style Columbia!!

Lightweight, stretchy in all the right places, soft waistband with drawstring adjustment, and enough pockets to carry your essentials. These pants are great for travel, hiking or just a trip to the grocery store. Comfortable all day without looking like sweat pants. They are fitted just right in the butt and thigh and I like the boot cut to cover the top of my shoes. The fabric washes easily and dries quickly, even in a hotel sink. Bought my first pair of black in 2012 and they are still going strong. I wear a 12S which is just the right length to cover my shoe tops but the short sizes are almost never found in the retail stores.

I’m a teacher and struggle to find pants that I can move, bend over, crouch down, etc. I honestly was expecting to have to return these because I have terrible luck with pants. I have large thighs and a big caboose, but a smaller waist, so pants are my nemesis. Out of the package I felt they were a little tight on the thigh, almost didn’t bother, but kept going thankfully. They were a bit snug in the thigh, but surprisingly fitting like a glove. They are actually wonderful!! After the first wash, they are even better! I am always constantly tugging up the waists of my pants and these I really don’t have to, honestly! I mean a little here and there just to cover my muffin top, but nothing like regular pants that continuously slide down! The drawstring at the waist is perfect and the front pockets fit a large sized cell phone. I was also surprised how well you can dress these up. I was expecting I’d have to wear them with just t-shirts on casual days, but I can pull off a nicer sweater with them and it doesn’t look too out of place! I would highly recommend these and will be ordering more!

These are amazing. I bought one pair and had to go back for 2 more! 5'8" 175 lbs, size 12's fit perfectly. These are a must buy.

Best pants that I have ever worn

Comfy. Easy to clean and quick drying. Not too hot. I wouldn't mind if there weren't ties on them, but it's fine. The short length option is amazing (I'm 5'2"). Very nice cut on my Venus size thighs. I got size 8. I'm about 140lbs. I could have been ok in 6, but would be snug

I have worn Columbia pants for over 20 years. I've hiked in them through mountains in France, Austria, Germany, Switzerland , South Africa and many other places. I use my old sail cloth style still today to garden. Columbia has the best fabrics, colors and especially cut. I am a slim female, but petite. I love that the short pants are well proportioned and that they need no tailoring! They are attractive enough to pair with a nice top or sweater and wear to dinner at an upscale European restaurant. I love this particular style with the firm velcro secured back pocket which easily accommodates a passport or a cell phone. Forward thinking for active women of any age!

I'm 5'5 and 140lbs, these pants fit my short and stout legs perfectly (I did not buy the short length). Fit well enough that I can layer tights under them for cold hiking. Nice enough for casual wear outsude of hiking as well. Highly recommend these!!

I bought a pair of these pants at Beals Dept Store in Cape Coral, Florida while on holiday in May. They were so good - I wore them hiking in England - that I decided to order another pair in a different colour on line when I returned home. I was quite disappointed that Columbia don't ship to Australia especially as Australia is listed in their drop down menu of countries they ship to. Not to be deterred, I had them sent to a friend in Florida who then sent them to me. They arrived last week and they are perfect. Nothing comes even close to them in style and quality in Perth, Western Australia.

I absolutely love these pants. This is my 4th pair. What was odd, is I bought my normal size 4, but they were so small they wouldn't button. Ordered a size up and they fit perfect. My 3 pairs of size 4 are from about 5 years ago, so it seems sizing has changed. Just something to keep in mind.

Flattering fit but could be improved by making the rise a little higher to cover hip muffins. They will stretch some after wearing. Material pilling but the tradeoff for use in backpacking is worth it. These are perfect for office to trail.

Unfortunately, I could not find the inseam lengths for these pants. Options are short or regular. The link to size and fit guide does not describe inseam lengths. I am 5'4" and ordered the short. These hit about my ankle, too short for me. Now I have to return them and pay return shipping. Frustrated that I have to pay to return them when there is no information about inseam lengths and thus ordered the wrong length. Columbia: enter the inseam lengths so customers know what to purchase.
