there was a small bump on the right shoe on the inside half of the shoe on the tongue that pressed into my foot. it seems to be getting better as the shoe breaks in. the left shoe fit perfectly just like other vans have in the past

Pretty comfy once you get them on. Wish there was a pull on the back to help with that. Feel a bit thinner than my last pair of sk8 his but that may be on purpose? Only time will tell. Love the color though! Canvas section looks close to a forest green.

I bartend at a busy NYC restaurant. After a few months I am very happy with these. They are slip resistant to the point that I had to get used to not tripping over myself as they stick so well to the floor. They are stain and water resistant. I’ve dropped decent amounts of water on my feet multiple times. My feet stayed dry & shoes look clean. I have super high arches and use a second insert with these. That said they are more comfy than my regular shoes I wear outside of work. My only neg is that the canvas area looks more grey than black.

I work in a kitchen, so slip resistance is important especially in the dish room. My only problem is the high tops don't have much give and have bruised my ankles.

I'm a bartender who needed a non slip shoe but wanted a little style. I wear Vans on the regular and I wasn't feeling the typical cheap looking nonslip shoe. I found out Vans made these so I had to have a pair.
When compared to normal Vans I feel these are priced way too high. I paid for 2 day shipping so they arrived quickly. For a nonslip shoe the sole works great. They have a great classic Vans look to them but these are not the shoe to wear if you'll be up on your feet for long periods of time. The insole for the type of shoe being advertised needs to be upgraded. If you purchase these and plan to be on your feet a lot go up a 1/2 size and buy some high quality insoles to add some comfort.

These are much more comfortable that the previous work shoes I had, and way better looking. I’m on my feet for 8 hours and used to have pretty bad back, leg, and feet pain with my previous shoes. My only complaint is these are supposed to be non slip and they really aren’t so watch your step

Shoes fit great super nice nonslip for the kitchen and look boss, want to love but the tongue straps are really loose and killing the top of my feet when I wear them. I have a few other modern vans with tongue place straps and haven't experienced this. Easy enough to remove I suppose but they're a nice feature on other models so unfortunate.

These were great delivery service shoes back when they met uniform guidelines of "polish able leather" then vans did away with the leather uppers. Rip a good work shoe.

Man, I really want to love these. They are comfortable, cushy, supportive, sticky (as in the grip of the sole), well constructed, and they look awesome. BUT the main canvas material is just not ... black. It has a definite greenish cast that I wouldn't mind if these shoes had been loved for a year. But wearing them day one with black jeans, it's disappointingly obvious that these aren't quite the same as what's shown in the picture. Fortunately, if you get the same situation Zappos is great about returns, but I needed to wear them right away and couldn't keep the box while travelling. I'll still work them in the rotation as I can, but they're not the black/black/black sneakers I was hoping to add to my arsenal.

They are comfortable but they aren't black. The suede is black but the canvas is grey. My GM keeps threatening to write me up. I showed her the picture of what I thought they would look like as they were advertised as black/black/black so she's cutting me some slack but it's pretty annoying.

Got these shoes to work at a restaurant as a gift from family.got the size 9 but fits like a size 10.wore these to work.and had so much feet space too late to return ans exchange

Feels and looks wide. I got them for onstage work, hopefully light, so they would not clunk on stage but they really do need to make women's shoes for this purpose because these feel big and awkward. I may have to return.

I really wanted to like these but they just aren’t worth the money. The padding on the ankle part wore off and my heel/ankle was rubbing directly on the plastic. The sole feels kind of thin and flimsy for a shoe that is supposed to be for “work”. Go with the MTE1 shoe if you’re looking for a somewhat durable Vans shoe.

These shoes are comfortable, and great work shoes. They would've gotten 5 stars in my book if they had actually been black or even be listed as black and charcoal. I was simply disappointed that they didn't look like the photos.

I love vans, they are my favorite shoes but I can't wait them to work because I will slip; it happened before I switched shoes for work. My coworker got a pair so I got a pair as well. I haven't worked with said coworker since she got her shoes so I didn't know they would be helpful. They are a bit tight but other than the fact that they aren't non slip like advertised, I love them.

The fabric on the sides is no where near black. It's more of a greenish grey. I ended up using a fabric marker to make it black since I needed all black ones for work. They are comfortable and look nice but the color was a pretty big deal considering a lot of people who need slip resistant shoes for work need them to be ALL black

I love Vans, so I'll always opt for choosing Vans as my go-to shoe, but in terms of a shoe that can withstand jobs that need non-slip or slip resistant shoes (kitchens, restaurant work, cleaning jobs, etc.) it's not the best. In a couple weeks of constant movement and work, the outsole near the toe and heels started to peel away and the non-slip function of the shoe began to degrade heavily.

These shoes have been very comfortable for me. That's the good. The bad. Theses are NOT black/black/black. They are black/grey/black. If these are made for restaurant work, why are they not all black. That's what you need in the FOH. Also , the non slip isn't very good. Definitely inferior as compared to other shoes made for restaurants.
