If you're in the market for a smart looking, GTX, hiking bootie with EXCELLENT food bed support, cushioning, and comfort, you can't beat Adidas Terrex sneakers with Ultraboost technology. A sufferer from a lower back injury and related plantar fascia issues for the last four years, I discovered Adidas Ultraboost tech in September of 2018 and as far as sneakers, they are all I wear now. The sole is thick and cushioning. The build quality of these shoes is excellent. The shock absorption is amazing and the Goretex versions are waterproof. The Continental tread pattern is grippy on wet concrete, granite, and tile. My Free Hikers will largely be dedicated urban shoes as I wear leather hiking boots w/shank for real trail work. I can't comment on their performance on trail but in town and on packed earthen/dirt roads, so far they have been excellent. Cons: Like my Terrex low tops, the Free Hikers offer zero insulation in cold weather i.e. at or below 35 degrees Fahrenheit. While these shoes are not advertised for cold weather use, other brands of sneakers, as well as other pairs of Adidas I own, do offer some protection from the cold. These sneaker-boots due not. There is also a lack of ankle padding and protection and as such, I do not consider them a true hiking boot. Finally, the "olive" coloration on my boots does not look like the flat dark earth color I see on all the promotional photos but more like a forest green. Not unattractive but I would have preferred a flat, matte green or olive drab. In summation, people looking at getting a pair of these sneaker-boots will not be disappointed. They are well made, stylish, waterproof, and most importantly, super comfortable, at least on my feet. Five stars.

Very very comfortable. Can wear these all day and no discomfort.. Only discomfort is when I take them off because I want to put them right back on!!

The fit is excellent, arch support very good. Overall light weight and excellent in terms of keeping you dry. Sure-footed for moving across boulders and cobbles, even when wet. I don’t go anywhere near mountains, but use these shoes for all a round wear, from the office to out on cold, wet, rock jetties and walls to fish along the Atlantic. They are awesome. Just be prepared to sit down to pull these on - because of the sock upright liner you want be just sliding into these.

These are the most comfortable shoes/boots I have ever owned. Unbelievable with the boost. Only wish instead of the white foam it was black or gray so I would not worry about getting dirty... love these!!

I wear 9-1/2 in the Adidas NMD and this is a similar to slightly more snug fit. I haven’t tried them in the rain yet for waterproofing, but it is a very comfortably shoe. And being Gore Tex they should keep your feet dry in wet weather while retaining breathability

This is a nice shoe—lightweight and very attractive with a roomy toe box. (The raw sesame/tech olive looks much better than in the photos.) The upper hugs your ankles without being restrictive. This would be the perfect shoe if not for one thing: There is a hard plastic support wedge built into the inside edge of each shoe. After wearing them for a while you start to notice that the shoes don’t feel flat. The outside edge gives more than the inside edge. If not for this, I would have purchased another two pairs.
