Does not fit my 15" dell laptop in the padded area but it does fit in the main zipper compartment and it's missing the famous bottle opener. The only good thing about it was the luggage strap. Which fits perfectly in my sissy bar on my motorcycle where it will spend most of the time on. Not on my actual back.

I have had a Timbuk2 bag for a while now and decided to upgrade to this pack. Seems solid enough but the chest buckle broke immediately upon my first trying the pack on. Not great.
Other than that the pack seems to be a decent size.

I really like the material it's very durable and water resistant. I wish there was more room in the main compartment. I wish is was more spacious.

Petite lady reviewing here. I switched from a north face backpack to this one about a year ago. I was looking for something more professional and sleek-looking for travel, and this backpack certainly checks the box there. However, this backpack gives me back pain like no other. Even lighter loads and messing with the chest strap is not enough to make this backpack bearable for more than 30 minutes. Mind you, I'm a fairly strong, healthy personMy guess is the straps sit too wide on me. Other things I don't love: the water bottle pouch only fits skinny water bottles and I'd prefer to have two. And you have to be careful with the front side zipper pocket. Sometimes things fall out.
It looks great and is very sturdy, but I don't recommend for small people that travel a lot.

Laptop compartment too tight to accommodate a 15" Macbook and needed more padding. Not many compartments for pens and misc. things.

Well made backpack. However the sternum strap cuts too high on my husband, even on the lowest tabs. He's 6' and 200 pounds - normal build. I called and spoke to a customer service rep before ordering to find out about 'fit' and was assured it would be perfect. It isn't. So overall, he's underwhelmed as am I.

Good backpack. Its a bit smaller and tighter in spots than I had anticipated. The durability and features are top notch however.

It's ok as a work bag. A bit too svelte, oddly.

The good: well constructed, attractive and comfortable to wear.
The bad: heavy, limited capacity, only one cup holder, small outside pocket zips vertically so things can fall out when accessing.

It's too tight and narrow.
It's too big for my use

This is very comfortable to carry but I am disappointed by the lack of sections and pockets. The picture looked like there were more. There isn't even a pocket for your phone - in 2022! I take my laptop to work plus lunch, glasses, change of shoes and items like an umbrella, insect repellent, sunglasses, a few basic toiletries - and they are jumbled up in the three pockets

High quality pack that is functional, well featured, well designed and well constructed. But its not exceptional and overpriced for what it is. The side cinch straps with buckles are useless, they just get the way, and I'll probably cut them off. This is a minor issue. My primary criticism is the pack is uncomfortable due to shoulder straps that are thick, stiff and too short. Timbuk2 would be wise to reference the design principles of outdoor technical packs which in my experience are usually supremely comfortable even when carrying considerably more load for extended periods. By contrast, I'm usually looking to get the Division pack off my back within minutes. No way I'd use it for EDC. I was hoping for a versatile, comfortable pack for both work and around town use on business layovers. I would give it at least 4 stars if not for the shoulder straps.

This is a very high-quality backpack, perfect for commuting, but it is a little small. Maybe it will stretch out but as of right now, can't fit much more than a couple folders in Non computer designated sections

Loved my Timbuk2 messenger bag I had some 5-6 years ago. Replaced that with a large Ful backpack. Just got a promotion so I wanted to have a nicer professional bag, and this looked great. States that the Authority bag is 28 liters. I have no doubt that's true, it just not as big as what I was replacing. Have to figure out if I can make it work. Excellent quality.

I use this for work travel. I carry a small 15" laptop, 5.5"x7.5" notebook, a 0.5" thick 8.5x11 folder, bag of chargers that is about 6"x8"x2", and a spare pair of glasses. That barely fits. I previously had a eagle creek bag with 1L less volume, but it carried much more. Disappointing, is that the bag is so stuffed, its impossible to use the luggage strap. The bottle sleeve on the side is perfect. The exterior build quality is really good, zippers are okay, interior quality is a little lacking. I think the bag looks really nice other than the two straps at the bottom which seem excessive (unless I'm carrying a sleeping pad).

The backpack looks really nice, but i was very surprised by the low quality of the zippers. They do not pull smoothly, and honestly seem like they might break, and this backpack is brand new. The only other complaint that i have is that the middle portion of the backpack was more spacious. It really does look nice, but i was expecting more.

This backpack is constructed from quality materials. It definitely does not hold as much as I expected. It definitely does not seem like a 28 L bag. I can fit my laptop and some notebooks, but there just isn't much room for much else.

It's a typical well made Timbuk2 product, but I'm a larger guy with big shoulders and the straps were not even close to wide enough at the top to fit me. If you are big, pick another pack. The customer service guys were helpful with this.

Great, quality product. However, in no universe is this thing 28 liters. Also, the chest strap doesn't fit a tall person. Returned it.
If you want a slim, great looking pack that will fit a laptop and some papers, this is it.

Great backpack, unfortunately, it's way too small. All I can really fit is a binder. Needed something the equivalent to the size of the uptown bag which was the perfect size for my textbooks. If you don't require much for your commute, then i woud recommend htis bag.

The product arrived very quickly. It was a gift for my son, and he found that it was a bit small for his commute. He then brought it to your shop and exchanged it very easily for one that better suited his purposes.

The bag's constructions is excellent. Impressive fabric, zippers, and stitching. As much as I love the quality, it has two flaws, one likely fatal for my requirements.
1) Far Too Small - It's 20.L, which seemed fine at first, but as work travel has increased, I've found it just isn't large enough to carry all the equipment I need on-site (1-2 laptops, 1-2 tablets, phone, chargers, cables, notebook, etc.). I am very, very close to ditching this (expensive!) bag and finding a better, larger option. I really wish I had returned it. The lack of expandability is a dealbreaker.
2) Sternum Strap - This thing seems like it's designed to choke you. Even on its most-forgiving position, it sits far too high on the chest. It hits at the collarbone, not the sternum. It's so ungainly and uncomfortable, that I removed it after the first trip.

I use this backpack everyday that I go to work.
I like it. I do not love it.
The front zipper is under a flap of fabric. I think this is to make the zipper and the contents of the pocket more water resistant. However, the zipper is very hard to use. I constantly have to lift the flap and use two hands to open or close the zipper. I don't like that at all.
I also wish there were two side pockets, not just one.
I also would have liked the laptop pocket to have two zipper pulls, and not just one. I really like that the breast strap is removable. I will never use it.
The material and quality of the bag are very nice. I wish I liked it more, but I really don't like it very much at all.
